Wow, 240 posts on this topic. Even if you take out the 120 that belong to Lenny that's still a lot.

From what I have witnessed the last two years of the Pol 800 don't blow up. I regularly ride with a guy from Roseau that pretty much has to ride a Pol because he is a businessman in Roseau. He likes his Pro ride Switchbacks. I also ride with a guy that has a 12 Assault. He has about 3500 miles on that sled and it has been trouble free. Before '12 there were problems. I will leave it at that. My bud from Roseau has contacts with factory guys. He says he has heard that the 800 will soon be getting a new bottom end. He says, she says. who really knows? The Pro rides have gotten heavy. Not Yamaha heavy but they are no lightweight. But then they don't fold up like a 'Doo. Pick your poison. Poo hiring and building on as fast as they can. Selling a pile of four-wheelers. They must be doing something right. Anybody need a job?

that something right is government contracts. containers and containers full of side by sides heading out to the desert so contractors can use them till they run out of gas burn them on site and get a new one.

cooksend,
I wonder how many Polaris guys are out there looking for new leftover RMK's pre Pro introduction? LMAO!!
that is funny we all know they could not give one of those piles away let alone get 7300 bucks for one . think they had to crush them and call it a loss. I think they used the recycled alloy to make pistons.would make since same alloy that gave them that great chasi flex also gives the great piston flex

My point is that even you won't buy Cat's latest mountain sled, only the old chassis. What I was saying is can you imagine a Polaris guy looking for new leftover 09-10 RMK's like you guys are M's? Why won't you buy the new model from Cat?

I know what u were saying just dumping some gas on a smoldering fire.
I would buy a new one. I road a new one thought it was great different than my ride but yanked over ez stayed over ez was able to just gas it and lean to pick up ski just enough to get around trees.
but 12k is just a number that is hard for me to wrap my head around for something that will more than likely have a bent arm and cracked hood wit in the first 100mi of owning it.
when 10 and 11 M8 are still hiding out in crates for under 8grand. IMHO hard to beat the price for a sled that has every thing I need and still more capability than I have talent.
I have yet to not get it to some place my buds pro's or summits are going in fact more times than not making that high mark on the tree lined cliff.
I could get a new HCR through the race program for a great price but cant get a M .if I could get a M and not a HCR I would prob own a 13.
I would rather toss a few bucks in under the hood of my 11 now that warr is up and have a 190hp old school M

Sorry Lenny ,your mtn max is off the table. Just picked up a over priced Australian Shepard . He may come in handy for the big epic ride. They say these dogs are great for search and rescue.Pics of this little blue eyed guy to follow. Why does everything you want cost so much damn $. Lets hope he out lasts a 12k sled.:)

my buds a sparky and his Aussi dog comes to work with him allot.
it is funny his fav toy is the striped plastic on the out side of romex. he will find a pice and toss it at every guy till he finds a guy to tug on it with him till it breaks .then he is off to find a new chunk.
he can also climb ladders and chain link fence

Stay focused people! Blown engines, best chassis, more oil, or "I can ride better than you" only!!

Maybe the dogs name is "Poo"!

Oh, and I had a blown Poo, a good chassis in the IQ, more oil didn't help and I'm sure I can hold my own. Even with the 600 I bought. :)

Maybe the dog can ride better than me? In that case, it would be relevant!;)

mines a 4x It's hard to find a helmet sometimes.

You're not kidding! Even for the xxxl's. Tried some, 4x's included, and they were as comfortable as sticking your head into a cement block!

Lucky for me, HJC has the only ones that fit and are comfortable and just happen to be on the cheaper side!
