I am so sorry for you and your families pain, I have been praying all night for her and for you to have the strength you need for what ever decision you have to make! I would try to give her one more day if you can, I know it's hard to do but if the vet thinks at all it is this tick thing try to hang in there for 2 days after the fever breaks. If not, just try to remember we are lucky we can do things out of love for our animals so there is no suffering. Prayers for you Chris

Think positive all the way. We all are praying for her. I know how hard this is. Tuesday, some very close frieds of mine had to put down their German Shepheard (no hi-jack intended). That, plus worrying about your dog, has made for a heck of a week. Now that the fever is gone, hopefully her mobility comes back. I will pray and think positive thoughts for her all day today. Best wishes.

Oh Crap. We are so sorry to hear this.

We lost our pet Thursday bfore Memorial Day and we are still fighting tears at times. It is tough.

This did help.

"Rainbow Bridge

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Chris ,sorry for you and your family.Having a golden now with little ones 7&4 I feel your pain. Four years ago we had to put our first golden down,it was tough. Probably don't have to tell you about the rainbow bridge poem, but it is a beautiful poem about when they do leave us. Your family is in my families prayers. Don't know what else to say. Have some tears flowing.

I know the pain you are feeling and that it is amplified with your kids sadness, my condolences to you, Jess & the boy's. Hang in there bud, you guy's did your best for her. Feel free to give me shout if you feel the need.-Mezz
