I could go on for hrs on this bunch of Soros funded community organized heard of clueless sheepel. but I have been warned a few times to stay clear of this kind of posts. But if you want to get in to it I would be happy to play over on HCS.pretty sure most know my stance on these Idiots and the real reason they are out there it is all in Saul Alinsky's Rules for Radicals the Play book for the modern left movement

Unfortunately, clueless sheepels are allowed to vote. I am familiar with the playbook. There are many reasons it will not quite work as advertised. However that is lost on the masses. And we are not at the point of suspending elections. Yet.

ezra, right on as usual
these idiots remind me of my sister, a teacher who married a trust fund child. they hang out with rich kids and talk and talk about how unfair the world is while I work 8-12 hours a day to make ends meet and give my kids the best i can. their father in law comes over and says the house is too small either move or add on and guess who pays for it?
am i jealous? maybe a little. do i think that i deserve their money? absolutely not.
these teachers, students, and other liberals are just too lazy to do it on there own and want the 30 hour weeks, early retirement, lifelong health care and other perks that were promised in Greece (and by unions) but are unsustainable.
just my $ 0.02

I'd be interested in the source if your willing to give it up

Hey Lenny!

How's the house?

The first section was a defimition from Wikipedia that I thought explained it well. The second, larger section was from CBS News.com and written by William Galston, a former adviser to Clinton and a professor at the Univ of Maryland

Dude-
They are not demonstrating against wealth. That is not the point. They are demonstrating against a government that is bought and paid for and no longer represents them. They are demonstrating against the financial meltdown that was caused by too large to fail investment banks formed through deregulation, and were then bailed out with your tax dollars, with no repercussions. They are demonstrating because for them, there really is no more American Dream. They went to college, they have student loans, they can't find jobs, they are deep in debt, and they live in their parents' basements. And, speaking of their parents, their 401ks have been decimated by the meltdown, their home values have been destroyed, their businesses are failing, and foreclosures are rampant.

This was not caused by football players and actresses. This was not caused by people who worked hard and prospered. This was caused by a government that is owned by these banks, that deregulated the banks, that didn't do proper oversight of the banks, that financed the failing mortgages with your tax dollars, that bailed out the banks with your tax dollars, and is leaving this generation with no jobs, no future, no Social Security, and a $13 TRILLION debt.

That is what this is about.

Is it right or wrong? I don't know.
Will it fail or succeed? I don't know

But I understand the reasons behind it. And if you are under the age of 50, and a working person, then these are also your issues, because you're gonna get stuck cleaning up this mess, and trust me, the government will clean it up at YOUR expense, while the investment banks continue to buy the government.

Only 13% of US citizens approve of the job done by Congress. It's about time some of the 87% gets off their asses, puts down the remote, and begins to act like Howard Beal. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WINDtlPXmmE&feature=related

There is no populist liberal movement, but certainly enough political space for one to develop.
you are joking right?
your leader is in the white house
his advisers quit blowing up police stations and became political about the time you got your first german car.lets start with
Cass Sunstein was nominated and approved to be Obama’s “Regulatory Czar.” He supports massive gun control and doesn’t believe the 2nd Amendment is an individual right. He has straight out said, “We ought to ban hunting.Naturally, he also supports the “Fairness Doctrine,” the wrongly-named concept which allows the government to regulate the airwaves.
Climat zare Todd Stern has made it clear that he thinks international agencies, such as the United Nations, should take the lead on forcing climate change down the throats of national governments. Stern has even gone as far as to propose that world powers form an “E8” group, who would meet yearly and dictate environmental policy to the rest of the world.
Since zare John Holdren
In his book, Holdren advocates In the event of a “over-population crises,” Holdren supports “laws requiring compulsory abortion,” government confiscation of new born babies, the “development of a long-term sterilizing capsule that could be implanted under the skin,” and, incredibly, “adding a sterilant to drinking water or stable foods….” as long a livestock would not be affected (as experimentally implemented in India). Holdren wants the government to dictate family size and advocate a “planetary regime,” run by the United Nations. This real life Dr. Frankenstein will be deciding science policy for the United States of America.
Mark Loyd Chief Diversity Officer, Federal Communications Commission
Like many of Obama’s appointees, Lloyd worked for George Soros, the foreign billionaire who funds anti-America groups. He seems to be enamored with dictators and has even publicly praised Venezuelan Communist dictator Hugo Chavez’s “incredible…democratic revolution.” He also wants to use the Fairness Doctrine to “balance” talk radio and believes there are too many white people in the media. He has written that unless there are “more people of color, gays and other people…we will not change the problem.” One of his solutions to “balance” the media is to fine conservative radio stations up to $250 million and give the proceeds to National Public Radio.
Attorney General – Eric Holder
Like most of Obama’s appointees, Holder is a member of the American Constitution Society, a ACLU-type group dedicated to destroying much the Constitution in order to make it “relevant” to the modern world. And as with many Obama’s appointees, he is obsessed with race, even to the point of refusing to pursue the prosecution of two Black Panther thugs who intimidated white voters at a polling place.
He is currently challenging the rights of states to enact citizen verification procedures previously approved by two federal courts. In other words, Holder wants to make it easier for illegal aliens to vote, which also happens to be ACORN’s goal. This comes as no surprise; Holder has been undermining the rule of law for most of his career. While serving as the #2 official in Clinton’s Justice Department, Holder was the driving force behind the effort to pardon members of the notorious Puerto Rican terrorist group, FALN, a group that engaged in over 130 attacks in the USA, killing six people.
Deputy Attorney General – David Ogden
he argued in support of the American Library Association when they went to court to challenge mandatory anti-obscenity internet filters in school libraries. Incredibly, the ALA/Ogden position was that libraries should be free-speech zones in which school children should have the right to access anything they want – even pornography – on school computers.

