Legal Weed in Michigan

I don’t know anyone that uses pot everyday but the answer is simple imo. They choose to use pot same reason as anyone that chooses to have a beer, wine or cocktail with dinner. They simply like it. Nothing to do with addiction.

Yes, but the question is why do they like it? it's obvious they like the effects it has on their mental state or whatever. The addiction may not be a chemical addiction (I'm not an expert in this field) but people who do take drugs even every other day are obviously doing so for some effect. This is what may be the addiction, the addict becomes addicted to escaping whatever it is in their life that they don't like or what they are stressed about. Beer drinkers may like the taste of beer. Wine drinkers may like the taste of wine. What do pot smokers like about smoking pot? I'm asking because I honestly don't know the answer. I also think it's a little naive to think some don't smoke it every day or drink alcohol every day for that matter. It does happen unfortunately.

I think it needs to start snowing soon so we can all get out on the trails!

Some good and some not so good points. But remember, it has been around forever so any and all concerns about how this will affect the workforce, drivers, people and so on has been there all along. And while medicinal pot or CBD (pot minus the THC high part) has it place, anyone could visit a " doctor " and get a card. Just pay the Dr visit, pay the State annually and there you are -buying it legal since around 2014 or. But all that doesn't matter now does it.

just to say this too, but HOW Many folks that got a DR"s what ever really HAD medical reasons for it, over JUST wanted it
again, this just to me sort of pints out the CON side of some folks that will would do what ever to GET drugs!
NOT bashing on anyone, but it again IS what it is

there HAS to be a reason WHY so many want it

and on the BEER BOOZE, how so many seem to LIKE the flavor/taste
when it comes to POT and I am sure someone will point out it can be had in edible's /food

BUT from ALL I know, every one that MAKES them, makes them TRYING to HIDE the flavor of the POT
so its NOT like a wine or a whisky or beer in that respect to me either really
its just want to be able to INTAKE/use it in other ways
its NOT the flavor of POT they seek, but the HIGH from it!
NO different maybe than for some that drink for effect over flavor
but again, I feel those that drink only to get smashed are NOT the major drinkers but a smaller portion of them, as MAYBE some of the pot users that also are NOT looking to get smashed
but still different IMO

There are all kinds of flavors. different kinds of highs. different strains. Just like good cigars.
Its the same as diff types of alcohol. Sure there are people who drink just to get drunk.... Just like some people smoke to just get high.
But that is by no means the majority for either.

You can also throw cigarettes in to the mix- nicotine - many flavors
Then you have beverages with caffeine - many flavors

There will always be those that abuse and those that choose to enjoy from time to time.
We live in a free country. I personally dont need big brother telling me what and what not to partake in.
They dont care about our health etc. Its all bought and paid for. Lobby with enough cash and all of sudden some thing is ok or good for public consumption. Life is all about moderation and doing what you as an individual wants. Life is short.... enjoy it how ever you choose.

Right on snocrazy!!! But lets just please add this, "enjoy it how ever you choose, as long as you are not endangering, or harming someone else by doing so"???

News this morning had a segment about the impacts, after years of legalization in CO. Not too pretty....increase in law enforcement man hrs., significant increase in traffic accidents of DUI (THC), usage in schools by underage, and studies are showing it's a confirmed gateway drug. Another interesting tidbit....there's more marijuana dispensaries in CO than there are McDonalds or Starbucks - after only 4 years! Reported 50% surveyed have gone to work under the influence. Great idea adding MORE DOPES (dopers) to society, like we don't have enough already? LOL

I don't come to work drunk or stoned. It is not because of drug testing at work. I am the boss. The main reason for this is because booze and smoke are not real beneficial when you have to make important and long reaching decisions involving money. Never once have I sat down with a loan officer and they handed me a beer to start things off. When I was young and had few responsibilities I spent a lot of time incapacitated from one vice or another. Looking back it was wasted time. Plain and simple I didn't get much done when I was screwed up. Maybe there are a few folks that function better with an expanded conscience. But not many. As was said earlier Life Is Short. Yes it is. If you want to accomplish much a person has to make the most of the time you have. If you really don't care about accomplishing much then go ahead and spend your time bending your head up on the drug of your choice. I don't really care - gave up a long time ago trying to modify other's behavior. I will end by repeating the words of wisdom by the great philosopher TRACKER. --- More people have died and gotten divorced and generally ruined their lives with alcohol rather than weed. ------

Another addiction to enslave people. As I used to say, the moral decline has no end and not appreciating sobriety is a illustration of an compromise of integrity. This is a foreign concept today and I’m sure it’s mind boggling to most. I was addicted for 6 years, smoked lots of weed as most my friends did. Most suffer in some way to this day. Lack of motivation, lack of potential, damaged relationships and wasted money,,,,,all for a temporary high. Are you kidding me? Very few if any will smoke weed and not become addicted. Your fooling yourself if you think otherwise. Living in Mi I know firsthand many people with weed cards and every last one is a addict. They’ll say they are not but they gotta have it and their jonesin when they run out. Knock yourself out and waste yourself away.

How about dusting off the Bible and becoming addicted to righteousness. Loving the Lord God with all your hearth, mind and soul? This has eternal benefits!

And a double Amen to that!

There are a lot of good people who smoke weed casually and function just fine but that doesn’t come without consequences. I tried that and almost divorced over it. Not missing those days. My burnout buddies were telling me when I quit, your gonna stop because of your wife? I said yes, I love her and she’s way more important than me smoking. Best decision I ever made!

Thanks for the support guys.

I thought you could tell by my non response I’m done with this topic. No way I’m commenting on anyone’s religious beliefts but you can have at it knock yourself out SB. Lol
if there is NO addiction to it, then why do so many folks keep getting arrested for it, and as stated before, how some folks have had there lives ruined by going to jail for it and or??

seems to me that if the results were causing problems a normal person would STOP using it, so NOT to have the problems that came from its ILLEGAL use(doesn't count now in places where legal of course)

BUT I find it hard to say that if it was negatively effecting a persons life(getting arrested spending money they don't have to waste and so on) they would NOT do it unless it has some addiction type effect no?
just asking NOT bashing

folks that drink get addicted, folks that smoke cigars/cigarettes get addict, and all have health and other issues that effect there lives in negative ways
WHY would anyone say POT doesn't have same effects?>
you can say the BS I feel it is that the BODY never NEEDS IT , like some claim and NOT debating here, that alcohol and things in regular cigarettes and cigars is ADDICTING< but?
again, if anything your doing is RUINING your life (as stated in this tread drug arrest do and such)
wouldn't it be just logical that if one kept doing negative things like POT< they would be considered addicted to it too ?

and I find it very hard to base any statics's on booze to pot comparisons in HOW Many over do it or not
as since one has been legal a lot longer, and one been basically illegal a lot longer,
most folks IMO answering questions might NOT give the honest answer is=f one thing is illegal

and then things get thrown of when in many places things ARE legal NOW< maybe more will try it to SEE and such, so hard to base results fairly IMO

plus the new strains of pot, to old one's some studies are using , seems wrong too

only time will tell I guess, but I again see no good in the end game with more possibly using/abusing a drug, any drug!
society seems to have a problem, that we should maybe try to resolve more than a bandied, for folks to just FEEL better using ?? to temporally change mind set, only to go back where they were in the first place(or worse) when the effects wear off!

nooo dood it's not addictive....yur blah blah blah is ruining my buzz, man.

Anytime I get behind a below speed limit driver it is ...what?....yes in the first place probably an elderly person ...but a close second is some stoner thinking he is speeding.
