Filter out the Medical and the screen will refresh.

The local City/Twp gets a cut of the excise tax. Big money to be made. Some are being cautious and others such as Bay County/Twps (Saginaw Bay area)MI are all in.

Why ? You guys don't need a extea 100k in local tax revenue? You don't need guys making the drive to spend a few hundred on a bag stopping in the store after smoking a bowl to check out some new accessory for the sled or atv .
Most of the people shoping dispensers are not the poor drug addiction class they won't pay dispencery prices .

gas tax (state and fed) total more than 25% where i live. wait for the new "sin of driving" tax to take hold.

should be a balance between cost and tax. my guy says he'll always be more reasonable than the state, maybe they will use dye on pot like they do gas.

Yeah always guys who are less $$ than the dispencery but they usualy don't have the concentrates and if they do do you trust them ? I dont . I will always buy flower from "my guy" but will also stop at every green cross i see to grab some of there concentrates offerings .

Serious question.... so you can buy hash, along with Mary-Jane? I always wondered what happened to the hash market...it was always preferable to me.

Yes it is not the block hard grayish stuff you put on the top of a pin of the 80s and 90s shipped in from Europe. But just as good . Pretty much all I buy at dispensers. Shatter and wax both good stand alone or as bowl toppers . Best part is you can stash a years worth in a very small place like say a y pipe for CC trip.
The live reson is popular also but imho just to harsh with out the hash flavor i enjoy

We all don't live in the U.P. based on money ezra. Like Lenny said, to each their own and I just don't want it in the small town of 150 people where I grew up. We're working on putting in a ski hill for kids this winter. Those are the types of things I want to see for our youth, not a dope house just down the road. They have one in Baraga and Houghton, that's close enough and the population is much better for it. We're use to traveling to places like that anyway from our small town. My 2 cents.

Great to see the kid's activities!
How would a "dope house" interfere with these? How's a bar any different than this?! It's a business. It's just socially acceptable to bring kids to these "liquor houses"? Does that interfere with kid's activities? :confused2:

I understand that it might not fit into small communities. Not every business does.

Doesn't make sense in my opinion to put one in Greenland. Maybe Ironwood or Wakefield.... Watersmeet..... Access points from neighboring states that don't currently have legalization.
Lord knows if you put it in Ironwood, Hurley WI and their patrons will support the location.

Don't see this thread going very good but my 2 cents I agree with Kip and Lenny small towns down need this. there is enough stuff that our kids have to grow up with in school much less having a storefront in your community. However i do also believe there is alot of money to be made with a store. But heck permits alone are 50k. I don't do it but I would imagine you can purchase it cheaper other places as most of you do as it sounds.

Well I guess I'm not saying liquor is good either, but the more the merrier isn't the right approach either. Like I said, to each their own. It's just how I feel and it's my opinion. I know it helps a lot of people, but there is abuse and in many cases more going on than the sign on the front of the building. I also know Ontonagon County has been battling drug issues for many years. I guess I'm just old school and I like our town the way it is. The thread doesn't have to go bad. I respect other people's opinions and choices. That being said I can disagree with ezra or others and still respect them just the same as if we agreed.

I get not wanting it in your town. But to the issue of more going on than the sign in the window . I would strongly disagree. The owner is not going to spend 50k in permits 80k for a building and store another 90k starting for a grow operation then start buying $$$extraction equipment . All so he can sell blow under the table. Not going to happen . In fact in most states you cant even have a mistaminor on your record and legaly work in a dispensary.

Every town will have to make a decision on this and do what is best for them and the community. I dont see many small towns letting it happen but that is for them to decide. I would be willing to bet that we see nationwide pot legalization in 2021. I think they are real close on that. It will make things much more uniform and minimize the hassle of logistics with it. We may even follow in Canada`s footsteps some day and allow mail order so you dont need a shop on every corner. My cousin lives in nothern Ontario and had a lb of BC bud shipped to his door for $900. Hard for "my man" set ups to even compete with that pricing.
