yamma yooper- so you've already done it and that is you conclusion? If so, MYTH BUSTED

I'm still going to do it myself. Actually I'm gonna email Mr Freeze and see if he want's to help out. He's a pacticular kinda guy, would probably enjoy it very much. I'll keep you guys posted, this is gonna be fun.

Hey runningbear, you wanna make a little wager on the results? Like lunch or something, how about trade an offtrail adventure?

It can be walked Lenny......from there to our place is 3.85 miles and the power lines end up in the resort yard. We're good loosers and a little wager....Hmmm interesting......we're in either is good with us.....but are you a good looser??? ya know....what were they calling it....oh ya Bear says its wonna them there blind man dates...so we gotta know these things...lol........

Nash, I think you should consider coming out here and be part of the busted myth. I'll set you up for free at my "old town hall", you can borrow "old blue" truck while your here, whatch ya say ol pale!
Hey lenny, watcha tryin' to do, make me an "offer I can't refuse"?

A tempting offer fer sure, but too much medical stuff goin' on for me right now. In addition to cardiac rehab three times a week, just this afternoon I had an MRI, lumbar spine. I've been having pain and slight weakness in right leg, and I have had problems with the L4 & L5 disks since around 1980. I am not very thrilled about possible back surgery!

Be careful hiking along old US-45 and or the power line at night, you might encounter that ol' railroad brakeman! Or you might even meet ol' Ichabod Crane's Headless Horseman riding by on his horse. Sleepy Hollow is located just three miles west of Paulding, ya know! :D

I wish I wasn't 6 hours away so I could join in on your experiment! I saw something to what Mrs Bear saw. It started out as a really faint red light. Not really high, lower than the tree line off in teh distance. Seemed to be blinking. Slowly blinking- like dim, dim, gone... bright, brighter, bright, etc. Then it turned to a white light- and as she said, it seemed to approach you like a train headlight- but like close. We swore it was coming right up that closest hill in your picture- it just kept getting brighter and brighter- one big light. Then it just kind of faded at the bottom of that hill and was gone. Not way off in the distance. We swore it was right there. But nothing was there. I'm usually the first to say 'eh, it's this or that'. But it had me creeped out b/c there were 12 of us there and we all watched it, talked about it as it was happening, etc. Pretty fun.

IT IS NOT A CAR HEADLIGHT! I was there in the dead of winter with 3 other guys and we all seen it. We stood there with our jaws hanging down. It was a yellowish/white light. no red or anything else. to low on the hill to be anything from a distance. How about using an infared distance meter or infared heat detector aimed at the light?

I just watched a few YouTube clips of the Light. Pretty impressive.

Also saw cows being abducted by UFOs.

Okay Lenny, since I know were you live. I feel I've known you my whole life. (LOL) How about us going out there and figuring this Brakemans issue out so he will go over to the "Other side". My wife watches "Ghost Whisperer" and she could be of big help if I brought her along. Besides we can "shack up" with mrsrunningbear for a few days and drive her "nuts".

Now this is sounding fun

THE PAULDING EXPERIMENT

weekend fun at the Running Bear....got 6 cabins :)

I am mustering up a "Team" right now! I seen it in Feb. So my theory is to do this in August (unless you got those pesky black flys at that time). That will be at the 6 month separation mark. (hey it's my theory). This should rule out snow conditions, moon locations in relations to whatever. It gets darker later, easyer to dig if need be, etc. Remember we are not doing this for the money! ;)

The magical healing powers of the light?

Well if that's anything like the bright neon blue flash of light I saw after my cardiac arrest last August, while a team of nine doctors was working to resurrect me, then maybe so! The magical healing power of that light seemed to work quite well!

(I could have sworn I posted this note earlier, but I couldn't find it. It must be getting late!)

Hey runningbear, you wanna make a little wager on the results? Like lunch or something, how about trade an offtrail adventure?

We were over that way last summer...got there before dark, and stayed until long after. When it was dusk, you could obviously see the cars/lights using binoculars.

Once it got dark, the people started rolling in and the fun began. The light would appear....some one would say "look, its getting closer", and the whole crowd would start to agree. Then someone would shout "its getting further away", and then whole crowd would start to agree with that. To the three of us, the distance of the light had not changed.

We had maps and a gps with altimeter. It is obvious from the map/gps, that US-45 lines up perfectly to the north.

There was someone there that night who had a big spotlight. We left and started driving north while watching the altimeter. Once we got above the elevation at the viewing site (Johnson Lake road). We turned the truck around and shut the lights off. In the distance to the south, we could see the spot light shining back at us.

Then we decided to have a bit of fun...the front of my truck is loaded with off road lights, so we started to turn them on and off. Not sure what the response was at the viewing sight, but it made us chuckle.

I will be interested to see what you guys find out.

Wow...its taken me an hour to read this and find out what the wives got me into. Well I see I'm going to be working with Lenny and all his scientific equipment...didn't see cooler on the list...guess that’s where I come in. Linda's will be looking for the light that Lenny's flashing....Hmmm...she has the deck stacked there.....where will she be standing her choice or yours Lenny...lol..?.......and I see we have a wager...this is good.....makes for more fun. And who will partake in this great experiment??? Sounds like The Bears and Lenny for sure, Mr. Freeze?, polarisrider1 and wife?...nic is dieing to come will say maybe? Now when will the Paulding Experiment (as the wife calls it) take place? I think off season is the best. Lenny said by the end of the weekend. Polarisrider1 says August.

Summery finished...now lets see where we go from here....and ............its not headlights!!!!!!......think I'm gonna be doing some riding in greenland :D
