Ezra, I don't totally disagree with you, but each circumstance is different. I know more about this particular situation than you do since it's in my home town. The gentleman trying to do it is a convicted felon and therefore is trying to sneak it through in his girlfriend's name. The populated areas voted it in, let em have it I say:)

Was in Marinette, WI to get a Ranger yesterday and looked for Menominee, MI store and nothing so just went home.

I can support your perspective and respect it..especially keeping kids away.

Just an FYI that THC users can include recreational for sure but also those with cancer, languishing pain and even terminal circumstances.

From a rec standpoint one could argue getting high on a few tokes is better for human health than drinking a 6 pack.

Some have said; guys smoking together don't fight, drinkers do though..different chemical I suppose.

If you only knew the people that use drugs recreationally it would blow your mind, not just talking about pot either. All classes of people as well including DR's. I stay away from the stuff myself.

LOL. Yeah, I've been hearing some things that really surprise me(not just on this board). People I wouldn't suspect in a million years. I had my days long ago, and it really doesn't interest me at all anymore. My sister has MS, and she thinks it really helps her. To each their own.

99% of people have tried pot in some form sometime in their lives for a lot of different reasons. I wouldn’t smoke anything at my age my lungs have been punished enough with age but quarter up a pot gummy for me. A very mellow feeling that is pleasant enough when I’m in the mood which isn’t often and always in the evening when I’m home chilling out. Legal Edibles are measured and metered so you know exactly the strength of your dose then divide from there. Take 2 quarters an hour apart is enough for me a relaxing feeling is the best I can describe it. I can take it or leave it just like anything else but absolutely no harm to my body. I wouldn’t discourage or encourage anyone to indulge in pot like anything your choice but moderation is important imo.

A good friend [one who shunned all drugs] says it's good for his arthritis. He says he takes a piece of fudge the size of a wrapped caramel just before he goes to bed. Says he doesn't have the aches and pains the rest of us have.

A good friends mom had cancer a few years back, they prescribed her opioids and within a week we watched her go down hill fast. Got an appointment and convinced her to try the medical droplets, and she came out of her funk and lived the last 10 months of her life as good as expected. Don’t hesitate to use the ‘pot’ for pain instead of opioids - they help keep your appetite, your sleep, and your mental functionality waaaaay better than the hard **** doctors used to hand out like candy.

Most states won't even let a girlfriend of a felon get the license if the share a address. And he could never work for or in the business in any way . As far as the medical side most states also took your right to carry card if you had one . You could have your pic of what card you wanted .
Thing is the real money is not in the shops the money comes from prossesing concentrates. Guys pop up a poll shed outfit it with 450k or so of equipment and are off to the races and most town folks have zero clue what is being manufactured . And at least in the early yrs in those small towns the towns were passing out permits not even knowing what they were extracting . So missing out on all sorts of strong arm tax
