Poos Problems

My point is, keep the mountain max and ride it like a yooper until you park it in back yard. And, buy a new one to expand your horizons for those days of really challenging riding.

I wonder how many pistons Kip is going to stock for the Pooooooooolaris 800?

Just keep a set in your backpack. You've got nothing to worry about :)

Analyze the riders of the two that went kapow!
Then compare to how you ride and maintain your sleds, which I think is probably overkill. Not that's such a bad thing.

What do you mean? Like, did they forget to put injection oil in? Seriously, I spent $10,500 on my 800, it now has a little over 1400 miles on it. I should not have to even THINK that I will have a problem with it. I should be able to add oil, add gas, pull the fricken rope, and go. :D

I don't wear a backpack up there lol. I know Kip will have some on hand, and my 4 year extended warranty should take care of the cylinder, maybe the crank too. Kip, you WILL have set on the shelf right? LOL

Do you expect problems?

here's the difference Waynester, the Yamaha triple does not have a reputation of blowing up, it has not earned a reputation of blowing up. Poo 800 in 09 were blowing left and right, enough so that world wide it has become an issue. It's reputation is getting better but when you earn the title of junk, you need to earn a more favorable title and it appears Poo is doing just that. The 2 poo 800's I mention are very low mile sleds and it fits in with the reputation it has earned. I have not just dug this problem out of my butt now have I? Is the Yamaha triple known for blowing up with low miles,,,I think not. It's a different time Wayne and you can thank the environmentalists AND Poo for the reputation poo has earned with the 800. I believe they have improved it and it will get better still.

Lets not go back to square one with your denial issues. You keep jumping off the wagon,,,,admitting a problem is the key to recovery,,,stick with me kid,,,I'll learn ya! ;)

Ya ya! you continue to crack me up!

It means what it means and I'm sure, with your warranty, they'll have you back on the trail in a matter of minutes.

Lenny, what ya thinkin', Ole Wayne here puts in a trailer park right next door?? We be braapin' at all hours of the evenin'. Just good ole boys' yes we are! Them thar are made in Indiana trailers, they is got skirten and all! You run the groomering and I does the mayoring! Weeze got thar a plan. Dontcha know! (Oops, got off track a little bit).
. Anyways Dave B. and I would like to skool ya a bit! Sign up and head west young man! Yami's are far and few between. But good groomer operators are hard to come by! And.......... that's why we love ya!

I am going to act like Wayne on this one.

I had a 2001 Yamaha SX700R, I never had any issues with it, I put almost 7000 on it. And, since I never had a problem, NO ONE had a problem. How did I do Lenny, sound about right?

Also, if you want to school Lenny, do it in the U.P. not out west where the trees are far and in between. Yea, I've watched the Flatlander vids, lots of space between those trees. :p

dang fellows, I've been watching 2 episodes of "breaking bad" (just started season 3,,AGAIN) and you all are hashing it out. Wayne, have I ever said (seriously) that Yamaha even has a chance in the Mtn market? NO! You lash out at me and attack a brand that no one is even defending. LOL, you jump back 14 years in yammi production and try an compare. I believe you have earned the name "lummox" this time,,,

DaveB, don't fall for the loyalists hype. Facts are facts and in 09-11 there was a major problem. The problem seems to be improved upon and much less failures. Poo is earning their respect but to act or believe there was or is no problem is "lummoxish." I know you better than that, don't let Wayne get into your head.

Lenny you worry to much, ya ride it, you maintain it, if it breaks you fix it, Kip and I have worked out a deal for you to get one just go down to the shop and sit on the one in the show room, Kip will charge you $10.00 a sit and hold for you until you have enough to buy the sled. Just remember if you sit on it and get up then sit on it again its another 10.00.

so, I get a text from my buddy and it say's he seriously interested in a 09 RMK and I'm all happy for him. A little while later I get a text from a different buddy asking about my other buddy buying a 09 and I say yea but no details. Come to find out buddy2 gives buddy1 the real scoop on the 09's and the deal is no longer. Now buddy2 rides a 13 pro and is not a loyalists and did buddy1 a favor by informing him of the pile of poo the 09 is. Thanks God for good friends ah! hence the title of this thread,,poo problems. I would not own a 09 either, would any of you guys still feel comfortable buying an 09,,,,besides Polarisrider1?

With a Bikeman, RKTech or Indy Dan Long Rod kit I would for sure feel comfortable buying one! You could call these options, preventative maintenance. Just gotta get it for a good price as it is known that they have an issue. It is also know that there is a fix. Get a deal, do the fix and let it rip!

that is a viable option, a real shame that it's necessary but like you said and other have said before, "fix it"

I would have to assume this guy didn't want to go through that, some guys do and some don't.

So I just bought a 2013 Poo SBA 800 towards the end of last season ( I still got 1000 Miles on it) But by reading this thread (and a few other about the poo 800) it sounds like I should be buying the Ext warranty immediately? ($1300-$1800) Of should I just set it on fire now and save myself the heartache of it burning up while out of town?
