Come On Menards!

Idk what happened at Menards in Burlington WI but they had a placard outside front door Menards requires mask use. We go to Menards 2-3 times a week and Burlington store has been reasonable regarding mask use. Not today I had a mask below my nose no problem but my wife is done with the mask thing. We both have been vaccinated for 2 months so we’re not spreading Covide. We were moving thru the store from the paint section to outdoor plants and my wife was confronted mid store that she needs to wear a mask. She explained we were headed outside and that employee backed off. We bought fertilizer and I had to climb the shelf to get 6 bags somewhat dangerous no help so I figure help yourself. Lol. This was strenuous so I took my mask off. I was winded but had grass seed , fertilizers all the stuff I needed and my wife was in the outdoor yard looking at flowers and trees. Prices were outrageous so we didn’t select anything and headed to the garden center check out. Neither of us had masks on and the outdoor cashier advises us Menards requires masks. We told cashier we’re outside and she backed off. Cashier checked us out and we’re ready to exit then I got the twinge inside me that was telling me to complain. I told the cashier to pass this information to management tell Menards that senior folks have been vaccinated for 2 months or more so we aren’t spreading or catching Covid virus and Menards mask policy is outdated and needs to change. Idk if this info got back to management but I’m sick and tired of wearing masks at Menards. Other big box stores in Burlington from food stores to sports stores don’t enforce wearing masks anymore. It’s time for Menards to ease up the mask nazi attitude or they won’t be getting anymore of my money ....ENOUGH ALREADY!!!!

I cut up my Menards card when they first required face diapers. I will never go there again. I support our local lumber yards and stores where they do not enforce face diapers on their customers and they end the sale with a hand shake.

Same for us...only I sent the pieces back to them...and we've been a customer since the mid-90s

During a time when it's just hard to find enough staff to remain open I think its ridiculous that a business would like to protect their remaining staff.

Yeah, screw you Menards I will never be back either. No more You Save Big Money, You Save Big Money When You Shop Menards. And no more 11% off sales. And no more supporting people who are working! None of those employees at Menards are local people anyways, they are all from Uzbekistan and Menards just teaches them how to act and speak American. And the H E double hockey sticks to you too Mr. Menard!! I hate this capitalist country and people like you that took a chance on an idea of a super home improvement store. When local lumber stores close at noon on Saturday and are closed all of Sunday that's the way its supposed to be.

Your mask rulz are just too much for me to handle.

Right now I hate Menards! I will never be back!

..... I'll give you until Saturday to apologize Mr. Menard, because I will need to be back buying stuff from you no later than Sunday.

:)

Im sorry we blatently ignore masks required signs and we no longer go to menards after they refused a sale because we weren't wearing one. Has anyone ever been to Summer Fest? well its on this year but heard this morning they will be requiring masks and social distancing. I ask again...HAS ANYONE EVER BEEN TO SUMMERFEST??? Especially the moronic idiots that are going to require masks and social distancing??? How in the world are you going to make that happen??? and enforce it??? are they really that stupid??? Im guessing state fair will be that way as well? you can count me out of both then! last time at state fair before the big "C" word hit we spent as more time sitting in a place with shade as we did walking elbow to elbow with people in the heat and humidity. Masks and social distancing??? GOOD LUCK WITH THAT!! I'm out!! what complete MORONS!! and I cannot wait to see the end result of enforcement when both are essentially big drinking parties. I mean HOW STUPID!!! Are people really that OBLIVIOUS????

Idk what happened at the Menards Burlington store the staff was for the most part reasonable about mask use thru the Pandemic. Now a placard sign placed on the sidewalk entering the store and signs on door windows and the staff patrolling the floor for mask use on a Thursday afternoon. *** is going on?? Local news all saying WI cut back on vaccine order this week so they can use up current inventory. WI is in good shape new cases of Covide way down plenty of residents vaccinated. WI probably doing well because we didn’t hide from an air born virus took our lumps , warmer weather kills the virus things have greatly improved. Time to normalize get back to business pre pandemic recognize the change for the better!

I only go to Menards when I really have to, ei. Lowes and Home Depot don’t have what I want. Mailed in two rebates for $2+ and $20+ rebates in the same envelope. Received the $2+ one only after 5 months. I absolutely avoid Menards. My son bought a boat from a party in Chippewa Falls. They told us Menards won’t let any competition build in the Eau Claire/Chippewa Falls area. When they find out that someone wants to expand to the area, they buy up that land so the competition can’t. The people said the owner is a POS. Also, when masking first started, I had to go to Menards. Forgot my mask and they wanted to sell me a $.59 mask for 5 bucks! I walked out and spent my $300 elsewhere.

Been to Menard’s twice in 14 months. Once wore my helmet for a laugh because I needed one more gallon of the same paint to finish my house last March when this all started, and once last weekend to buy a slider door my contractor said to get for my deck door replacement. I didn’t wear a mask last weekend and no one said a word to me, but it was like parting the Red Sea as I walked through the place. It was pretty comical and brought plenty of giggles between my son and I!

The Appleton/Grand Chute one has never been reasonable... right after the mandate started the manager hunted me down to inform me I had to put one on or he would call the police to escort me out. I unfortunately still go to and support that POS store, only because it’s the closest home improvement store and I also have every last aisle memorized... otherwise I usually have a trailer and would have to drive farther into town past the fox river mall to get to Home Depot. Lowe’s is on the southeast side of Appleton so that’s not an option for me...

Here’s the difference for me in Burlington. I bought a new pair of Timberline waterproof work boots on sale at Dunham’s Sports 2 weeks ago $120 for $80 none of the staff or store manager were wearing masks so we didn’t either. By the way luv the boots!

Can’t believe we are still bitching about masks but not hardly a word on the outrageous prices of everything, that is the true crime. 2x6”-8 foot construction/ framing grade board is more that a ground contact Green treated 2x6-8 by over $1.50

Damn what have I been missing? We like going to Menards, BUT the closest one to us is a hour away. Usually when we are by it, we are on our way to our place up north and don't like to stop, even for bathroom breaks. I haven't been in a Menards in over a year and usually go to Lowes or Home Depot in Gaylord as there by our place (18 Miles). A lot easier to order online, pick it up on our way instead of stopping, loading and having to drive a couple more hours as it feels longer of a drive. I heard a while back that Gaylord, might be building a Menards, but that's to be seen. In any case, I'll have to remember the way they treat their customers for future reference.

I also have every last aisle memorized...

I used to say the same Indy, but then they changed the floor plan. Now most everything is in a new location so I'm back to square one. As for the masks, I gave up on that one long ago. I wear one when I have to and don't when I can.

One of my Dad's favorite stories; In 1960 Menard's built their first pole building on a neighboring farm in the small town I grew up in. They were just starting out and John Menard was on the first crew with hammer and nails. At the time, pole buildings were something new so it drew some attention from the neighbors. That shed is still standing some 60 years later and of course we all know the rest of the story. And with the price of lumber today I doubt many of us are "Saving Big Money" anywhere.

Their rebate system is ridiculous. Still can't apply for it online - have to mail it in, and then when they get around to mailing it back to you, it looks like junk mail.
