Yes will race if im in shape for it. We will go joe is ready to go also. We will get the pop-up out again lenny and the grill. Rode 22 miles friday the 20th on the cruiser and was a good ride up to geneva and back. Think it was a little much to fast as legs and rear end is sore. Also didnt have any bl smoothies so that will help. As far as today will be having some millers so will have to double time it on my sunday ride. Good luck to all as its not that hard just be consious of what you eat and how much intake. My wife lost 45 pounds just by cutting back on her intake, and still eats all the same food less she doesnt drink beer as thats what will get me,

you got it bud, sounds like fun fun fun

My job was about killing me with 12 to 14 hour days and travel to the other side of the world about 10 times last year. Jet lag sucks. I was eating
horrible and felt even worse. I went to the Doctors where they put me through a lot of tests including a high resolution heart scan. In short they found nothing serious. What they did do was show me the inside of my heart where they could point out everywhere build up was starting. There was up to 20 to 30% blockage. He stated that this is not a concern but that if I do not change, by the time I reach 60's it will be trouble. I have watched muy father and father in-law go through bypass surgery so it was sobering to be looking into my actual heart and see this. Ugh! Stress is a big factor and I cannot much control the stress of my job (especially in this economy). I decided that what I can control is my weight and what I cram in my mouth when I eat. last August my wife and I got trainers, started exercising and changed our diets. It was a real bummer to start but now the exercise is a must for me. It is a great stress release and mental reset. I cannot go without it. I have dropped over 35 pounds (236 to 200) and feel great (with the exception of the work stress). My wife is doing great as well. I have my follow up with the heart doctor next month and we will see what he says. There is hope, as he stated that bad that has been done can actually be reversed. It just takes time. The biggest challenge was finding the time and it is still tough but it was well worth it. Also, with the exercise you can eat some guilty pleasure food, just in moderation.

wow, that's encouraging, you have made some serious headway,, congratulations. I hope your dedication runs off on all of us.

Monday morning weigh in

Here we go:

This morning I weighed in at a even 195. Last week I had very little exercise but was real busy so the calories were burning. I had a 4 day road trip in da truck driving out to Virginia to see my son so my food was not good but better now that I am trying to eat better. Di and I took food along on the way out so it was sandwiches and water. I only had Mc.D's once and really hope to never have it again,,,it stunk. Went for pizza yesterday and had 3 pcs instead of my usual 5. This weight loss is really a hard thing but I tell you it is so worth it and I am just as determined as the day I posted the thread. I hope we can all stay motivated because we are at the point now where we will want to give up. Come on people, I can tell by the activity on this thread that we may be loosing motivation.

LETS ALL CHECK IN REGARDLESS OF LOSS OR GAIN. LETS NOT BECOME DISCOURAGED WHERE WE JUST FIZZLE OUT. WE'RE ALL WORTH THE EFFORT AND NEED EACH OTHER!!!!

Well I have been reading this thread from the start, and well....I started on my own on the 11th Can I join the group??

I am down 5lbs so far even with going to a 3 day convention last week. I did real good at the convention which I thought was going to be real hard with buffet breakfasts, lunch and dinners for 3 days. But I was real good, I chose oatmeal, fruit and yogurt skipped the stuffed french toast, pancakes and omelets for breakfasts. Lunch were pretty easy salad for 2 days and no bun with the hamburger just had it on the plate with a big salad day 3. The dinners I passed on the potatoes, bread, gravy and desserts, I ate the lots of the veggies and went easy on the meat. Cocktails well...straight whiskey and martinis seemed to be my best choice

All in all a good week for me

This week I'm stepping up the walking

Week #3 for me, how fast a week goes buy.Well had a friend in town so of the 7 days of the week Sat. was my only late night eating was suppose to meet Scottiking at the Bug Bar for dinner, he was running late so we went ahead and ate at 8:30. For bar food I had a 1/2 order of nacho supreme, 1/2 order of cauliflower and ate 1/2 of each!Must say though it was a hard week for me, I need to attend sugarholic meetings, I know it's bad ,I feel like crap but I continue to use,(I've been clean and sober for 25 years from all my past loves) just having a hard time on this last addiction food! Lenny I'm soooo glad you started this thread, though I hate the thought of the scale on Monday, I also thank you for keeping me motivated and accountable! I've been in every weight loss program there is and accountability works for me.Can't afford to join one now and this is free, we can help motivate each other, praise the losses, laugh at the gains and try and turn them around. So this week must admit I didn't try hard but knowing accountability Mon. was in the weeks future I did ok,down another 1#, yaaahhooo. Xs 2 on your post, welcome aboard Linda! Come on peeps let's see your gains and or losses, it's all about accountability, the only one you cheat is yourself, by cheating!

I can tell by the activity on this thread that we may be loosing motivation.

Nope! Maybe it's just a lot of quiet determination. Grant Hoar - Standing rib roast? Now I'm hungry. I'm really relating to rev500. He started out within a pound of my starting weight. Sure wish I could have his success.

The weird thing is, this little adventure is actually changing my behavior in small ways. I actually think about what I'm eating now but the changes haven't been drastic. Maybe a few less carbs but just more exercise and less intake. I don't want to get to the point where I'm feeling seriously deprived (or is it depraved?). Here's the tally for the first month:

Week 1 = 3 lbs.
Week 2 = 2 lbs.
Week 3 = 2 lbs.
Week 4 = 3 lbs.
First Month Total = 10 lbs = 4.2%

If things slow down, maybe I'll try that martini approach :)

Week 1 = 6 lbs
Week 2 = 3lbs
Week 3 = 3 lbs
12 lbs total or 6.4 %

This coming weekend will be a tough one as i will be visiting my son and staying in hotels and eating out alot, need to kick it hard the first 4 days this week.

Ended up losing 1 lb for the week,13 lbs total loss or 6.95 %. Happy considering how much eating out I did. When I was in Iowa I went to the Olympic Wrestling Trials in Iowa City to cheer on my managers son in his bid to go to London Games this year for the United States Greco-Roman wrestling team at 74kg and he won so he will be competing in the Oympics this year. Was a great weekend.

Nothing new to report. I haven't gained, but I haven't lost in the last 2 weeks either. I am still exercising a minimum of 4 days a week, usually 5-6. I find myself cheating a little more in my diet, need to cut that out. Not discouraged though. It's not going to fall off in a month, it took longer to put it on. Keep up the good work everyone!

Wk5 (started March 26 @213) 206. No EXCESS sugar for 5 weeks., but eat more (good for you) food than I did before. Real milestone today, I walked away from frozen ice cream Snickers bars today 1/2 priced!!! I did stare at them a few minutes and as I started to shake, thought of all of you. By the way, these are my favorite and on several occasions have polished off two boxes in 1 sitting!

It appears I'm not really involved but, I've lost 3 more pounds but, after knee surgery, I'm just coaching hockey, not playing.

after a week I could not drop anything got the scale going in the right direction again yesterday!
week 1- 6lbs
week 2- 8lbs
week 3- +1.4
week 4- 9lbs
TOTAL= 21.6lbs (5.4% body weight loss)

I started my own diet back in Jan. and I set a goal to try to lose 20lbs a month for 5 months. Glad to see i hit the 20lb mark again as this is my third straight month and I have 27 lbs to lose to hit the 100 lb mark with just over 2 full months left to do! Then I want another 50-70 lbs and then I will be happy just to maintain it right there! Keep up the good work people!
