Comparing a 4 cyl 160 hp to a 3cyl 130 hp sled in a drag is, how do i say it, a little Feeble. The 1200 and viper are direct competitors. An ecu re flash and a header on the 1200. Hold your arms in!!

I know that...and the person I ride with the most has 1200 GSX SE (2015)...he's not butt hurt about it like some the guys on here...he really likes my apex, and wishes his ski-doo had my sleds power, and the eps...he also told me that my xtx was easily the best riding yamaha he was ever ridden (including the Viper LTX he test rode last year)....I don't get the yama jealousy on here..lol

if he wants more power, tell him to call bill cudney. It really is that simple.

Some 137 and 129 inch models. Then the site crashed....

Looks like the mountain viper comes with a spring order 3 inch track.

I don't know how Yamaha disappointed you...but you also seem to be rather negative towards them

You are referring to me? What the heck are you talking about? I own two of them for God's sake and just bought another one! And when I said ".....AGAIN".....I was referring to the blue panty Yamaha wearers that who's hopes for something new from Yamaha get dashed year after year.

Didn't Yamaha say like 3 years ago they were going to make a all new all Yamaha sled? All I see is Blue cats and 10 year old sleds. 9k for a phazer no thanks. If and when they make a new 120&150 hp sled I would think it would sell like hot cakes. Why don't they

If all you see is 10 year old sleds then you haven't ridden one....2011 and newer are vastly improved over the 06-2010 models...the new single shot rear has my attention.....I have ZERO interest in a phazer type sled...I want EPS, the 4 cylinder, and a bit better ride...they may look the same...but there are some cool new things on these sleds...I definately want to try the new xtx with the 146 single shot rear!!

You have not been paying attention to Apex... Yamaha doing same as doo keep taking base model & improving each year big change was in 2011. Now new skids sounds good to me.

Hope you're proficient at engine rebuilds......not to worry though, you'll get plenty of practice............

600 liberty motor has not had any issues, that I'm aware of. And even the 800's seem to have been squared away. I think a 600 assault is a GREAT choice in a new sled

After riding my 08 Apex LTX , I'm changing back to Polaris next year.
I'd do it this year but no snow around here and been up north enough this year.
Tired of bouncing around, darting, bottoming out and turning a tank around corners, I'm done with Yamaha.
I rode my son's friends AXYS 800 and I'm sold on it. Only change is that I'm going with the 600.
600 Polaris is great choice in new sled

4 strokes are like fat chicks, I would consider riding one if they dropped some weight.

Weight doesn't bother me....I'm a trail rider (and a few forest service roads)...and the EPS erases the weight argument IMO...off trail/powder riding different story

BTW...the "NEW APEX"...that was seen....is not in this years line-up ;)

Did they change the seating position at all in the Yamaha-built Yamahas? My father-in-law has a newer Vector with EPS, and the seating position just seems too low to me. My wife loves it though compared to the Polaris 2 strokes - mainly because of the throttle response and smoothness, and of course the EPS.

I had a 2010 vector and now have the 2015 600 rush axys and the only thing I can say is the axys put the excitement back in snowmobiling for me.

Not sure on Vectors but 2011 -2015 Apex SE & Apex XTX very different xtx sits much higher while SE is more sit in... I could feel this when sleds are side by side....plus tape measure will show big difference in height as well including sit in. 2011 Apex raised seat height but not sure by how much. Vector has had different skid than Apex now both the same so sit in seat height is a good question for 2016 models.
