Stand-up riding

still not sure now?

Is it ok for me to wear my backpack when we are riding from the truck to the hotel 200 miles away? Its very important to me to look cool, but somtimes I like to have a change of underwear when we ride that far? And now every time I stand up to ride Im gonna feel self conscious. Like people are looking......judging......making fun. I have always been very concerned what others think and now I dont know what the cool thing to do is? And now it seems like you are all laughing at my goggles and helmet?

I have also been looking at buying a Honda Pilot and running citgo sea and snow oil and maybe a twist throttle? any suggestions? Cause im really worried about what others think of me?

Just kiddin!

Once again, Why do we care what others do?

standing has it's place when the situation requires it.

The rest that stand all the time because they think it looks cool are affectionately called "flippin' ditch bangers". Most of them have just watched too much of the winter x games on tv and feel that they missed their calling to be professional snow cross racers. They just haven't understood that trails are not race tracks.

x2 the trails are not race tracks

I will say one thing about the stand up off trail riders, they have some of the best looking outfits.

I have seen some that looked so good, I was sure that they were Neil Armstrong himself just stepping out for the first step on the moon.

Thank you. What was the original topic?

90% of snowmobiling is looking good, otherwise why bother?

I would bet that most of the sit down riders also sit on there a$$ at work all day. The folks that stand probly work on there feet all day. Just a thought but may be true.

Interesting thought but I'm an outlier to that theory. Office chair mouse-jockey on weekdays, stand-up on weekends. Perhaps it's the opposite?

Not with me. stand up at work and riding. Sitting is for TV and typing to endless topics that lead nowhere when the TV has nothing good on it.

I for one really enjoy stand up riding. It makes me feel like I am in way more control of the sled. I also dont have much weight to throw my sled around, so it makes it a lot easier when I stand. I am also a flippin ditch banger, so standing makes a lot more sense in almost every ditch, so I guess thats what I am used to. But on the trails, as with most others, its sit when smooth and stand when its rough at all. I also run a snow-cross helmet, and have a matching suit, in case you all were wondering.

Waste of time

To me it is a waste of time trying to figure out why people do things, like:

1) Why do people post on Facebook? Who cares what you are doing NOW!
2) Why do people text 23 hours a day?
3) Why do people watch American Idol?
4) Why do people like the Cubs so much?
5) Why do people drive in snow and fog without their headlights on?
6) Why do people smoke when you know it is killing you?
7) Why do people not take gains on stocks when they should?
8) Why am I here typing this?

Enough, you get the point. Feel free to continue at #9 if nothing else better to do.
