I like that idea also! 2 1/2 hours to Brooklyn is much better then 12 hours to Paulding. Whatever everyone decides will be fine with me.

Well we night have to do a southern bash then 2. I am looking for any reason to get on the bike and go for a ride... lol

Nate - Congratulations! That's great news!

Juls - forgot to ask E about the 22nd - will try to remember to ask tonight when we get home!

Bash - June's not that good and August is up in the air. I think I'll be out east at least 1 week that month....... I'm sure we can figure something out.....too bad there are so many miles in between everyone!

Randy - I'm glad the jobs going well! 12 hour shifts have to be tough. Are you on a day shift or night shift? or is it 1/2 and 1/2?

Puppy life is killer at my house! Smoke is a pistol! I think his AKC name will be "Where there's Smoke - there's Fire!" :D He had me laughing my arse off yesterday! He has found my bird bath just off the deck - and is now tall enough to get his paws in it. He looked like a little kid - splashing water every where! Then he tried to figure out how to get into it!
Here's a shot I got on my phone. Next time we're out there - I need to remember to grab the camera!

And we beat the Indians - 5 to 1 to boot! :)

all in all a good night - must crash now - puppy has finally relaxed again since I got home.........
(if only I had a 1/4 of that energy when I get up in the AM!)

where is everyone???

Well, I'm here (sort of). I have just been busy. Summer season has started for me. I had softball practice tonight and games start next week. Golf starts in a couple of weeks. Kayaking stuff on weekends. Inbetween it all is cutting grass, cleaning the house, laundry, etc. Whew! I exhausted already. I'm not sure where I'm going to get the energy this summer. I sure hope the knee holds up, too.

Back to work! (Busy here as well.)

Hey All!!

HI SCOOPY! Sounds like you have a GREAT SUMMER Planned - You go girl!

Things here at the Campbell house are moving along! Dylan is playing tennis - kind of - he's not really enjoying it, but he keeps trying and that's all that matters. He has a GREAT serve. His last match is May 18th so he has a month left. Hopefully by the end he will have some of the techniques down and will be enjoying it. Quitting is just not an option!

Dustin has been riding his bike back and forth to school and he's showing some interest in basket ball - so we shall see how that pans out for him next year. He's already chomping at the bit to mow the lawn... the kid LOVES to work outside!

I finished my current class and graded out with a 94% which keeps me at the 4.0 level and on the Dean's list. My new class starts tonight, that will go for 8 weeks. Then the Summer Semester starts, after those 16 weeks I will officially be a sophomore in college! I've noticed that I have been living my life in 8 week chunks! I can't believe how FAST the past 8 weeks went! WOOOOSH!!!!

Y'all have a good week ahead!

Hey all… okay… when it rains it pours… last night at class, I broke my foot. Snapped my 5th metasomthing or other on my left foot. They tell me if it broke any further back I would need surgery… thankfully THAT didn't happen!

So I am in this boot cast thingy for two weeks. Absolutely no weight on the left foot at all, so I get crutches. Yeah… those suck. Those two extra legs and feet make it harder to move. One thing for sure, if I have to continue with the crutches… I am gonna have one tight right asscheek and thigh… BUN of steel. The left side will just be saggy and droopy and the right side you'll be able to bounce a quarter off it…

So, when I fell off the 10 inch step at school and did my swan dive onto the parking lot, one of the other students - he's a MMA professional fighter - build like a brick BLEEP house - says to me, "are you okay?" I said "I don't know, I think I broke my foot." He says "Wow, you sure seem to be taking this pretty light heartedly" I said "what did you think I was gonna lay her and cry like a girl?" He said "yeah, actually I was expecting that!" BAHAAHAHH! Then he helped me up. He picked me up like a tooth pick - and shortly after that, he lifted me up into my truck… IMPRESSIVE… cuz I ain't LIGHT by any means.

The fun just keeps happening here! WHOOOPIE!!!

A huge HUGE HUGE thank you to the Anderson Family! Doug's wife DeAnn came to the house this morning and took me to the doc. Alyssa borrowed me her crutches, Doug went to the pharmacy and got my prescriptions. He also took Dustin to the grocery store for a few things. THEN Alyssa came and took Dustin to his concert, stayed there and videotaped it for us! They are the BEST!!! Always there for us whenever we need. THANK YOU!!!

Jim should be home Thursday - I wish he was here now… but I just have to be patient. By the time he gets her I'll be a pro at figuring out how to get around with only one leg!

I'm gonna take more Motrin and get the ice pack back out… thank GOD for my boys - they are really helping me. I'm keeping Dylan home from school tomorrow so he can help me with all the gettin' of things… GOOD BOYS!

At least it happend NOW so I will be healed up before the snow flies! Bright side - RIGHT!?

Hey everyone...

Been lurking for some time now and I thought it was time to say hello to the family again!
I try to check in as often as I can but ever since my old company closed their doors here in Michigan it has been a struggle to get my business up and running. So far...just ok! Things could be better but you ain't gonna here me complain...
However, on other fronts...My (diabetic) daughter has been doing great this year with her blood sugars (thanks go out to Nora as she is working at the CLK schools and has been volunteered to help oversee with my daughters care since the school nurse has moved on...and she is doing a great job!!! THANKS NORA! I am pretty sure you know who I am and we are very greatful for your assistance with Meghan!!!) My other kids are all doing great in school...life could be easier but not much better...we are surviving and enjoying life! Looking forward to the summer...my boy is playing baseball this year and I am helping coach...should be fun as it brings back lots of memories of playing ball in my younger (pre-reconstructed knees) days! I miss getting out and playing ball but he is having a blast so far and it looks like it will be alot of fun this summer!
Congrats go out to Big Vin for the new job and I hope that all of you other unemployed workers will find your new jobs soon as well! I am still looking while I try to get my business going...who knows, maybe I can actually make a living running my own company...I am going to give it my best and seeing that it is just me for now, it should be interesting!!
Well, I wish you all the best!
Take care...

Sorry about the foot...

Hey I just noticed the previous post...sorry about the foot, but from what I have read about you and the family..you should be able to get through this without any problems!

Here I am rambling on with what is going on here with family and you are going through this new adventure and all that you have endured! Keep your head up and know that the Rich family from the Keweenaw is sending a few prayers your way for a speedy recovery!

Take care and sorry about the "all about me" previous post!

NO PROBLEMS! GOOD LUCK to you - I know what you are feeling about the whole work thing... but... it WILL get better... RIGHT!? We have to keep positive thoughts.

Very good news about your daughter - I am thrilled she has an advocate at school! EXCELLENT news!

Good luck with the business! I agree with Nate - get the type of business out there and see what the JD world can drum up for ya!

Civil Engineering

Hey guys...

Thanks for well wishes...

We un or under employed workers have to stick together, eh! "Keep a stiff upper lip!"

I am starting a Civil Engineering company with just me at the wheel for now. I do civil engineering, structural engineering, and project management. However, over the 17+ years that I have been at this, I have pretty much run the gamut of civil engineering project types so I am capable of handling just about anything.

I am independent right now but am always interested in other options...joining forces with another company, etc. However, I do not have any plans to move so it would have to be a company willing to open an office here or one that doesn't mind a good tele-commute...

One other thing...I am licensed in both Michigan and Wisconsin so I can handle projects from either State...

Thanks again guys and take care!
Gotta run...
