I tried the KM forest late yesterday afternoon, carbides were going right into the dirt, drove less than a half mile and turned around. We need a better base.

Just put 21 miles on my Edge in Kenosha County. Saw two groomers while riding. Trails were a little better than I expected. I felt more rocks than I care for but overall not bad. Just south of the stumble inn i headed west. After a couple miles I came across a groomer heading east. After passing him/her I got to a chisel plowed field that was unbearable. I had to turn around. Hopefully the friday/saturday storm comes through.

I was out putting some finishing touches on our trails in Elkhorn area and here is what I saw. Chisel plowed fields look rough but for the most part plenty of snow. All other trails looked fair to good, but we need to get a base built. This snow was pretty fluffy and the first sled down the trails pushed the snow right to the side. The good news is the groomers are out and that should help establish a base with this cold weather coming. If the 4-8" falls this weekend the trails could improve to excellent. I will keep you posted as the weekend gets closer. Hey Ryan I saw you posted on the East troy FB page, conditions look the same in your area?!

Yeah conditions about the same in the East Troy area. Couple of my buddies went out last night put on 30-40 miles and the report was not too bad for time of year and first ride. All of them rode north into Waukesha county Eagle area. I guess the groomer was out in Waukesha so the trails might be a little better that way. On drive to work this morning in Eagle trails didn't look terrible. More snow on them than I thought there would be. I might take my wife's sled out for a hot lap tonight just because it doesn't get used as much as mine. So I will report back maybe with a few pictures if I get out. Even if we get a couple inches this weekend like John is predicting that will help a lot! We will see what happens...will report back.

I talked to a friend that was out last night in Kenosha/Racine. He said a lot of what they rode was groomed. He said Brat stop to stumble inn to Deadmanns to Dover Inn was all decent. Said they tried to go toward Jeddys and it was bad. Also said they tried to go north of the Dover Inn and that was pretty bad. They were heading toward Burlington the last time I talked to him. I will find out later today how that was.

Trails east of 94 in Kenosha along 31 and H both looked rideable from the truck. I was up that way last night and saw quite a few sleds on trailers but none on the trail.

Gonna go for a spin with the girlfriend tonight. Hopefully theres still some snow left on the trails for us.

Groomer rolled through the East Troy area yesterday afternoon for the first time. Not much has changed with this other than perhaps knocking down some of those chisel plowed fields that are a little rough. From the road it looks like most of the trails could use some more snow now. But for the most part they are still ride able if you are wanting to get out for the first ride. Wind is picking up now and blowing some snow around. That might help some portions of the trail and then hurt other portions. Snow still planned for Friday into Saturday. Anything that we get out of this next storm even if a couple inches would probably dramatically help out. Will post back once there is something to post about. Please stay on the marked trail!

What club is responsible for grooming the corridor 42 out of kenosha west of I94?
I am joining them ASAP... They need to keep up the great job they have been doing, with so little funds I imagine.

Very proud to say that Kenosha is out grooming and panning the trails. The trails are ahead of the game IMO at this point. Very cool for the trail coordinators to get their **** ready to go before the chance of this snow.

I am saying(yelling) to everyone in Chicago-land... Get your asses up here to Kenosha its only a 30-45 min from the north side and right off the hwy you can find a trail head dump and go from there.

Don't get me wrong nothing beats the north-woods, but a 30-45 min drive vs a 5hr45min drive is pretty rare and cool. The local business should be bustling getting ready for you to come up.

If we get another 6" we will be in excellent condition and in mid season form. The base is strong, panned, groomed and waiting.

this is west of the highway right where 42 begins, it doesn't all look that good... but all we need is another 2-3" ---(thats what she said)

i see flurries!

get those groomers out there!!!

Probably put about 60miles on last night. Gotta agree with slowsi00, the trails in western Kenosha/Racine are pretty darn good considering how light the snow was. Definitely a good base now. If we get at least 3 inches out of this next storm I could see almost all the trails being in good-excellent condition.

We only passed 2 groups of 5-7 people and one solo rider last night. Kinda surprised more people werent out.

I'll be out Sat and or Sunday if we get any more snow. I'll be off 50, W of 94 about 10 miles or so. I agree, not the UP, but the drive is much closer!

Yea Brat Stop is the closest drop point to the border and highway. The trail exits the far northeast corner of the parking lot. Thats where I started from on Tues. The first couple miles of trail were really thin on the way back in. If you wanted to drop in better conditions I would say go to the Stumble Inn or Tin Cup at 142 & 45. Trail was groomed right to the bar when we were there.

On way to work this morning it looked like the winds blew some good new snow on the trails. I would imagine there are some spots that are skim due to the wind though. I will be heading out for a ride tonight after work. Will report back on my findings. I am in East Troy area.

26 mile loop tonight from west Racine Co into Walworth Co. for fuel in Lyons. need snow on 35%, 35% OK, 30% good.
Watch out on the drifts...they look soft yet the 30+ mph winds the past few days has set up the drifts in a hard state a existance...just sayin.
