Citgo sea and snow question

It is hard to believe that a $15/gal oil is just as sufficient as a $50/gal oil. Just goes to show you what marketing can do.

The really sad thing is, its even over priced at $15. Started out at $8.99. Have seen it as high as $20 at some places.

LUKE DUKE, you are good with a blend. I run SS in my 07 F-6, and everything else I own, doo,poo,1 SD ski, 2 modded KAW stand-ups, wacker, blower, saw, heck I run it in the old lady if I thought it would help ••••••• I used 22 gallons last season. PUT it in my brand new 09 800R as soon as there was room in the res last year then clocked up 3400 on it.

Just cleaned my exhaust valves tonight. Have been running S&S for 3 years in that sled. Valves took about 5 minutes each to get nice and shiny. Had about 1500 miles on them since the last cleaning.

On another note, sure was fun getting the sled out and starting to work on it. Cleaned valves, changed chaincase oil, greased it, pulled the clutches and cleaned them. I've got 5400 miles on my sled and still haven't changed the belt, slides, or plugs. I compared the old belt to my brand new one and other than some wear on the side, it's the exact same width. i think I'll swap it out just for fun!

I agree with ezra, someone show us pics of the valves. i want to believe that SS is just as good, but don't want to be disappointed with a burn down

with klotz I couldn't pull my valves out without prying on them, damn near had to remove the cylinders to get them out. One season of Sea and Snow and the valves slid out with little effort. I am a believer!

After switching to S&S in my 07 Dragon, it blew up. It had 5200 miles and I still don't think the oil was the reason, but I am kinda scared to run it on the new top end. I ran Ams before that with no problems then it was seriously the first full tank of Citgo and pow. The 700 spun a ring on one side until it caught the exhaust port and tore a bit of piston apart. The tit on the piston that holds the ring from spinning broke and allowed it to spin around. I know Polaris came out with an updated piston so there must have been some problems with the factory ones.
A sled mechanic said not to use that oil on these engines because of the strong fuel injector spray, it tends to wash off the oil. Now I don't know what to do, my buddies run it in all of their carb sleds and it is great. I love the convience of buying my oil at F&F and saving money. Any gearheads have an opinion on this, whether sfi will make a difference? I feel it was not the oil but don't want to rebuild again this winter.

I've run Sea and Snow for two season. It has the highest service rating any semi-synthetic can get. My power valves had minimal crud last time I cleaned them. It's very good oil at a very good price.

Here is what I resorted to after running all over the place. I talked with my local Citgo gas station manager ( 2 miles away ). She orders it for me by the case. Yes.•••••• is $3.99 a quart( 15.96 a gallon ) but I used to buy it in Grand Rapids ( at Kamp Oil ) for $14 something and had to drive 100 miles back-n-forth. Gander Mountian used to charge $19.99 a Gallon. You need to resource this now because they ( Citgo stations ) order a month ahead of time. Also there is 6 case min for the franchise to purchase. I usually buy them all. In fact she has 7 more cases sitting there for me and my plan to use every last drop of it this season.
Here is my proof...
