We had the cabin at Krupp's this weekend where the one living room window faces Emily Lake road. As I was standing there waiting for everyone to get reay to go to the JD banquet, I saw 4 fricken disrespectful fricken idiots race across the yard of the neighbor across the road from Krupp's. They actually had to drive into his driveway, up and over his snowblower bank to do this. Then they went across the road, onto the lake for a bit, then back across the road, through his yard again, and then headed toward the gas station.

I was in shock, ARE YOU FRICKEN KIDDING ME! There is no excuse for this! The home owner came out of his house to give these MORONS a piece of his mind, but he was too late. Disrespectful idiots like these will ruin this sport for us.

Unfortunately, these morons are everywhere, and seem to be multiplying like rabbits. These are not "snowmobilers". They are just dumba$$es who happen to be riding a snowmobile. The world is full of people like this. Unfortunately there is not much we can do about it. I've learned that getting worked up about it, confronting them, trying to be nice and "learn" them, all does nothing. They will just laugh at you, move on down the road and continue to do the same disrespectful crap somewhere else. You just can't fix stupid, no matter how hard you try. Its just like the guy last year that thought it was "cool" to post a picture of his track going up and over Snowy Mt. Lodge. These people don't realize the damage it does to the sport and never will, because they are not sportsmen.

These folks are alive only because it is illegal to kill them. It is a safe bet that they behave just as poorly when we are not blessed with them on the trails. They probably beat their wives, kick their dogs and cheat young Girl Scouts out of cookies. Unfortunately there really isn't much that can be done. My own personal hope is that Karma will kick in someday and a bale of shingles will fall off a transport truck and go through the windshield of one or more of these twits and kill them as dead as a stump.

It's to bad that they can sell sleds to idiots like that.

On another note on respect. I would like to say how pleased I was with how much respect we were shown on Saturday. My wife and I rode with our 5 and 7 yr. old boys between Hancock and Phoenix at a very slow pace by what is the norm. Almost everyone that caught up to us and passed us, did it in a very nice manner. The only issue we had while we were out was a couple of idiots on the wrong side of the trail in a corner, meeting my wife and youngest. If they would have hit her, those guys can't imagine the hurt I would have put on them. Stay to the right at all times. Otherwise we had a really nice ride, it was the first U.P. ride for my boys.

ITS who there being raised by and thats it ! Thou you all must realize the shows that are on the TV(jersey shore, teen mom, etc!!)
The just of it is these kids have ben raised by video games ! animated TV ! all is fake and then release these idiots into the real world and BAM add a sled-motor cycle-wave runner-car Etc...unfortntly when on the sled most laws are real easy to break and the worries are not as worried about !
These proublems will only stop when a few will be shot by tresspassing on some of these properties ! BUT we don't need to kill them ! We would just like them to have a mark of the wound for life as to share the story with friends around the camp fire 4 years to come !

My personal opinion was that is was some younger guys, but without seeing their faces, I do not know if it was some younger guys, or some older guys.

I did not think we were going to talk about politicians any more

Kudos to you Skylar, we put up with that s---- every week in our drive way, it's become a game now, as we just get it all cleaned out and the next day the hillside is all blown back in the drive and frozen like a rock, real fun to plow!!!GGGGRRRRR. STUPID IS AS STUPID DOES. To step up to the plate and confront stupid, may just keep our sport from constantly getting black balled. Just look at what great snowmobilers can do they are out there after this week ends Make A Wish Event, and what a event, thank you all!!!

This morning I saw someone on a white and red Ski Doo Renagede lay a set of tracks down right through the middle of Wyandot Hills Golf Course about 9:00 am. They entered the golf course right next to a no snowmobile sign, and exited just to the side of another. Unbelievable.

I think a lot of snowmobilers are of that mind set, I didnt know that every weekend there's a race going on, that people think their the only people out riding and cant stay on their own side in a corner because their going so fast. My wife and I don't ride much trail anymore, just because of these people, I like to make it back in one piece.

The problem with people is they think when they are on vacation that whereever they are its their playground and they will be gone in 2 days and it wont be their problem. Like the guy that rode across the golf course...Theres millions of acres to ride but they think "boondocking" is hopping on and off roads and trails. I cant stand it. this year i met more idiots in the UP that have that attitude (most form Il and MN) no offense cuz idiots like this are from everywhere in the world but com'on people!!! use your heads and respect the locals before they shut down the sport and areas we love

They are also the first to complain about permit prices, bumpy trails, cost of gas and on and on. The "ME" crowd. Our biggest problem is that the 1% crowd who create the issues most likely will not read about it here. They are over to the sites where anything goes, most likely.

Polarisrider is right on, its the vast MINORITY that creates a lot of the issues and bad press. I have had a lot of great experiences, too many to count, with fellow sledders in my day and only a handful of negative incidents.

making it better???

I know it is a small minority that is disrespectful, but don't we all have some responsiblity to our sport to try to curb some of that behavior. I know things happen very fast, and I usually think later that I could have done something, but most of us have cameras or phones with camera along when riding. Especially if a group comes back and repeats the offensive act, couldn't we get sleds, registrations, etc, on cameral and give it to police for trespassing charges? I don't want to encourage violence or confrontation, but many of us just expect someone else to handle problems. Seeing how much stuff ends up on u tube there should be a way to get footage to the authorities that would be useful to them and helpful to our sport.
