Looking to get into boondocking?

I think we should all get vintage sleds and keep it real next season. Everyone needs to find a sled older than 1980 and be ready for next season.

does 1980 count? i want a 1980 txl 340 BAD

I'll let it slide. I do plan to look for something like this in the off-season. Something for under $500 that runs and is in decent shape. Almost bought one a while ago and didn't and am now kicking myself.

I've been giving thinking about giving one of these a try on my YZ450F or my KX 500 next season, I'll be on the look out for a used set up over the summer. The new kits are a lil pricey.

See that Snowest (or Sledheads) article this year (or was it a 2010 issue?) of the that Mountain Horse? Climbs like a mtn goat on roids. Would be sweet in the tree tight and "steep" moraines of the yoop! :D

Yes I did see that.

Ryan Harris from Sledheads Mag just wrote up a quick review on snowest.com yesterday with pictures. A very interesting read. I agree, I think the Mountainhorse would be the ticket for those areas up there in da yoop. :D

Ya needed to be it Island Park about 3weeks ago. Snow was deep and relentless. All i did was dig ride dig ride it was a blast. And i also ride a 900 166 alittle long for boondocking unless snow is that deep. Shovel and tow rope is always a must around here. Out west you need alot more essentials like food probe beakon fire starters lots of safty things..
