Count me in, I will be starting on Monday April 16th. 5'5" 200 lbs, same weight I have been at for about 10 years now, sometimes a little more, sometimes a little less. I was 165 when I met my wife, so that is my goal. Of course back then I did a lot of weight lifting, not to mention lifting counter tops all day long for my job. Currently a 36 pant size, but those tend to be a little loose, 35 is best, 34's a little to tight.

Lets do this!!

Hey Lenny I know that a while back you were talking about a handicapped system for this challange! As we are all different sizes the only way I think you can do this is by weight loss percentage! This will make it an level playing field. Simply take your pounds lost divide by starting weight and multiply by 100. Since I started in Jan I have lost 12% of my starting weight.

I agree with that, sounds reasonable way to do it. We still have no prize for the winner. I think sponsor system is a good deal and raise money for make a wish but as far as a prize, not all want a back woods ride with me so something more universal probably. Also, contest started last Mon so not sure we can include all you lost up till that point just to be fair, not saying you were implying so. Probably just showing us how we would figure the handicap right?

Right on I was planning to only post my loss based on what I weighed last Monday! Looking forward to see how everyone did tomorrow in their first week. Good luck everyone

I lost one pound last week. I'll take it. Did the math, it's .57%. PR1- stay away from the twizzlers! I found if I have it around, I'll eat it. Willpower is not my friend. I had to just stop buying the junk. My family isn't so happy about that part, but too bad. We could all afford to eat better, not necessarily lose weight. Cutting out sugar/starches has done wonders for me. My 8 week weight loss is now 8 pounds- but my shape is definitely different. Amazing how losing that 'bloat' makes a difference. Keep up the good work all!

Alright, I got on the scale for the first time in a week this morning and weighed in at 198 and am stoked. I know that what I am doing is making a difference and need even more exercise to gain more momentum. Come on people, we can do this!!!!!

o.k. I've read the thread since it started, I to admit I must lose some weight as well. I let last Monday slip by, so I would like to start today. UUUMMM posting a # number not that brave, but would like to reach 145 and wear a size men's small or woman's 8/9. So I to have the excercise bike cleaned up, tread mill and weight machine dusted off, used them all this morning.Getting the peddle bike ready as well.Maybe I can join you and your wife Lenny, I'll admit I'm a rookie but I bought a bike last year, haven't been on one since I was 12! For me this will be a good thing I will try and post all the days that I excercise and not eat after 9 p.m. Please keep me accountable everyone, I can take critisim well, especially when it's of help! Am trying to omit sugar but I'm addicted and admit it.I will try and post at least every Mon. that would be a good thing, as far as time line how about the offical 1st. date for grooming and we could all say that some of us started on the offical last day of grooming April 1st.Hope it's not to late to get counted in, and how about a get together with a low cal meal, recipe exchange, after we did a hike, bike, or activity such as trail clean up. We could bring before and after pictures, all can come to my house : ) .GOOD LUCK EVERYONE.

well now your talking sister!!!!!! This is great and yes,,,, your in!!!! My wife made a chocolate cake last week and it's cake mix and a 12 oz club soda,,,incredible,,,no eggs, butter, oil and I tell you it is great. Got the idea from Dr Oz. You will never know it is missing all the garbage that's makes it good and it's half the calories. What is really neat is if you can get a few good sweet things that are great tasting and low calorie to satisfy the urge and I promise you this is one of them. Try it! cake mix and 12 club soda or seltzer water, go light on the frosting and you have a incredible substitute.

I agree, I have found with a little research you can still eat some great food that has half the calories! For me calorie counting and exercise is what has made me drop almost 60 lbs in just over 2 monthes! Glad this challenge started as I was only losing 2-4lbs a week the last few and now I have a little more motivation and lost 6 last week! I hope to lose 4-6 every week until fall!!

you are doing great buddy, I think you ought to be our spokesperson! Can you offer up some foods that really work well? I have found that I needed to reduce my portion size and watch the calories in my snacks. Of course the exercise really gets it going good

I know it's Tuesday & I missed posting my Monday weight & % weight lost. Sorry.

Ok - Week 1 = 3 pounds lost, 177 lbs & 1.6% weight loss. Everyone here is an inspiration. Hearing your stories of success makes me want to to work that much harder.

I can't stress enough the importance of healthy living, eating & exercise. I stopped at Walmart this morning on my way to work to pick up a few boxes of protein/breakfast bars and it made me sad to see that the entire length of the main aisle was one display after another of soda, "energy" drinks, candy and Little Debbies. With that much tempation, I'm amazed that anyone can maintain a healthy weight.

I'm glad I had a good example growing up in my Dad. Today he's 73, works out every day, doesn't drink, eats right, lives right and is the same weight he was when he graduated high school (6' 1" & 180 lbs). He's not as quick as he once was, but he can still sling a chain saw, haul wood, drag deer out of the woods and do pull ups. That's what I want to be when I grow up and I'm hoping that I can do the same for my sons.

Blessings - Skutr

Ok, I missed it to, but i lost 4lbs since last week = 2.35%. Lots of yard work and working on the house was my exercise.
I'm a Mountain Dew junkie, like 6 or 7 a day at 170 calories and 46 gram of sugar each. So i've cut that in half and stopped eating all the junk food and replace it with apples and a few salads instead.
Thanks for the little push to everyone to make this happen. If i keep this up i'll be in a Speedo this summer :D. JK.

Wow, you guys are all kicking butt & taking names. I am off to a slow start. It looks like it's time to crank this thing up a notch. I am going to have to do a little more than work on sleds, motorcycle and lawn. Can do. Jim
Week #1 - 235 lbs
Week #2 - 234.5 lbs

I lost nothing...but at least am moving in the right direction. We were camping so was biking and hiking everyday for 5 days. No more late night snacks. Had a revelation while I was camping - that I'm sure will astound NO ONE...but I was going for a late night snack and was thinking I'll just cheat a little bit. Realized I'm not cheating anyone, I'm not 'getting away' with ANYTHING! It's all gonna show up in my butt!! :)

Off to a good start . lost 5.4 last week and wasnt real active yet . Gonna be a tough week here , going away for 4 days with my wife for some quality bonding time.