This comes as no surprise, when Ogden was an attorney for the American Civil Liberties Union, he argued on constitutional grounds to strike down the conviction of a defendant who received and possessed child pornography. Ogden believes there is a constitutional right to possess child pornography. The appointment of Ogden is apparently what Obama means when he talks about promoting “family values.”

Assistant Deputy Secretary, Department of Education – Kevin Jennings
Jennings is the founder of the Gay Lesbian and Straight Education Network (GLSEN), a group dedicated to promoting the homosexual agenda to school children as young as five. They’re sick people and even promote books that feature adult-child sex in a favorable way. Regardless, Obama must have been impressed with Jennings, as he appointed him to carry out his perverted mission nationwide in his new role as head of the Department’s “Office of Safe & Drug Free Schools.”

Counsel, State Department – Harold Koh
The man Obama has named as the State Department’s legal advisor is Harold Koh. Koh believes America should defer to the International Court of Justice to determine legal precedents; a totally unconstitutional endeavor. He is a member of the “trans-nationalism” school of legal thought that believes all distinctions between American Constitutional law and international law should vanish. Incredibly, he even believes Muslim law –Sharia law– should be applied to some disputes in US courts. Clearly, his views are in contradiction to the Constitution he swore to uphold, but no matter, he is now in charge of all legal issues for the U.S. State Department.

Director of the White House Office of Energy and Climate Change – Carol Browner

Browner previously served as head of the EPA during the Clinton regime where she advocated incredibly stupid environmental regulations that destroyed entire industries. At a time when America is losing jobs in record numbers, she is precisely the right person for the Obama job-killing machine. Browner is a socialist and was picked by Socialist International to be one of 14 leaders of a group it created called the Commission for a Sustainable World Society. SI believes in massive wealth redistribution from the West to the Third World, choosing to ignore the evidence that Third World countries are poor due to their socialist policies.

Moreover, SI constantly attacks the free market in general and the United States in particular. The fact that Obama has chosen both Browner and Todd Stern (Climate Czar) does not bode well for the American economy

Director of Intergovernmental Affairs, Executive office of the President — Cecilia Munoz

Munoz is a hard-core open borders advocate who served recently as the Vice President for the National Council of La Raza (NCLR), where she supervised all legislative activities. La Raza is the nation’s foremost supporter of “rights” for illegal aliens and the granting of amnesty to the millions of illegals here in America. She does not care that illegal aliens are costing America billions of dollars; she believes they should enjoy the same rights as citizens
We won't get in to some of the others like Van Jones the firs self proclaimed communist to hold a position the the whie house

I believe that in time, after all is said and done, this will be nothing but the butt of jokes.

They have no clear objective, no clear message to deliver and no spokesperson to deliver it. The longer they stay there camped out, the more and more of the general population (who goes to work every day works their butt off to make ends meet) they will lose for support.

Their current path is a no win scenario: Either quit now and accomplish pretty much nothing (except for coverage from the mindless media), or stick it out until all support for them has evaporated and they were seen as lazy bums just wanting a handout.

Yikes- sorry, couldn't read all that.

The key word is POPULIST. Neither main stream Republican nor mainstream Democrats are populist.

Populist means governing in favor of the masses (us), not governing to the powerful (special interest groups).

The Tea party is a conservative populist movement. There is no liberal populist movement.

Obama, Biden, Reed, Pelosi, McConnell, Boehner, Cantor are not populist. They are mainstream.

X2 & why I posted this topic. What was I missing? Seemed pointless to me other than gave some people the ability to vent their discontent for whatever reason.

DCSNOMO,,,,,,Good points here bud and I need to respond to one.

