I lost 65 on a 2100 calorie diet years ago, I like to keep it off though the cold weather & holidays get me up 10-15...this year I tried the cave man diet and it worked, ate and lost 10 just get to 20% or less RDA of carbs...google it for approved foods you'll be surprised, some beverage all-stars are Miller Lite and Bourbon yep you can.

I see so many working in the gym only to eat more because of it..another pitfall is the bar.

ok I have not been on this post in a while. But I have kept my 200lbs I lost off for over a year now and doing good. Here is a before and after picture! They are not the best but will show you what a 200 lb loss looks like!

First pic is after the loss, the middle pic is me at my heaviest!

Now that is incredible, the amount of effort you put forth is just astonishing, Congratulations bud!

Thanks Pat and everyone else for the kind words! People ask all the time how I did it, its hard but really is simple, WILL POWER, just have to say NO and eat healthy and work out a little. Luckily have stayed strong and kept the weight off for about a 1.5 years now and refuse to put it on. If i gain a few pounds i cut back on food till its gone.

well I got on the scale this am and was 200 even and not happy about it. Time to get serious again and I am looking to get down to 180. Today was my first day and I did very well, only one snack this evening and one helping of dinner.

Anyone else struggling, lets have a contest of something because I am competitive and need some motivation,,,any ideas to push each other?

It doesn't have to be a contest, just anything to get us going again cause I have to say I am sporting some fat that needs to go away!

Lenny,I've always been a small guy. I'm not the go to guy for losing weight. Through the military I have had some training on staying small. It's not rocket science ,eat what you are going to burn for the day. Eat quality foods to sustain your energy. Little Debies are not energies food. Only eat a little Moore than what you are going to burn for the day. They told us, it's not the quantity of food,it's the quality of food. Look into what you are eating? A lot of it comes down to ,how your body digests it,and how fast? European swim wear is In season .Neither of us look good in it,lol No mater how fat or skinny we are......

I've recently gone from 188 to 170 and hope to get to 165. I was 155 when I graduated high school. All I've done is change the way I eat. It's hard, as I love to eat, especially junk food, but eating carrots instead of chips has made the difference. Good luck Lenny! You carry your weight well!

that's pretty dang good mark, looks like you have some serious will power. It comes down to loving food for me so it is tough but I burn food fast and if I just eat less calories and stay active it comes off but I am tired of the swing and that is what I need to address and be consistent at!

Woodtic, European swimwear hey?,,,,,,hmmmmmm, I'll have to try it and post some pics. NOT! I don't even have a swimming pool!

I do ok during the week with willpower but it's the weekends that get tough for me! I will lose 3-4 lbs during the week and then gain 1-2 over the weekend. :( I need to work on that. I'm tired of the yo yo I've been on too!

you guys are absolutely inspirational and I am not kidding. I am not comfortable talking about my wt problems but if you guys can do it I am in! I hit 300 over christmas but have sobered up to a normal 285 but have not done any thing consistently to improve my situation. I love off trail snowmobiling and trying climbs and getting stuck and all, but at 54 and 285 I am shot by noon- I have all the bungie tools and a big track (16x151) but what I need is a level of conditioning and to get the wt off . I laugh at myself when I compare the wt of the new sleds -- the important wt is my wt ---not the sled wt!!! so I am IN and thanks for all your motivating posts.
I am going to start by committing to writing down what I eat through out the day - for me, if I have to write it down first- I eat better.. and less

Still holding at down 85 in a year and a half. Last 15 are tough, but it's a 2 year goal so I've got time. Worked out everyday in San Diego, harder now back in Door County. It's funny how my eating has changed. Went to my buddie's bar the other day, had a great chicken salad. Not because I had to, but it was the best looking thing on the menu. Just can't do the cheeseburger fries thing any more, I don't like it. I was never a big meat eater, but I rarely eat meat anymore. Beer has crept back into my diet ever so slightly, but still not my beverage of choice as it was. Dry red wine and a glass of water to help with the volume of liquids that I like.

Settling into the DC season now, big goal is to eliminate lunch. I have always liked breakfast, after 25 years on the road I consider breakfast in a coffee shop as the way to start my day. Today it was a fruit/yogurt/granola parfait and part of a bagel.

I did lose 2 lbs this week so far, but gotta get to the "Y" and work out. If I make the 100lb goal and keep working out I plan to wrestle Lenny at Pat's at the start of the season!

My success on this is not to diet. Remember, it's a lifestyle change. NO amount of Oreos, soda, chips, cake, etc. will ever be good for you. Just cut it out of your life and see what happens.

Many of you have met me, attached is a recent photo. Oh, BTW, the doctor cut my blood pressure meds in half.

People say to me "You look skinny", I assure you I am not. But the other day a buddy I hadn't seen in a year said "You look healthy". THAT was a compliment!!!!!!

Good luck, gotta paint the laundry room....
