Poos Problems

The 900, another Poo pile of junk. My buddy had/has one, his sons rides it now, and it needs ANOTHER stator. That sled has had one new cylinder, new pistons, 2 stators, one ecu, new injectors, voltage regulator etc etc. It has less than 5000 miles on it. Junk junk junk, and working on it is a pain in the azz too.

This is exactly the problem & WHY posters say your are brand blind. All those sleds are proven boat anchors very problematic sleds. Just because you know someone that didn't have a problem it does not discount all those owners that did have problems. I visited the Poo both at Lake Geneva back with the Fusion 900 & 755 there were so many pissed off peeps that dealers & factory reps left the booth. I didn't know how bad things were thought the Fusion looked pretty cool with Rider Select but owners just outraged with poo engine problems. All I could say at the the time is "WOW" this is not good got to be careful with poo engines so different from the 90s engines.

I am Brand Loyal to an extent. Polaris, Harley Davidson, Sea Ray, Chevrolet and Coca Cola have amongst them, The most loyal of all customers. I happen to enjoy all of the above. (Budweiser, Miller and the rice beer they make not loyal).

Maybe it is in part that my Customers are extremely Loyal to me. Even to wait years for me and to pay top dollar. (Don't worry Traveler I will make it up to Dreamland for Grandma) but if any of them brands decide to roll me over and bend me..........they are gone. So far so good.

Totally agree. Now Joe, who bought your 600 has given me nothing but delightful info on his 900 he had. Yes I know he rebuilt it, is there more to the story?

That is why I listed those sleds. The rider select was the first thingI removed on my 755. A guy on Snowest makes kits for that. Keep in mind that ALL brands have issues. Poo just does a horrible job in taking care of them (for some). I lay a lot of the blame on the dealers. I have 2 fantastic dealers I buy from (neither advertise here). But those who have dealers that don't go to bat for their customers are of little use and get there just rewards in the end. My dealer in Baldwin warranted a Battery and a belt with 1000 miles on it.

Keep in mind people bought AMC products (former car company based on junk and hand me down parts) and that did not make it right, but they sure could market some ugly cars.

If your not happy with Polaris right them a letter, Demand your dealer to stand up, it will get you farther then whinning here. (note: this is a blanket statement not directed to anyone but to all).

If someone specified certain models and motors and you agree,,,than where is there a problem. There is not a single post on this thread that is saying Polaris AS A COMPANY is junk. I myself have only refered to the 800 and claim it probably is being improved upon.

What many of us are trying to tell you is that if you yourself are not saying that some product of polaris is crap than you are offended. Seems as though only you can say what you like about Poo. If I thought Poo was junk in general I would not own but guess what I do! AND I LOVE IT!

Yeah I'm not like that owned them all ......I buy best brand bang for the buck for my needs right now that is Yamaha for trail riding with sleds. I'm always looking at all of the brands & would not pass up a better mouse trap due to brand just would not make sense to me. We bought our 1st Kia Soul & that car has been faultless. Right now Poo doing little with 4s sleds so does not meet my needs but plenty of 4s with other brands. My customers were very loyal because I made sure they were satisfied in everyway & they knew I would be there for them. If my equipment had been problematic they woul have dumped me for sure. To me it is how you think & what is the best product brand has little to do with my purchases more of an outline nothing more.

I dunno, but there must be a reason why he wanted to drop down to a 600 with almost 8,000 miles on it though eh?

What year was your 755?

Are you a little high on sea and snow wayne? LOL pretty sure that 700 rmk of yours was an 06!
You may be right, it was the 2nd year model they called it something other than a fusion.

Sleds come, sleds go. The 2012 sled gets Poo Gold. I'll drink the Koolaid until 4 year warranty is off. no plans to get rid of this sled. The Amsoil is in everything else I own, even my push mower. Thinking of going to Mobil 1 for the car and trucks since it is sold about 1/2 mile from the house at Auto Zone. (no frt. charges).

It is called the IQ. Poo's grand plan to put Fusion behind them. It did not work. i just looked thru my pics posted on my profile page and Man that sled was every place, Togwotee, Island Park, Cooke City, Wawa Ontario, even at a JDee ride in two years, Irons, Mackinaw Island (who has done that?), Grand Marais and many other locations.
Granted the sled was far from stock and had all updates. Removed front radiator, Carb boots, just about everything SLP sells for it, suspension parts, long list, but nothing internal. clutched to never go over 8000 rpm. Ran scratchers down always. I suspect many of the meltdowns were from carb boots and crank bearing seals (vendor supplied). Carb boots can be designed to last forever.

I recently learned of a Polaris burning down while the motor wasn't even running, they called it a natural phenomenon. Oh yea, it was the 800. It appears the sled was being trailered without the parking brake on and the track was turning just a tad from the trailer hitting bumps and sliding around in the trailer. The drive belt was so tight so it wore out the piston rings. The owner opened the trailed to find a molten glob of smoldering rubbish.

here's proof: http://singularityhub.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/05/SH-116_1.jpg

all 800's there.

now ain't it good we can have a little fun becuase we are 18 weeks away from the trails opening. I need to go to that bone yard to get one of the rumble packs (can) right in front

here's a pic of a polaris bone yard, I never knew they used so many unusual part,,,,,

this story just cant be true. we all know if it did not happen to PR1 it is just propaganda put out by jealous cat owners. it is all to discredit the 143 hp power house 800 the best motor ever built in the history of motors

LOL. I love all brands. Just along for the ride to see how long the thread will get!

Along for the ride is right. You contribute nothing constructive to this thread, that's for sure! Unless smart a** remarks or ttt count. :)

OK ok ok, constructive..... hmmmmmmmm..... well???? I can slightly contribute to this thread I guess. My dad has an all inclusive ranch in Wyoming. It's located in Saratoga and runs along the Medicine Bow. They have a fleet of 24 snowmobiles that the guests are free to take at any time at their leisure. The fleet has a good mix of Polaris 600 and 800 sleds all a year or two old, all Mountain sleds. They have yet to have any real issues except normal wear and tear (carbides, hyfax, etc) I've rode them both and like them. They have been pretty reliable and nothing major. I've owned all brands in the last five years and they all seem great. I will say I'm slightly brand loyal to Cat. Now that i'm being all constructive I might as well throw out a plug to the ranch. brushcreekranch.com. Can I go back to being a smartass now?
