Your boyish enthusiasm is undeniable..lol...We shall see on Sunday.... Game 1 is game 1 & I don't have high expectations from what I have seen so far but it is a 16 game regular season so still time for improvement we shall see how it goes in Game 2.
if thats what u want to call hahaha.
After ONE week, in my short life I have learned to take the glass half full approach instead of being pessimistic. I still remember when the bills beat the patriots like 31-0 on opening day. New england won the super bowl that year. Now if after 4 or 5 weeks they are still playing bad, then you can call a spade a spade. Way to early yet.
I don't agree with it all but a good sarcastic read on Cutler. Good points on what the Bears have done to make it just right for him.

this got torn apart this morning by mike and mike, if he has a bad SEASON instead of 1 bad play, I would say he is what he is. But that guy makes it sound like jay is controlling the organizational moves like coaching changes and personal choices. Complete idiocracy. The line and wideouts didnt play the whole game last week, especially when it mattered. I believe in jay and think he has changed for the better after having kids, being married, but will re evaluate my feeling after the season is in the books.
Rice gets booted indefinitely for beatin his wife.
I wonder how long AP gets booted for beatin a 4 yr old.....
IDK the public pressure is HUGE right now so league can't pull back now after Rice! I know these guys did illegal acts but they do have the right to work at least eventually or until due process is complete. Could be many many player /league /team labor lawsuits not sure the league or owners can do what they are doing??.....these players have access to huge money & union the lawyers have to be licking their chops. What a mess ! IMO
But you are overlooking something. These players are under contract, they have agreed to the terms of the contract. In an NFL contract there is a Personal Conduct Policy which applies to all employees of the League. By signing this the employee has given up right to work and due process, and has agreed to allow the Commissioner to decide his fate.
Here is an excerpt:
STANDARD OF CONDUCT
While criminal activity is clearly outside the scope of permissible conduct, and persons who engage in criminal activity will be subject to discipline, the standard of conduct for persons employed in the NFL is considerably higher. It is not enough simply to avoid being found guilty of a crime. Instead, as an employee of the NFL or a member club, you are held to a higher standard and expected to conduct yourself in a way that is responsible, promotes the values upon which the League is based, and is lawful. Persons who fail to live up to this standard of conduct are guilty of conduct detrimental and subject to discipline, even where the conduct itself does not result in conviction of a crime. Discipline may be imposed in any of the following circumstances:
Criminal offenses including, but not limited to, those involving:
The use or threat of violence; domestic violence and other forms of partner abuse; theft and other property crimes; sex offenses; obstruction or resisting arrest; disorderly conduct; fraud; racketeering; and money laundering;
Criminal offenses relating to steroids and prohibited substances, or substances of abuse;
Violent or threatening behavior among employees, whether in or outside the workplace;
Possession of a gun or other weapon in any workplace setting, including but not limited to stadiums, team facilities, training camp, locker rooms, team planes,
buses, parking lots, etc., or unlawful possession of a weapon outside of the workplace;
Conduct that imposes inherent danger to the safety and well being of another person; and
Conduct that undermines or puts at risk the integrity and reputation of the NFL, NFL clubs, or NFL players
Clearly a left hook across the jaw of your fiancee violates the domestic violence statement.

Just to play the devils advocate here - first on the Rice deal, the woman was reportedly drunk. The elevator footage is not exactly Hollywood. How are we to know it the punch connected or she just passed out? All sides have admitted she was seriously drunk. On the Peterson deal how are we to know how many of the injuries were due to roughhousing with his buddies before Peterson ever was on the scene? A second year law student would be able to throw enough doubt on either of these cases to throw them both out. I do not endorse either of these incidents but both are incredibly overblown. The media is not happy with controlling the election process - now they want to invade the NFL.

The other problem I have is how is the nfl helping Mr Rice & Mr Peterson to be better people? They are paid for smashmouth football 7 days a week & may have off the field adjustment problems to regular life.....violence breeds more violence. Difficult to think you are paid & encouraged to run angry 7 workdays & be a pussycat at home.....it has to bleed over into your personal life. Bad behavior has no excuse we all have to control our emotions but football is a super violent sport & it maybe difficult to turn that bada$$ attitude on & off. Just sayin if your going to punish you need to help rehabilitate as well & offer 2nd chances to correct the problem.
