Nope. She didn't pass out. She was knocked unconscious by a punch thrown by Rice. He then dragged her unconscious body out into the hallway with her skirt pulled up to her waist and left her laying there. If my GF passed out I would try to catch her, help her up, and call for medical assistance. The discussion is not whether or not he did it, the discussion is about what should the NFL and New Jersey do about it.
Peterson's kid did not have roughhousing bumps and bruises. He was beaten with a switch. Peterson has admitted to doing it.

Boy, you are spot on there.
I believe you have your facts straight. I believe this is what happened also. And in no way do I condone either occurrence. However before it is all done countless millions will be spent on lawyers to spin it or somehow explain it. It will push many people's buttons one way or the other. It will command headlines for weeks or months. The NFL will be covered even more than it already is. Meanwhile ISIS is wading across the Rio Grande. National news has priorities you know.

These are grown men making millions of dollars. It's time to start acting like grown men.

If I get into a car accident and blow a .10 BAC, should the bar I drank at offer alcohol counseling for me?

It's nobody's fault but their own for their actions. And as grown adults, it's also their own responsibility to make the corrections for their actions.

The State can make you seek help as part of their judgement but back to NFL they are in way too deep PR wise to not offer due process, punishment, 2nd chance & rehabilitation for domestic violence. After many lawsuits the nfl is paying for brain concussion injuries I would lke to see the nfl take a proactive rehabilitation approach to domestic violence not fire players & turn their backs on the overall problem. This will just drive domestic violence totally underground without videos of the domestic violence hard proof. Some type of due process has to happen to be fair to all cases. Look at sexual harassment public & private corps spent big bucks educating their workforce regarding & defining sexual harassment. Social problems don't go away you need to educate people to practice behavior corrections give them support. I do not like good people being written off for 1st mistake.

I didn't watch the whole game, but I'd say if the defense could hold Buffalo to 20 points in regulation a lose is not their fault. If a quarterback that gets a base salary of 22.5 million this year and is throwing to receivers that everyone says are great can't score more than 20 points in regulation you need to look right there. Cutler did nothing today that caused me to think Chicago did the right thing by signing a new contract with him.

I'll stand by my comments from last week about the defense. Before the season everyone was questioning them, saying how bad they would be, but 4 takeaways will go a long way to winning ball games. As far as offense, they got the job done, but still didn't live up to some of the preseason hype. Of course SF did nothing to win this game with the turnovers and 118 penalty yards. The Bears weren't dominating, but did what was needed. Jay did nothing to lose the game and he had some good passes, had some way off the mark too, and overall he was just one of 11 guys, surely not a standout. 176 yards is ok, but just part of a balanced attack. Now I know some of you will say "but 4 TD's is great" and it is, but there was nothing special about any of those throws, just doing his job the same way the receiver did when he ran the route. If the entire team can keep playing on that level they'll contend with GB for the division.

Huge win for the bears anyway u slice it. Fuller, young, cutler, marshall all had big games. Bring on the jets!

The only stat that matters in the end is wins!

I'm not a bears fan(wi born), but that was a dang good performance by the bears. Sure, the got pushed around in the first half. But to come back and beat SF on the road, in SF new stadium....and the defense looked pretty darn good in the second half. Not to mention Jeffery was more or less just a decoy last night. Great win for the bears. Congrats!!

I have Cutler and Marshall in one fantasy league. I started Alex Smith over Cutler..........that was obviously a mistake.....lol

1st half worst half of football ever especially for Sunday night nationally televised game. I thought the refs were throwing way too many flags but with super camera coverage the calls were there some ticky tacky others right on. Big win for the Da Bears they put 49ers in the hole late in 4th quarter then the defense came to life. I'm not sure of time of possession but I would think the 49ers had the ball most of the game but Bears scored when they had the ball. Seems the North will be defined by division games all teams are inconsistent. Bears on to Jets equally inconsistent team could go either way. Buffalo 2 & 0 crazy year so far.:)

I think the bills are a little better than people gave them credit for. Jets at home will be a tuff matchup for us. Need to get healthy lot of injuries, sounds like tillman has placed his last game as bear. Felt bad when he was tearing up last night as he knew the injury was serious. Great career tho. Maybe god sent tho, fuller is a player. He needs to be on the field every snap and he will now.

The league seems to be redefining team power standings but we will know more at game 8. Fuller was a good pick hate to see Tillman go down just seemed to gently push the guy but his arm probably was not completely healed or won't heal for nfl football too bad & will be a corner depth problem. The Bears did show ability to hang in there on both O & D looked bad at 1/2 time & had the feeling 49ers would blow Bears out in Q3 & 4....sure didn't work out that way! The rookie inside linemen did well too Fegerson & Sutton but maybe fresh legs helped them when Radcliff went down. Seahawks lost to Chargers in a very competitive game....who knew?.... lots of upsets this week.:)

I fell asleep at halftime thinking the game was over. I awoke to the announcer saying "What a comeback, the Bears win 28-20", I thought I was dreaming and having a nightmare. :) You have to give the Bears credit, they played a good game and beat a very good team at home. What a day of upsets yesterday, the Bears win, Seattle loses to San Diego, Denver just squeezes by and the Patriots beat Minnesota! ;) LOL

Well if nothing else, it appears that this will be a very entertaining year for football. Should be a lot of new guys stepping up with the crazy amount of injuries throughout the NFL so far.

his best day are behind him??
huh??
do you watch football?
over 2000 yards rushing and league MVP two years ago and 1500 last year on a team that posses absolutely no threat of a passing game.
wow!
you do know running backs don't rush for 4000 yards a season correct?
disclaimer: i am not a vikings fan i just know excellence on the field when i see it.

Vikes were toast before yesterday. It is a passing league anyway. RB's on their way out. Especially ones who can't block or catch a pass. His best days were behind him anyway.

Peterson getting older by the day. Not even first rated fantasy RB anymore. Had 80 yards first week and 0 second week. Season 1/8 over. Very unlikely to win rushing record this season. Peterson may have been league MVP but never Superbowl MVP. Never will be. QB far and away most important position. After that team defense. After that an RB if you have one. One that can block and catch a pass and doesn't fumble at the worst times. I would much sooner watch Seattle or the Colts. I know they both lost last weekend but there is always the chance to win with both of these teams - right until the end even if they are down. If the Vikes get down more than 10 points they are done league MVP or not. Also many of Peterson's yards have come against North division foes. Over the last few years all those D's have been below average. He never would have the yards he does if he played in the NFC west. Sorry, not a fan. Even before the scandals.

Interesting stat so far is that teams that have run the ball more than pass it this season are combined 12-1.

Eagles RBs broke the game wide open last night & pulled out a come from behind win over Colts. Small & quick makes huge & strong look like slow motion vs fast forward. Getting a running game to work opens up the O to be able to do more things well. To me the the RB postion is very under valued in the draft lots of good WRs available but that will change as league starts to see value in RBs again. Saints 0-2 without Sproules bad move not resigning him.

AP is the hardest runner of this generation, bar none. But I agree if u dont have a QB, you dont have a chance, IMO its more important than defense. U cant win with a great defense and bad qb anymore, but u can win with a great QB and bad defense.

I would take Peterson in a heart beat if nothng more than get ahead & let him pound out the clock in Q4. Most of his playing time for Vikes he had to run O passing game sucked.

yea eagles are gona be tuff this year. They run and pass well. Sproles and mccoy 2 headed monster, running plays fast, keep rotating in and out to keep defense sucking wind. Seems to really benefit the eagles late in games when defense is out of gas.
