Gary, I'm not the commissioner but as far as I'm concerned there's no such thing as too late for this adventure. I think you'll find that this thread can actually help keep you motivated.

If you hit your numbers, you'll have a lock on Team RideLean Hall of Fame membership! Good Luck!

Finely got to town and got a new scale and I'm down 3lbs. So that's 1 1/2lbs a week for the last 2 weeks I'm pretty happy with that

Going to be a tough weekend but I'm going to try to play hard and eat less. My big cheat will be 1 piece of pie  a French Silk pie from Bakers Square is being brought over from Minnesota for our anniversary!! So knowing that I'm going to have to play REAL hard to work it off

We have people at work losing a lot of weight. The job is mostly walking around the tune of 8 miles per shift. They are eating their normal stuff but they keep on walking. Most are amazed that they are losing that much weight without any extra effort other than showing up for work.

Mrs. Bear, who is bringing you the pie? ;)

Not sure how to figure body fat percentage or anything else

You need to get a copy of the "John Dee - Exercise Tracking Spreadsheet" developed by skurt (sorry Scott;aka skutr)

Sweet little program, figures it all out for you. I sure skutr will send it to you if you ask.

Haven't checked in in awhile. But I'm still at it! Been hitting the gym 5-6 days a week. THe boat went in the water a few weeks ago, so trying to be good with the dining out and drinking on the pier. Since my last check in, I've lost an additional 3 lbs. So since this thing has started, I'm down 5 lbs. 2.84%. down 12 total since Feb 1st. That doesn't seem like much, but my body is definitely different. Much more firm. My workouts (crossfit) include a lot of weight work. I can do 10 pullups- find me another chick who can do 10 pullups at once. OUr workout last night included 95 pullups- I probably made it through about 30-40 before having to add a band (large rubberband type thing you loop over the bar and put your foot in for some assistance). My legs are strong and solid to. I"m trying not to focus on the # so much. Just working hard, and watching the diet during the week. I feel good. I need a belt with all of my pants, and the belt is on a smaller notch. Heck, I even have to use the smaller hooks on my bra. I'll take it! Keep up the good work everyone. Holiday weekend, stay strong!

Wow I wish I would have read this thread when it started. For some reason I figured it was about lack of riding and just sitting around. Hope its not to late to jump in with the accountablility because I think I started a diet about the same time you all did. Looks like you all check in on Mondays, and I have been recording my weight on Mondays since April 16 so from what I can tell is close to when you all started. I'm just doing a calorie count based on something my wife learned from a diet workshop. Based on my start weight (250) I can eat 1,680 calories a day but not more than 480 at one time. Once I finish a meal I have to wait at least 3 hours before eating again. Diet Coke or black coffee doesn't count but everything else, even gum, does. After 6 days you get an off day and can eat what you want when you want.

Here are my numbers:
April 16 250
April 23 241
April 30 236
May 7 233
May 14 231
May 21 228

Not sure how to figure body fat percentage or anything else but have progress goals of 225 by Memorial Day, 210 by my 50th birthday, July 10th, 200 sometime around Labor day, and finally 185 by the time I get back on the sled this winter.

So how 'bout it, can I join the club guys?????????

you are so in, you'll be thin! Glad to have you bud. New blood may spark all of us,, thanks for the post

Month 1 & 2 = 36lbs
Week 9 = 10lbs

Total= 46lbs ( 11.5% total body weight lost )

Had a great week, I think the Mid 90's helped me sweat away a lot this weekend and just really watched what I ate all weekend ad there were many parties and cookouts to go to.

I'm amazed at the scale this am for as much as I drank and ate, but I still stayed away from the sugar, with the exception of the beer. Maybe I'm just dehydrated from being on the boat in the sun.

2 lbs down, 4.69% total

Week 1: 177 lbs
Week 2: No weigh-in
Week 3: 183
Week 4 & 5: No weigh-in
Week 6: 177 lbs
Week 7: 176 lbs
Week 8: Holding steady at 176
Week 9: Still holding at 176

Update on my achilles tendon repair: I only need to wear the walking boot for another 7 days, 5 hours & 33 minutes. I cant't wait - its been so damn long since I felt normal and able to do the normal everyday things that everyone else gets to do (like wear two shoes) that it's hard for me not to do more than I should.

Blessings- Skutr (aka: Scott, Skurt)

Graduated High School in 1967 and weighed 185 pounds. I'm now 63 years old and still weigh 185 pounds. Never varied more than 2 pounds one way or the other. Only problem is, what used to be upper body muscle has settled South.

I can still fit into a 32 pant size, but 34s feel better, however--I buy 35s.

Has it been 10 weeks since we started this? Wow - it seems like my life is divided into BAR (before achilles rupture) & AAR (after achilles rupture).

My next doctor visit is this week Thursday and I expect that I get to take the walking boot off and start wearing two shoes. The walking boot is starting to get in my way.

I started a blog on a website devoted to people who ruptured they're achilles and when I look back I'm amazed at what I can do now compared to 9 weeks ago. http://achillesblog.com/skutr/

See ya next week & keep the faith :)

Not a bad week considering all the parties (Mem Day, graduation and a couple big B-Day ones) Dropped some even when I wasn't sure I would. I'm a couple weeks behind most of you but here is my chart.

Week Weight Net
1 250
2 241 9
3 236 5
4 233 3
5 231 2
6 228 3
7 222.5 5.5
8 219 3.5

That gives me a total of 31. Feel good about it, now on to the next goal by July 4th!

Well I missed last Monday due to a mini vacation, so this week I'm checking in with a 1 1/2 pound loss. I should be smiling but I must say 10 plus weeks have gone buy and all I've lost is 3 1/2 pounds gggrrrrr. I've been moving tons of mine rock for the past week and I do mean tons, Dave delivered me 9 tons for my gardens and that's almost done, then at the cabins I have a dry river, which actally works as a real one in the spring, this is at our entrance and one of the areas that get's my blood preasure up in the winter as people like to tear up this area which they don't realize is all mine rock until they tear it up, which makes extra work for me. So that has been my exercise for the past few weeks, and I am trying to cut back on sugar, but I am a sugarholic and I admit it, should go to a meeting but just can't at least not yet! It's so nice to see the winners and losers and those like me just pecking away little by little, but hey I'm down not up!
