Did U get fat this last winter?

277.8 today. 90.2 lbs lost to date. Finally got on the sled this weekend and the snow was phenomenal. The sled handled a lot better with the 90 lb weight reduction as well. Looking forward to another great weekend in the yoop.

"Did u get fat this last winter?" No, I got fatter this last winter. No snow, no shoveling, no ice rink to build, clean & flood, no sled time, basically, no excercise= excess baggage. To keep this in perspective, this year is the 4th broken winter, at least up until this point. So far, shoveling twice a day, but how long will it last? Winter has alway's been my most active time of year, now I need to incorporate something else into my life style so I can keep the weight down. This was never a concern until the last few years. Not an eating or snacking issue but a lack of activity issue. I realize I cannot blame the poor performing winters, only myself. I am just not one to set aside time to "excercise" because my "excercise" always came into play naturally. Now it's time to get myself into a regiment. I commend those of you that have taken on this task & hope that I can gain the motivation to work this off.-Mezz

Byrn71 is a friend of mine and he looks great. We rode this last weekend and he's aggressive rider with tons of energy.

I am holding at 189 but realize I have issues I need to deal with that I have not figured out yet. Maybe next week I can get some momentum going. Thanks for the encouragement Bobby!

Way to go! You are keeping this going almost by yourself and that is a hard thing to do. Last summer there were at least a handful of regulars that kept the inspiration there for me, not sure if I could have done it if I was the only one checking in each week. Keep it up byrn71!

I've only rode 50 miles this year but did notice a difference, my son actually pointed it out by saying "of course that sled moves better, you're 80 pounds lighter"! Have to admit I gained 20 back, but have held steady there for about 7 weeks now, through the holidays and without any exercise. Really need to get back to walking but the treadmill just doesn't do it for me. Going to try to stick with it this week and see if I can drop 5 to get back to 185 before the ride in.

Still want to hook up with as many of you as possible during that event to swap stories and maybe light the fire to drop back to that 170 mark.

Lets work together on this Lenny, I've got issues too, we did it before, we can do it again! Like I said above, I want to drop 5 by the ride-in, I'll work on it and let you know how it goes. Figure out a goal you want to hit and we work on it together if you're looking for a partner!

My "issues" are not exercising, and eating too much junk at night. I can manage the day fine, but too many cookies, and chocolate after dinner.

My plan will be half hour on the treadmill in the morning (already did it today) while I'm watching the news. Over the weekend I pickup up a long headphone cable so I can plug into the receiver, walk on the treadmill and not have to crank up the TV so I can do it while everyone else is sleeping. I used to go 4 miles a day in diet mode, now I'm planning on 2. Second thing will be curb the snacking at night. Thats just will power. Did it before, now its time to step up and do it again.

There you have it, now whats your plan?

Glad you jumped back on board, we can manage this!

well,,,, the determination you mention is right on, it's all self control. I spent a few days will Bob Byrn and watched him do his thing and he is all in on will power and he is rewarded greatly. Just as I mentioned last summer when I was dumping weight I was doing well by maintaining the attitude and keeping the self control. I need to do the same thing that produced results earlier, stop eating snacks in the evenings. Looks like we ave the same issues and the same plan. Your challenge is just what I need and I appreciate it you helping me out. We can do this because we both know how and have already done it before,,,good luck Gary!

272.5. Gary, is was nice to meet you this weekend. Hope we can meet up again sometime this year.

Same here Bobby, way to go, almost 4 pounds last week and you were up north eating all the good food at the Ride-In!

I stayed the same, 192 give or take a 2 tenths. As we talked about, it's will power and keeping it important. I've got a week before I go back up so I'll follow the plan this week and see what happens.
