Put on 30miles tonight all east troy trails. The above sums it up pretty well. Some good and some bad I would say 50/50. I personally would wait until this storm tomorrow should set it up good for the weekend. The drifts that blew into the trail are hard as a rock now. Base is good and hard. Let's just hope we get at least 3-4" tomorrow. That should make it damn good. Will report back as usual.

We plan to go back out with groomer in eastern Kenosha County (from Hwy 75 east) on Friday night or Saturday depending on new snow. Trail 42 between Stumble Inn and Jeddys has several plowed fields that we were unable to disc so that will be rough going until we receive more snow. For a nice ride take 42 east towards Kenosha to Tina's Somers Inn, I ran groomer that way and followed up with a ride Wednesday night, a little thin in spots but decent ride for leaving from the garage. I would also like to remind everyone that a Wisconsin trail permit is required, while driving the groomer I noticed more sleds without stickers than with. I would anticipate Kenosha County Sheriff's will be patrolling this weekend and it is a pretty pricey fine to be caught without permit.

I guess all trail passes are mailed now so if you buy one somewhere all you get is a receipt. Im sure quite a few of the people you saw without stickers were just riding on their receipt.

Any gas station that sells fishing licenses should be able to sell you a trail pass. Gander Mtn. is also an option.

Hey 09twoup did you groom to Icky Rickys too? I saw a single set of tracks on Tues and ended up dropping at Brat Stop instead. My GF was with me and I didnt feel like digging her out of a drift if she did something silly.

I did groom to and turn around at Icky Rickys, the snow was very thin in that field but got better just north of there. If you are member of a Wisconsin snowmobile club passes need to be ordered through AWSC, if not a member they need to be purchased from the DNR or a DNR sales agent and a receipt is considered valid proof until stickers arrive.

You drive the groomer? Awesome... The groomer goes east of 94? Thanks again for making kenosha county trails great again.

70 miles last night east troy, Lyons, abels corners, lauderdale, eagle and back to east troy. Was hard to see at times but was great. Breaking trail 70% of time. Few bumps in chisel plowed fields but otherwise really good. Get out and ride. Headed back out shortly.

Just rode 50 miles or so, going to head back out tonight as well. Trying to make it lake Geneva area. The trails were fun to be on but needed a groomer out in kenosha and Racine. Kenosha was in better shape than Racine.

Getting cold now tho... get that groomer out there and it's will be back to good - excellent.

Rode a loop starting in powers lake east through Bong, up to union grove, had lunch at Eagle inn then through honey creek and down to lyons and back. Overall trails were 6-7s. A few inches tonite and if the groomers get out it could be 9-10s. Planning on riding tomorow as well.

Few thoughts on the Walworth County area. Trails are marked well, but fuel stops are hard to come by. The Cotton Exchange would have been my lunch stop if there was a sign that said "open" and a sign that said "enter here." It looked like a garage. The food at Lauderdale Landing was really good. Thanks for the work clubs.

Ended weekend with 200 miles all Walworth county. Trails Friday and Saturday nights were great. Actually last night was unreal with all the blowing and drifting. Breaking trail with 2-3ft drifts. Looking at the picnic table in the yard we have at least a foot and half here. Once groomers get out to smooth out the trails from drifting and weekend traffic they should be fantastic. I will get out this week again and report back. Best coditions I have seen this early in a long time down here. Enjoy!

LOL...never really thought about the entrance to the Cotton Exchange, buts it's not a garage.....it is a converted barn. The main entrance is up the outside stairs which I guess they used to call a hay mow.
If you went around the building to the lower hall entrance where they have weddings and stuff ,..... It probably looked closed.
Give it another try.....they have a killer Sunday brunch.....not cheap, but gooood.

Thanks for the update Ryan! Drumlin wasn't too bad either on Sat. Some of the fields were rough but other than that was a nice first ride for the season.

Rode all around the Twin Lakes area yesterday with my boys and as others have said, trails are awesome for this early in the season!! Tons of snow, big drifts and some rough spots in fields that a little grooming will clean up, unbelievable early start. We are on lake Elizabeth and there are some ice houses out. We also saw some people riding straight across the lake from S end. We went out on the lake ourselves but stayed close to W shore and packed down a parking area in front of our house for future rides. Still a little uneasy about the ice all the way around the lake myself. Hit the trails while they are there, usually they don't last too long.

-12F this morning trails should set up pretty nice by mid week if they get groomed. They looked like they got hit hard again Sunday. Sunday I did not ride. If the groomers get out the trails should be in great shape. It looks like we are going to get our typical warm up here by later this week. Hopefully it doesn't get too warm. As of this morning they were saying an inch or two of snow Wednesday with temps around freezing and warmest day being Friday at 35F. Looks like it will cool back down after that. Not a huge warm up but something worth monitoring for our trails. I will get out this week before temps get warm and report back. I also measured 18" of snow in the woods in my yard yesterday.

gkolar, if it was 4 sleds you saw on Lake Eliz, that was my group! Speed is your friend! We went from Hideaway in Genoa city all the way up to East Troy and back down through Lauderdale lakes and back. Lots of snow, little surprised at the lack of grooming almost everywhere. Being that the groomers haven't left the barn in two years I would have thought they would have been out stretching their legs. Problem I see as I have seen in a number of years, warm up followed by rain next weekend. Better hit it while it's here! Don't assume this base will last. Shout out to Lauderdale Landing as well, good food and drinks! Total of 200+ miles this weekend, good start.

My son turns 12 Christmas Eve and will finally be legal to ride the trails. He's been counting the days for a while now. We will be in Greendale for Christmas and it looks like we might be able to fit that ride in. Grew up in Kenosha and know the area pretty well but never rode here. Where would you recommend to drop and ride from? Thinking about going first thing Saturday morning for a 20-30 mile loop if possible. A breakfast stop along the way would be a bonus.

The groomer passed my house on trail #12 in Elkhorn last night about 6pm. Looks like he was coming from Delavan area. So they are out grooming.
