Trespassing vidio Watch and discuss

You clearly missed the point. If you don't know who's land you are on, off a trail, stay off it. The guy said he had only been riding for a year. Well, he clearly hasn't learned from his how ever many years of life he has, that you don't trespass without permission, otherwise you may find someone who will defend what is his like this. Don't go riding off the trail unless you know who owns it, and has given you permission.

If you feel the need to escalate it by walking up to a guy with a gun, or pulling your own gun, that's your perogative. I personally would be appoligizing and asking which way is the fastest way off the guys property.

Editing out my point doesn't make your point.

AGREED

these guys CLEARLY went thru a gate and up a side of a drive...straight trespassing looking for a meadow to trespass on...if u guys think its ok to go off trail in an unknkown and unpermissible area, so be it..but I am sick of trespassers..every year same god damn thing

DONT KNO DONT GO

every one involved Fed up.
from start to finish including sending the video to the news.
shows they felt no remorse and also wanted to punish some one for there bad behavior .
the land owner was way over the top
the riders knew they were trespassing they are in a farming community not a nat forest.
when u jump off the trail to rip up a field u know u are trespassing.

ABSOFKNLUTLY..dead wrong and they fkn knew it

and someone here said we ALL trespass..NO we don't..i don't trespass..maybe becuz I don't off trail yet...maybe trespassing is part of the off trail game..but as a trail rider, I STAY on the trails, or in the ditches in MN..i don't go on other peoples land..i try to not even burn a marked turn on a trail..technically trespassing...so to say the riders are even remotely correct, is asinine when they blew the fence...I don't know but in my world a fence and a gate mean PRIVATE PROPERTY!!!!

If you've ridden ditches you've trespassed... I'm positive there's been times where it was unsafe or easier to go further away from the road due to an obstacle of some sort and were on someones private property.

You are wrong my friend, in Illinois at least. You have to ride twenty feet from the edge of the highway, which is still the right of way=public property.

Not that it really matters and not that it would make me condone the landowner's actions...but just for sheyots and giggles I'd like to see the video in its entirety, not just the cropped version they wanted us to see. It does seem unusual that a guy just riding casually through a boring field would bother to record it. If he did just happen to turn it on when he spotted the truck, then why? Was he expecting trouble? I suspect there's an element to the story that we'll never know. Or maybe I'm just uninformed about what helmet cams are for.

maybe we ought to sting those off trail bastards up for a public viewing (even though they are riding trail sleds), de-limb them, drag the torso around on gravel till i's just bones, collect the flesh and feed it to some hounds. Maybe make a YouTube video of the whole event, they deserve it for trespassing, tearing up the land, going through gates and fences, killing cats and disturbing lama's. Better yet, just put a bullet in their skull, grind the corpse up and use it as chum for sport fisherman. At the very least, life in prison!

I believe that would be the justice many of you are looking for.

So is there a double standard to someone messing up your land or messing up one of your rentals? I do not go into your rental if I did not pay so why would you go onto someones land if you were not invited?

… killing cats and disturbing lama's [sic].
Disturbing (click →) lamas? [No apostrophe: it's plural, apostrophes are used for possessives, not plurals!]
Riding in Tibet, perhaps?

We had something close to that in Phoenix back in 1991, see (click →) Buddhist Temple Massacre — of course in that case the victims were monks, not lamas; but it certainly was 'disturbing'!

(Sometimes I just can't resist! )

one thing i don't get is why some people on this site (blutooth) are so concerned about what others think of us and snowmobiling in general.
i gave up that political correctness BS years ago trying to please all groups and everyone all the time.
who cares what someone or some group that has never met me thinks about me.
if someone reads about a trespassing snowmobiler and wants to classify us all as hells angels on skis well i can't fix that stupid narrow mindedness. nor do i have the time or energy to even try.
people need to stop being so concerned with how they think people portray them.
you don't like me or my sled?
you know what?
i don't care!

sorry for getting off topic but we need to stop trying to please all the people all the time.

just a fyi (don't care to get into it) but the media and police have made the HA to be more than they are most clubs are family and friends but media dont like that story...!!!just like their doing to snowmobilers.....just at a club party last night and no one got hurt and no one dead today!! family and kids running all over good times....

just like this thread the media has done more to this issue than Ring did.....

well in the article it said 1 guy got stuck when is the last time u got stuck not fing around in a field kinda hard to get stuck in a field just riding across. and why do u leave a trail just to ride across a open area to see if u can hold a straight line practice for planting season?

I find it hard to believe that people who ride off trail know all the time that they are on public land. Unless they are surveyors on the side, or stick only to forest roads. That's why I have always just stuck to the trails. It's hard enough knowing if the trails are even open sometimes.

no..in my area of MN unlike WI and MI, ditches are dedicated in the rural areas and owned by the state or county..and even though a few drives may cross, it is an acceptable riding pattern..occasionally we will see a yellowed off area that a homeowner cordones off(usually incorrectly) but ditch riding is a way of life here, and LEGAL
