well not so good, not gaining but didn't lose any either since last post here. Since we are moving my wife has been cooking up all the food in the freezer to use it up. (no real freezer on the boat, holds about 5 popsicles). Hope to have a better post next time.

Well we had to do a late night parts run to Rhinelander (cabin project) so dinner was on the road, Bear picked Burger King, so being really tired of salads and really hungry and it was 9pm Whopper with cheese meal was looking pretty good but I thought about my choices...and you guys! I went with a Whopper Jr and removed half the bun and a ice water...no fries, well I did steal 5 fries from Bear but all in all I think I did pretty good

that's what it take's. You made good decisions in a not so good situation, I like that. I am trying to focus on my snacks. I struggle in the evenings with snacking. I figured if I eat something I really like that is decent for me I can get away with fooling myself with satisfaction so my choice is Kellogg's Raisin Bran.

I am at 7 lbs and just now I believe I am actually seeing results. Seems like my belly is starting to not look like a am a little less pregnant.

Month 1= 21.6 lbs loss
Week 5 = 6.4 lbs
Total = 28 lbs (7% total weight loss)

Awesome! A good report right out of the gate this week.

Month1 = -10 lbs
Week 5 = -2 lbs
Total = -12 lbs (5%)

Did a lot of digging this weekend helping a couple of neighbors put in sprinkler systems so I think that helped it little.

missed monday

UUUUGGGGG, missed yesterday's accountability, as sneeking away for the weekend sometimes doesn't pay. It's great to disappear but then to get right back into work mode s----.I thought I did really good food choices, but eating late, and snacking while on the road, didn't work well in this plan.... I gained a pound. Get back up , dust myself up, and try and regroup , it could have been worse but I was hoping to see the numbers going down, instead of up!

1lb down

I sure was hoping for more but had friends here over the weekend and the late dinner and drinks didn't help at all....oh well this week will be better :)

Getting There

After a rocky start have had a couple decent weeks losing 7 lbs and more importantly getting the running plan in place. After 3 weeks and only able to work up to a mile without stopping have made it to the 2 mile mark Sun. and today. Hopefully will be able to get to the 3rd 4th 5th and 6th mile by the end of May. What a biatch getting going again after slacking this winter

Sugar

I have stayed away from all sweets but fruit for weeks, I haven't even used fake sweetner and I am feeling pretty good about it! But early on I was really was craving something rich. So they say good chocolate is a better choice for you in moderation and the higher percent in cocoa is the best and dark chocolate is better yet. So I found a 85% cocoa dark chocolate candy bar and well...yuck! it was like eating a spoon of powdered baking cocoa from the can! I thought what the heck! cough, cough !! good for you yeah only because you won't like it, so you won't eat it! Well as the days went by I tried another little piece, eh, still not the best, a week later another little piece not so bad, tonight a week later the damn stuff tasted like rich creamy smokey yummy chocolate :rolleyes: the lack of sugar in my diet must've made that bitter chocolate taste better and better each week because I wasn't missing the sweet from sugar anymore

Just thought I'd share my revelation :)

Well iam not losing any more, i went to have a physical at the doctors and iam hypertensive (high blood pressure) He said stress could be a factor but so is my weight. Told me to avoid salt/sodium... Said even if i drink beer once or twice a week(granted we have band practice on tuesdays and i drink around 10 or so beers, sometimes twice a week) and thats a no no! Duh...The calories i burn lifting weights is not greater than the calories i bring in so no wonder i am at a stand still. From here on out i guess water only at practice. Also said lifting weights and my walks dosent burn enough calories so i'am on the hunt for a cardio machine treadmill or elliptical.. 94 days till the rafting trip.

I think my achilles is healed enough to let back in the game (sort of). Last week Thursday I got on a recumbent stationary bike for 30 minutes and did a few core muscle/abdominal exercises with no swelling or significant pain.

Yesterday I took the splint/walking boot off and was able to sit on the edge of the couch with my heel flat on the floor and lift it off the floor about 2 inches.

I go back to the doctor on Thursday and I'm hoping he'll let me "offically" start physical therapy. It's been 5 weeks since I ruptured my achilles and 4 weeks since surgery to put it back together and I can't believe how weak that calf is. It just hangs there like a fat lady waving bye-bye.

The good news is that I must be eating right because this morning I weighed in at 177 lbs. :)

Week 1: 177 lbs
Week 2: No weigh-in
Week 3: 183 :(
Week 4 & 5: No weigh-in
Week 6: 177 lbs :)

Look out boyz & girlz - I'm BACK :) :)

Look out boyz & girlz - I'm BACK :) :)

Good for you, not so good for us - now we have to step up our game even more.

By the numbers:
Month1 = -10 lbs
Week 5 = -2 lbs
Week 6 = -2 lbs ( I could have claimed a little more but I don't trust the fluxuations).
Total = -14 lbs (5.9%)

So I'm at 223, which is still pretty heavy but it's way better than 237. I liked what mrsrunningbear said about stuff not tasting too bad when you give it a chance. I'm not a salad guy but a grilled chicken/baby spinach salad tastes pretty good now. Beer is still my achilles heel (sorry skutr). There's just nothing better after a tough day, no matter what the job is. Guess I'll see if I have to make some adjustments in that department.

Glad to see there are results happening and we are being accountable through the ups and downs. I had figured I would lose this week, only due to a long work weekend. I did a mural on a '04 Mustang and once I start I have 72 hours before it has to be clear coated ,if I don't do a marathon I have to clear coat the project and restart scuffing it down to start to repaint. So long story short I didn't eat much, drank lots of liquids and protien drinks ( a few paydays, thanks Dave and chocolate!)and lost 2.5 lbs. and competed the project! Must admit in 2 days 4 hours of sleep is pretty hard ,slept 8 hours went to work ,then slept 6 more today heading to work now. Good luck to all,hoping to be able to keep these pounds off!

Week 6 was 1 lb loss, so i'm at 171 and hoping to drop into the 160 numbers next week. Mothers Day this weekend may make it a little harder.
