Paulding Light

i think this is the only thread i haven't posted in so anyways..what is the paulding light? i'm too lazy to read all 10 PAGES

indy, it's cars off in the distance that you can view, it's in a location of hilly power lines where you can see for miles. it is a cool thing and doesn't seem like car lights are the answer but under investigation, you can see the cars also, with good bi-nocs you may be able to make out what kind of vehicle. Some people are spooked by it and intrigued with it, understandable. None the less it is now good fun to play with

lets focus on what we know we observe, Again

We can look from the guard rail and see the highway, the exact location where we see the lights

We can the the cars driving up and down the road

We can see the head lights and tail lights as the dark comes and see the same exact thing when it is dark.

we see strong variations in these lights (which is exactly what is the issue, we see things that do not add up but take the dark away and it's all explainable.)

I kinda feel bad that in a few weeks your gonna be accepting the truth :p because you have a passion for the light, understandably so. So I am sorry to be the BEAR* of bad news but someones gotta do it,,,, he he he

I'M DA MAN

Oh man my question not answered again it goes unexplained to me again the sad little looser to be ;)…….FOG thick fog how can you still see the “light” like its right in front of you through thick fog if it is headlights 6 miles away???????????????????????? Doesn’t make sense!!!!!!

because there is no reward, anybody can go there and spend about 20 miutes and draw a reasonable conclusion. Why would anyone give a penny to someone to walk out there with Bi-nocs and say, "I see cars"

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't this featured on "Ripley's Believe it or Not" at one point and they were offering a reward if anybody could find the cause?

The following is quoted off of numerous "Paulding Light" related web-sites:

"At one time, Ripley's Believe It Or Not offered in excess of $100,000 to the person or persons who could solve a bizarre light phenomenon in Paulding, Michigan."

Here's 3 of them with that quote:

I have never seen it, but it's on my list of things to see before I die!

Anyways, If it is in fact cars... Couldn't someone build a giant wall between
the two ends (I know its state/gov land and all and the powers that be would never let it happen) and if the wall blocks the light than perhaps it is cars? Just
my whacko idea.

I dunno I like the no car it's the brakeman story and the fact that from the video I
saw that light is freakin bright and I cannot imagine headlights being that intense.

Think we could get highway department to close down highway for a couple hours. That would help with the car light theory.

the guy in the video is crazy, how could he say it's headlights, hmmmm, he must be actually thinking :D

runningbear, I personally have seen a very bright light, I mean brighter, lots brighter than the others, never seen another like it but that was a vehicle also, I must say unusual

Fog related viewings, if the fog is thick enough the light will not penetrate, common sense. Don't tell me you saw it in dense fog? I have seen it in light fog and it kinda blurs the lights and magnifies it kinda with a halo.

Green is never viewed except in the imagination. Our you going on record and claim you saw the light in green. I do not recall you saying you have. I am asking you mrsrunningbear, have you seen the light in green? Come on, for all the world to see, answer please

The commentator of that video seemed pretty down-to-earth. From that video, I noticed how impactful the power of suggestion can be.

Ok for the record…..ta da….no I have not seen it green…just read stories in our cabin guest books. And yes in dense fog we saw it…my best friend from Illinois was up for a quick weekend and the weather was real crappy the whole time and she said she wasn’t going home with out going to the light….we actually laughed the whole way down there cause of the fog Bear and I told her we’d never see the light..heck we almost ran into the guard rail...lol….but we did see it….4 of us were there and all saw it…….and as far as wearing a helmet…ha...I’m on my second one the first one cracked about post # 100….lol

OK EVERYONE - THIS JUST IN!! One part of this myth is DEFINITELY BUSTED! After searching on Ripley's Believe It Or Not website for anything regarding the Paulding Light (and not finding anything), I personally called Ripley's in Orlando Florida. I spoke to an Edward Meyer and asked if there ever was a monetary award for solving the Paulding Light mystery. He chuckled to himself and said "no, it's a COMPLETE URBAN MYTH." I asked which part, the money part or the light part? And he said "well both as far as I'm concerned both, but no, Ripley's has never offered any money to solve the Pauliding Light."

Why was there never any reward for solving this mystery? Cause there is no mystery! It's cars people! :p
