Well since Arctic Cat lost 50 pounds do I have to to wear this jacket? Will never wear leathers again glad I bought coldwave clothes and not skidoo.

I think those are just so the pipe can move, flexible exhaust lines. A cat would get really and I mean really hot inside there and I beleive that the outside would have to be solid, those strand wires would melt.

Agreed... I've used a similar "flex pipe coupling" for vibration isolation on big generator sets before.

The new Cats sure do look sweet. Maybe next year I can sell the sled I bought this year and feel like I got "Stiffed" on.

So what would you compare the handling to?

Is more like an M with a good set of aggressive skis?

Or closer to the PRO (which feels a lot like an M to me) other then the narrower panels?

Or is it more stable like the XP (gulp)?

Do the narrower panels like the PROs make this an easier machine to sidehill?

Is it as flickable as the M or PRO?

Is there a sway bar?

Uhh, ok. Here's the quick answers.

Is more like an M with a good set of aggressive skis? No, it's nothing like an M Series. Remember when the M7 came out in '05 and how it felt to get back on a King Cat 1M chassis? That's how the ProClimb makes the M Series feel now.

Or closer to the PRO (which feels a lot like an M to me) other then the narrower panels? I would say it's closer to the Pro than it is to the M Series. You ride the front end of the sled more like you do on a Pro, if that makes any sense. It doesn't feel as instantly light and tippy like an M Series, but more driveable... like a Pro.

Or is it more stable like the XP (gulp)? No. It's more stable, but not like an XP. However, you have to realize the horizontal steering system is mostly what makes an XP feel like an XP. So if you are talking the base model M800 which has the same horizontal steering system as the trail version, it will react that way. The M800 Sno Pro's vertical steering post gives it a rider-forward feel at the controls without feeling "stable."

Do the narrower panels like the PROs make this an easier machine to sidehill? It's not a ton narrower. But it does hold an aggressive sidehill. I haven't had a chance to have the ProClimb M800 and a M8 on the snow simultaneously, but I can go back and forth between a Pro and the M800 and take the same line choices through the trees.

Is it as flickable as the M or PRO? Ask Burandt.

Is there a sway bar? No.

Never liked cat... until now, these sleds look great not like a doo at all IMO unless you mean the short nose which Poo's and doo's have both had for a few years. I think the race sled (or 500 for the consumers) looks more like an xp than this one.

sled looks great and I've never been a 4s guy so glad to see they've still got a good smokey, cat's 800 was probably more reliable than thier 600 anyways. I've never considered a cat before and can't afford one of these, but if I had my choice I'd have a new kitty in the garage this year. look as nice as the PRO's if you ask me.

After the PRO's came out and now these, I'm not a fan of the XP's anymore as far as looks, they still perform well but the look has worn out it's welcome with me. If I see another yellow skidoo I'm going to punch a baby in the face. (that was a joke, folks!)

The 600 has been a pretty bullet proof motor, as has the 800. I don't understand why they have no 600's to offer in the new line-up. Perhaps an over abundance of them (800's) & need to move them before they start producing their own engines?? I still don't see the 1100cc 4 stroke as a viable replacement for the 2 stroke 600. I really like the new styling across the board. I particularly like the XF High Country, I simply can't justify $12,300. I realize technology has it's control factors on pricing, but that is crazy money, especially with the way our economy has been & continues to be.-Mezz

Marv's JawsIII

Any one ever see Marv Jorgenson's mercury powered ice rail. That guy sure had some balls to lay down behind that configuration and pin the throttle. The motors were 3cyl Merc 90hp blocks. It scared me to stand next to the thing when it was running. Marv was the leader in that type of cross building.
