The GIZMO? C'mon dude. The Gizmo is not going to save these motors. If it was the company making it, Redneck Racing, would still be in business. They are not! The Gizmo only helped the people that wouldn't properly warm their sleds up. The guys that would jump on their sled and pin it. When the cold flash hit the motor locks up. Its call a cold seizure. Hopefully everyone else has a good understanding of the 2 stroke motor and the GIZMO will never be brought up again in the talk about fixes for the Poo 800. Wayne, not taking sides buddy but I think YOU are taking this a tad to far. I simple search on the web and you see there WAS a notable number of 800's blowing starting in 09. It does appear the problem is lessening and I believe we all would love to see Poo master this 800 because they would just destroy the market with an big time winner,more so than it is now, and it is already king.

So,,,,,, with that said along with YOU admitting Poo "had" a problem,,,and with YOU admitting YOU are a loyalists, YOU indicate to US that you see this through a set of blinders. Now don't get me wrong Wayne, I have had good fun along with most others here and the thread has been profitable and I enjoy the banter with you, I consider you a friend but after 12 pages of input and opinions you still are telling people who are considering purchasing one "you'll be fine" consider who is telling you about the failures. So basically all who have contributed, all who have had their 800 blow and or knows of someone who had one blow is full of crap? You love Polaris so bad you will throw all us under the bus and say we are unreliable sources and either make this up or spew propaganda? I don't know Wayne,,,,,I'd try an look at this a bit different and just take Skylars post as a warning. Many of us have had posts removed and threads removed,,, I know I have and I don't take it personally. Mod's have a job to do and it ain't easy I suppose. 12 pages and you say "despite all the info given and my engine runs good after 3700 miles" does not trump all the other issues and make you right. Yes, it's frustrating but given the blinders you wear, which you said you wear we understand. I hope you take no offense because I mean none and think you are a valuable member of this site.

I do know that Poo 800's of certain years have engine issues. Guess the point 8 am trying to make is, " Polaris is not a bad company and they most certainly do not want issues with any of their products. It Happened, it was not good in how they dealt with it. But I think they are thru it from 2012. To current with a few exceptions. I am statating that I went from Amsoil to Poo gold following the recommended break in with blue Poo oil and followed the instructions from Poo to the letter, that I and the guys that have Poo 800's 2012 and newer have Not had melt downs. What others have done I don't know. We should quarintine the issue to set years and not make it a blanket statement. Then it is not a rule violation of bashing a manufacturer and would be of some help. Keep in mind all brands have issues and we could go all summer on those issues also. Keep in mind if and when if my engine goes all will hear about it.

I can't argue with you on that but keep in mind we are talking about the mass of Poo owners,, not just you and your friends. I cannot agree that aside from personal experience we call it "hearsay" because I know Skylar, Byrn71, Boondocker82, Pwolfy and they have friends and it just fans out further and further. Yea, there are going to be a select few who will get a kick out of bashing Poo and that's a shame because Poo is doing some really good stuff. I agree Poo is not a bad company but has the trend of this thread been implying Poo is a bad company? We are talking about the 800 motor only.

Last thing, do you see this thread as a means to bash Poo? Are we bashing Poo? Are we saying they are a bad company? I tell you the truth, I want to own a Poo Pro RMK and some day will,,just gonna wait till the motor is refined or a new mill is born. When I say Yamaha is in last place in the boondocking department am I bashing them? There are things known to the mass population and the Poo 800 has been a problem but getting better and maybe this will be the year and the fix is there. Also, Yamaha is in last place and will be there for many many years as far as UP boondocking, well known facts my friend!

Are they getting pistons for 600 & 800 from 2 different sources? Just wonder cause 600 seems very reliable. Of course there is always someone with motor problems

I have freiends that ride all different brands and they all have motors blowing up, 600-800, y pipes falling off, chassy issues, drive train issues, I can go on, and on. some are kept more quiet than others, but with web sites that isn't the case. next year there will be another brand on this site and others that will be well, talked about and the cycle will continue.
I thought my self about a doo for a sled, but with four friends with doo's and all there issues the past two years I am happy with what I drive for now, my dealer treats me good and thats half the deal for me and my friends.
Good luck with what ever you ride, just ride safe, don't want to talk about that this winter again.

That is a whole nother issue. Lenny your a good guy and I know it. Key is we can ride. I will tug you out and you would do the same, I don't care what a guy rides as long as we have each others back in the bush where it counts. Skylars issues with me need to be worked out. Your fine!

From a moderators point of view this thread is so fun to watch! Some threads just go BOOM right off the bat, so you dump the offender's posts and it usually gets back on track. If it doesn't you dump the whole thread. This thread is fun because it's like a drunk driving down a mountain road. Looks like it's going over the edge....nope...back on the road....whoops, weaving again....gonna crash....wait, back on the road...and on and on.

Every morning I get to work and check this thread first, and there it is, still weaving down the road, doing no harm. Like a traffic cop, I know I should pull you over, but no harm done yet and it's amusing to watch!

I was thinking of deleting all of Wayne's posts just to see if I could get the kettle to boil over, but since we have never met he doesn't appreciate my sense of humor. Hmmm...but I do know Lenny!

Speaking of which, Lenny, I don't believe I didn't get to see you this winter. I was only in your neighborhood 5 times!

Wayne, if I was out riding, and I saw you stuck in a hole, I would be the first guy to help you get out, those who have ridden with me can attest to that. My only issue with you in this thread is when someone new says they have some worries, and you respond with the comment "scare tactics" and they you make another comment about "look at the sources" Well that pissed me off. Basically you said that the people on this thread who have had 800 issues, or know someone who have had issues, are wrong.

I like to help people stay informed, I do not care what brand it is. You have a hard time saying anything bad about Polaris because you are so loyal to that brand. By the way, I get an email for every post on the site, so, when you type something, and then edit it, I still see it in an email.
