Might as well stay there, it is likely cleaner than any other motel after the deep clean etc.

I am willing to bet their "deep clean" only had to due to with the water system that was affected and nothing else. I have stayed there in the past and have felt the place is run down. Profits going into the pockets of the indians versus back into the business would be my guess. Doubt this event will change their process. My $0.02 fwiw.

I like to know what other places in that area offer basically $30 per man per night for a decent room, on trail, bars with bands on weekends, cheap drinks, restaurant, hot tub, pool and gas station outside the door that also offers the opportunity to win enough to pay for the trip (most times)! Covers all my needs except for the ability to tuck a buck! lol

True dat, prices are sweet.
If I remember correctly, the motel began as an Americinn back in the day and the Tribe took over once they bought out the franchise agreement. Americinn's are known for concrete floor construction which keeps the noise down.
Now if they would bring back that darn Poker room, that is where I had a shot at having my trip paid for too.

Houghton used to be $60 a night 2-3+ years ago... NOW, if you are LUCKY enough to even find an available hotel in Houghton anymore without booking a month in advance, all the 2 star hotels are $90+... I guess I can't complain, gas is 1/3 of what it used to be.

You would think that with the limited lodging available that the Parkview would be able to succeed. Seems they could get whatever they asked for regarding room rates. I guess the demand wouldn't be as high if other areas had snow. Sure would be nice to see that property back in biz.

This seems to be the truth with all of the Indian casinos. Its truly unfortunate how they run them into the ground and then want to rebuild. It also why several of the casinos are in financial trouble.

Stopped into the Casino this past Sat night. Plenty of trailers in the lot. Place was busy. Looked to be biz as usual.
