am I missing anyone? Tomorrow is the weigh-in and no you do not have to post your weight but if you'd like you are welcome. So if you want to post your weight and goal, post it tomorrow sometime if you can. This week I didn't do as well as I hoped for. I ran and walked 8 miles, rode 33 miles total on the bike (actual outside riding).

Hey Lenny,

I'm in. I posted my goals earlier in the thread. My weight is holding at 237 this morning but I did hit the fitness center four days last week. That's a major change in behavior. Your little project here is having an effect.

I'm after long term improvement so if it's OK with you I'll PM or post my weight from time to time on Mondays between now and Sept 1 but don't know if I'll post every week. I guess I'll play it by ear.

Thanks

If its not too late, count me in.

I am 6-2, but the scale this morning read 220 for the first time in my life. Not acceptable as I near the half century mark.

Goal is 195

My Monday morning "official" weigh-in weight was 180 lbs.

My workout schedule this week is:
Monday = 1 hour kickboxing/cardio
Tuesday = 2 hours karate/MMA
Weds = 1 hour kickboxing/cardio
Thurs = 2 hours karate/MMA
Friday = Off day (it's Friday in Lent which means fish fry)
Sat = 1 hour kickboxing/MMA
Sun = Off day

Well I have a lot more to lose than all of you but 8 weeks ago i started my diet/workout and as of today I am down 51lbs! I was hoping for 100 pounds in a year and now I Want 100 by fall! So i will start with all of you today on my next 50+ lbs. I was droping 6-10lbs a week for the first few weeks and now about 2-6lbs a week. It has not been easy but well worth the work! Good Luck everyone!

This morning's weight 213 before the workout. I went all day without a sugary treat!!! If you only knew how hard that was/is for me, especially staring at fresh chocolate donuts this morning. (190 goal)

dude, I know what you are talking about. This whole weight issue is so much more than loosing weight, it's a change of lifestyle. Lifestyles are hard to change and require tremendous effort. It all starts with decisions and how to maintain the discipline is the hard part.

OK, was busy all day and haven't had a chance to post that I weighed and measured this morning and felt just a little ill?! I won't post my stats and hope that's OK with everyone. Bigdaddy knows where the post-it where I wrote them are and I won't even let HIM look at them.

My goal is 20 lbs and 4 inches off the waist.

Lenny, sorry for being such an idiot and stating that whoever wins gets a back-country ride with you...so what's in it for your?? :confused: So sorry! How bout a back-country trip in another place besides your own back yard? I'd say gas included but if it hits $6 per gallon...well?!? :) I'd gladly take you out on our fishing boat in Kenosha but then you're paying WAY too much to get there. How bout you decide!

Thanks, again, Lenny, for posting this challenge. I needed it!! Extra incentive! :) It was a little more ridiculous than I thought! :(

Team RideLean is AWESOME, skiroule! Woooot! :)

You are dead on Lenny! Have to look at it as a lifestyle Change, not just a short term change to lose some pounds! I started back in the end of Jan, and went was down just over 20lbs by the time my Mid Feb snowmobile trip came around! I was up north for 6 days and gained 9 lbs over the trip! Took it off as soon as I got home but its crazy how fast it can come back on! After doing this for just over 8 weeks it is def getting easier as I am seeing results and it keeps me going! I can say Chicken, Steak, Eggs, Salad, Tuna, Veggies, Oatmeal, and TONS OF WATER have been my friend!! You just have to find something that works for you. What works for one may not work for the other!

And did we establish a date or goal? Sorry if I missed it...

I think a good solid 6 months is realistic and that would bring us to Oct 1st to round it off, would that work for everyone?

I wonder if we could get other JD members to sponsor us and than we donate it to next years make-a-wish. Make it real easy for those who sponsor like a dollar a pound and maybe have 2-3 sponsors per person. Right now we have 10 people accepting the weight loss challenge so if we had 30 sponsors we could see a worth while chunk of cash for a child's wish. It would also give us even more incentive to stick with it. We'd probably need another thread so everyone could see the opportunity to sponsor but that would have to be okay-ed by JD himself.

John, you been reading this thread?