"This was caused by a government that is owned by these banks"

If this is indeed the case than they are protesting in the wrong location. They are also screaming mad and vicious. There has also been over 80 arrests. This group of people are going about their issues completely wrong and to the wrong people. I do understand the symptoms of what they are experiencing financially. I am in a serious situation right now and I blame no one except myself for extending myself. My financial situation is mine and I am responsible for it. I have to work harder to dig myself out of the hole I created.

The "American dream" is just that, a dream. We need to define that dream as a realistic ideal rather than allowing someone else to define us. I simply define the dream as opportunity. The opportunities in the country are unlimited, maybe limited these days but thinking things through will get you a long ways. Many of us have bought into the idea that the dream is to have a nice house 2-3 kids, 2 cars a few toys and live happily ever after. This dream has become the standard for many of us and in reality, history shows it is not exactly that. The fact is that the dream for individuals is opportunities to become all you can be by hard work. You become successful as you like and there is no standard to measure success. Success differs for everyone but we create a standard by envy ( keeping up with the Joneses)

I do sympathise to a degree with the protesters and the extent of my sympathy is simply felling bad they are in a situation. As I mentioned, they are more responsible for their own particular situation than anyone, just as I am. Blaming someone else restricts people from doing the hard work of working their way out. If we can blame someone than we pass some or all of the responsibility on to someone else thus resulting in handouts or bailouts. Right now we have a far left liberal president who bailed out the so called crooks. To big to fail is a serious way to operate a country. I am not saying the republicans are the answer but I do see true conservatism as a remedy to get back in the right direction.

I've seen interviews with some of the protesters and many of the one's I've seen are real whack jobs, smoking dope and sittin around. They are contributing to government dependency and contributing to instability. Reform in a fundamental approach may be the correct means of action. I am all for protest if the protest is civil and organized. We see the unions involved which is another issue of it's own.

I do not claim to have the tell all answer but everyday these people waste standing around not making a dime deepens their problem. If I cannot fix my situation I will be force to move to be responsible for my situation,,,so be it. I've worked hard most my life and have seen the fruits of my labor. I see some of these people complaining and doing nothing except wasting time.

like I said your leftist movement is happening now starting in the white house.
who do you think is funding and community organising this thing?if you think this was some grass roots action you are way behind they are at lest 1.5 yrs ahead of where you think this thing is

Ezra, come on bud. We are privileged to have John allow this thread to continue. We need to be careful to not allow this to get so personal. I realize it is a very personal matter and goes to the core of our beliefs but we need to maintain strong civility. I see you have a strong position but your coming across kinda personal with things like "your leftist movement".
I agree with most of your posts but if we get to personal we're gonna loose the thread. This matter is crucial to both sides but without communication we all loose. All I'm asking is that you choose your words carefully, it can be done without a compromise. Your position is solid and necessary and I wanna see it continue to be voiced. I'm just afraid we will loose this opportunity to debate these sort of topics. That's what makes this site extra appealing to many of us. Don't get me wrong my friend, I ain't tellin you what to do, who am I. I think the other side will back off from debate if we come on to strong. I am probably the most guilty of coming across strong and I try very hard to maintain composure and choose choice words,,, are we cool?

well I did not mean your movement literally referring to him wanting or starting that movement.referring to him saying there was room for a leftist movement in his post. and I was just saying the leftist movement is on and in full force starting at the top.did not mean to get personal just stating facts of who is in the big white house and where they stand and that stand is not centrist.
I would bet 80% of the people have no clue just how far left the people at the top are and most think I am full of BS till they look it up for them self then they cant help but tell there friends
this is also why I try to stay clear of posts like this but it is like crack for me

you know what's really weird, I know of a few people who are in love with President O. I mean they think the world of him, support him to no end regardless of what he does. I know one person who calls him our "Savior" and that's no joke. Now I know people who hate Glen Beck with a passion, they think he is flat out crazy. I started listening to GB a few years ago and at first he had some weird stuff and mixed with good stuff. After you study and continue to listen you can verify weather truth or not. The one person who is correct most the time like GB is looked upon as a nut and president BO who implements far left agendas is embraced is simple mind boggling.

Here's my point, it is really disheartening to see what is happening in America. There is a global movement that is dangerous and just starting to gain traction here in the US. There is much at stake and great passion motivating many which blinds the individual. For the person who thinks that this occurrence in the US is simply a matter of people ticked off, it goes a lot deeper than that. The US is not exempt from chaos or turmoil. I believe were on the edge and it's a matter of time.

Police have used force to control the crowds at times so we see how strong the discontent actually is. People have sacrificed good old respect and humility and are willing and do embrace violence to drive their cause. We are at a bad bad place and to the naysayers, keep your eyes open, it's just begun.
