My friend pulled the sheet off the old girl this weekend a 1986 inviter in perfect condition!! I am sure at the time this was the sled to have. A few years ago area riders went for a cruise on their old sleds on our local trail system. There were over 30 sleds many of which I did not recognize. If I keep mine any longer I can join this parade. Oh look there goes a 2002 xcsp edge,"I had one of those!!"

Yamaha Exciter?

Way back in High School my buddy had a 1979 Yamaha Exciter 440 and that thing was pretty fast for a non-liquid-cooled sled. 440 Fan with twin carbs, it would walk all over my JD Trailfire (440, single carb). Of course I showed up the next year with a new JD Liquifire (Thanks Dad!) and that sled was a real runner. No suspension on those sleds though.

First Sled I ever rode was a 1979 Artic Cat Jag..I know the guy who has it now it still starts on the first pull no matter how long it has sat...I currently ride a 96 MXZ she still runs great..All you have to do is take care of these machines and they'll run for ever.

I'm currently thinking about getting a new ski doo but I'm keeping the 96 for sure.

Started out on a 81 Jag 340. Could whip sweet doughnuts on the ice with the cleated track. Then I jumped to a 92 indy 500 and now I have a 01 MXZ 700. I am starting to see a pattern here maybe time for a new 2011.

does that thing get free delivery too?

I can't believe he is selling it. He bought it a few yrs. back with the promise that he would not sell it. He built a display rack to show it off in his shop. Figured it would be safe there. Now I need to send him $500 to get it back. i put over 4000 miles on that sled. he only rode it about 2000 more miles. Then it sat for 30 yrs. before he restored it. (Thats what he does for a living).

I had one of those the inviter that is. I called it the couch due to the comfort or the harley due to the handle bar shape, that was a fun sled, still wish I had it.

XLT baby

Gotta love the older sleds. Occasionally I break my 99 poo and ride my 96 XLT as a backup. I think it weighs about the same but it seems like it's half the size. You can use your body to much more effect on that thing and get all over it. 11k and still going strong with just one top end rebuild and a few pieces of suspension.
