    TIME TO CALL IT ?

welp...once again we in northern Wisconsin are getting missed by the next system....a short blast of colder air the end of the week, which could give some rideable snow to the snowbelt areas to the north (Ironwood/Hurley).....then back into the 40s with the possibility of RAIN early to mid next...

    TIME TO CALL IT ?

Well....we got a surprise over night...woke up to 5 to 6 inches of wet snow in the Nokomis area....was only expecting an inch or two....nothing is open, and the lakes suck...coulda used this a month ago...but it's something...I can at least spin around my yard after work tonight

    TIME TO CALL IT ?

It's looking less, and less likely that trails will open....that being said...if we get rideable snow...they will open if the county gives the green light...land owner easements do not end until March 31st at midnight.....realistically...another stretch of warm weather would be very bad..some...

Still "might" get a week of riding in 🤞

X2...just checked the extended range forecast discussion for the next 3 to 4 weeks...it's showing a slight cool down for next week, but no big snow systems....and after that...another warm up with above to slightly above temps.....and equal to below equal chances for precipitation...meaning the...

NOPE...not looking good at all....the closer we get to March the less likely that will happen.....it's alot of work to put that stuff up, only to remove it a couple of weeks later.

    Oneida/Lincoln county update 1-21-24

Yep...awful weather...absolutely nothing in the long range forecast that would give us any hope of opening trails here the next 10 to 14 days.

We will set a record for latest opening date if we do not open by the 25th

Guess I missed one....lol...either way...the record (wether we like it or not) will be broken this year

We will set a record for latest opening date if we do not open by the 25th

Looking back at records...we opened Oneida County trails January 25th 2021....that was our latest opening date (that I could find) in the last 30 years. We are going to blow by that date and set a new record this year. There is literally nothing in the forecast for the next 10 days...and in fact...

    Oneida/Lincoln county update 1-21-24

I wish I had good news for you ...but I dont...we remain in a holding pattern, and trails remain closed...clubs have been working on wet areas, and problem spots, and checking lakes...unfortunately we found unsafe ice areas on lake nokomis ( only 2 to 3 inches in spots)...while there is a solid...

looking at ski doos, need advise

I still don't like the Ptek's, and wouldn't recommend a sled with that motor to a "new to ski doo guy"

    Avoid Trail 11 south

Gogebic Range authority reported a tucker breaking through in a wet area near Cheney Lake...(south of Wakefield and west of Marinesco, off the 2 trail)....they had to use an excavator to get it out...its a mess

    Storm Central: Friday 1-12-24

None in the Tomahawk/Nokomis area are marked yet....no word on when...it is cold and we are building ice...so hopefully soon...the clubs are packing swamps as we speak....we are very thin on snow though, and the weather out look is not great the next 10 days

    Storm Central: Friday 1-12-24

In the last 20 years the latest Oneida County has ever opened was January 25th (in 2019 ?)..we will probably beat that record this year...trails opened late in 2015 -2016, and closed early....that 2015-2016 season was easily our worst year of riding (the shortest season on record)...coincidently...

    Storm Central: Friday 1-12-24

Looks like East Central, South Central, and South Western Wisconsin...(or now the YOOP)...are where to go....storm was a flop for the Northwoods of Wisconsin..trails aren't open here, and probably won't anytime soon. Not looking good at this point

    Update 1-15-24 (Oneida/Lincoln County)

Unfortunately...nothing good to report...the storms from last week missed us....between the 3 systems last week we received 4 to 5 total inches..(more to the south and east, less to the north and west).....NOT ENOUGH TO OPEN TRAILS....very, very thin out there.. Just enough snow that the clubs...

    January 12th

At 715 pm...2 inches in nokomis....we just aren't seeing squat out of this in north central Wisconsin...unless it totally dumps on us in the next couple of hours ...2 to 3 is gonna be it

    Storm Central: Friday 1-12-24
