In what issue of AmSnow is the info on 2 new Yami built chassis? Is this for real, or just speculation???

Yam needs something "all" new. Viper can't continue to carry them much further by it's self.

Abe go to TY General discussion of 4 stroke forum. Thread 2017 sleds..20 some pages now but most current seem focussed on new 800 2s Yamaha platform for 2017. Very possible new Apex/Vextor coming from Japan but 800 2s baffles me but some say with ears to ground swear by it. I do think something new this year from Yamaha but my logic would be 4s....American Snowmobile thinks so too...We will have to see very soon and would be HUGE let down if nothing in 2017.

Forgot speculation on 3/4 sled too in partnership with AC.

A 2st would no be to far off in left field.
especially if cat really cant get the big bore c tec running right .
I for have been very disappointed in Yamaha for yrs . I have owned almost as many yammi as cats I my life but in the last 15yrs no attempt at anything. sad really they have the ability on every level to be top dog but chose status quoi.

From what AmSnow has to say, no more Vector/Apex. That makes sense, as both are old hat. Yam needs something all new in both chassis and engine. Something that has engine/chassis combo designed together as one, from the get go. Viper would be a much better sled if the intake, and exhaust were reversed front to rear.

If Viper dropped even 20 pounds, new chassis eliminating affiliation with AC - I'd buy one. Just put an M10 on it and develop a new front end suspension with Yam engineering and I'd lay the money down.

Take the Viper/Vector motor along with an M10/M20 skid and build a chassis using the best qualities of the AXYS and ProCross chassis and Doo's weight reduction techniques...and you have the new #1 selling sled IMO. I get people wanting 800 2S or Apex power but the market for trail sleds in this niche is smaller in comparison to the 125hp market.

I can dream right? :)

I have been involved in OEM biz for 25-30 years so know about cross fertilzation of engineering & marketing ...Cat could very much woke Yamaha up told them get back in 2s dominate like you do in 4s & step up to the plate we will buy from you. Just have to see but a whole lot of info out there that something big is coming in Yamaha 2017 release.

Cat's earnings release from yesterday hinted at new sleds for 2017 too, along with the snow bike.

Whitedust - explain this to me. I can't say I've ever heard this term. Maybe I've been around it too but never heard it stated this way?

Not even close to reality - never happen. Rather, it's going further north of 10K than south. Need to have some degree of "possibility" to keep it interesting, otherwise it's all frivilous.

They can hint all they want. What is their definition of a "new" sled could be nothing more than different shocks or BNG.

Just like AMSnow and the other rags' "speculation". They do it to sell magazines....nobody cares if they were right or wrong. Even AmSnow said it often in the latest issue..."we got that wrong last year".

Well, got sucked into the rebates and 0% financing, so new ski doo was almost free lol!!!
Loved the ace 900, but went with the Blizzard 1200. New fancy schmancy adjustable T & A skis work great, no darting and corners on rails without spending extra $$ on new skis or carbides. Updated 1200 with throttle by wire or itc is noticeably snappier than my 2014 POS. Put first 100 miles on it wednesday, 300 miles on it thursday and 100 miles on it fri morning. Taking it in monday for oil change and 500 mile check..
Ride is stiffer than my 2014 gsx se 1200, but I knew that
after my 60 mile test drive a few weeks ago. Again I'm not impressed with the R-motion. I know it's the best
ever coming off a '98 polaris XLT, but it certainly doesn't
absorb the stutter bumps like the brochure and sno mo
mags say. Again, my 2013 gsx se 1200 with the old
sc-5 suspension had a better ride than my 2014 gsx se 1200 with the best ever R-motion suspension

Also, the 2016 Blizzard and 2016 renegade adrenelin have spanner nuts on the center shock to adjust it. I hate those.. tough to get at and I can never figure out which way to turn the two spanner nuts!!
I'm gonna ride it more before I decide if I'm going to put my special POS badging on this ski doo.. so far I don't think I will, but I'll keep you posted!!

Congrats on new sled!! Pics!!
Are you sure about that center shock? I have X package renagade, just turn it by hand no wrenches needed!
Also give it 200-300 miles for break in should soften up bit and you'll be fine on stutters.
