    Phoenix, AZ 11-17-2015

Well I had a big scare this morning — I woke up (in Phoenix, AZ) and looked at the (outdoor!) "thermominator" to see 45°F? — In da AiryZony desert? I thought I'd died and went to da UP! (What kind of "desert" is this, ice cream?)

Pat's Power Sports not just sleds

Lenny: 1. What's the bar/lever extending across directly in front of the dashboard, an assured income plan for the front seat passengers' dentist(s)? 2. What, you didn't pop for the "snowmachine" option? That's legal on the snowmobile trails, right? (Oh, I fergot, with the forthcoming...

Summer Comes To The WI Northwoods!

"Our 90 with 70 plus dewpoint feels worse than your 110 I bet …" I'll agree with that! I've been a desert rat for so long that I can hardly breath that "Loozy-Anna style swamp air" anymore. If this was May or June, with a high temperature in the 110s to 122! (June 1990) the mid-day humidity...

Did U get fat this last winter?

Ya criticizin' my punk-chooatin' [sic] too, hombre? Well, Lenny, you are technically right (except fer da spellin'), although that is one stoopid punk-chooation [sic] rule I have always disagreed with — "it's just not logical, Jim, er… Lenny"! Of course therein lies the problem...

    "skypunch"

Not really so much an"Ask John" issue, just an interesting weather phenomena (Click the thumbnail for a larger image.): This is a rare meteorological phenomenon called a 'SKYPUNCH'. Ice crystals form above the high-altitude cirro-cumulo-stratus clouds, then fall downward, punching a hole in...

I don't know whose it is , but nice! Here's another view. Whoever it is, they sure seem to get around. Must be nice! I see from the last link that one of the places it has been is Princess Juliana International Airport, Netherlands Antilles (TNCM). That place is a real hoot! Check the video...

    RC model aircraft (B-29)...

How about a home-made model B-29 bomber … with a Bell X-1 Rocket Plane that launches from under its wing, no less! Check the video (wmf, 7m 24s). Note, the "pilot" loses control of the B-29 and ejects(!), then "the 2nd in command" (presumably) recovers!? This aircraft runs on four Chainsaw...

    September 5 (2010) Journal …

Yooper hurricane names? Eino, Helmi, Lempi, Mika, Niilo, Onni, Riika, and Toivo are okay. Aimo and Urho, perhaps, but Aino and Urno? Nooooo, not so good, eh? (Unless you really know someone with those names.) You want an official source, try these: 1. Finnish boys' names in...

    Trail Cam?

I was under the impression that the Trail Cam has been dead for several months, although the date/time stamp has been updating. I just noticed last night that it shows a pretty good picture late in the day, around Evening Civil Twilight or later. Maybe its "white balance" is just out of kilter?
