Really surprised they opened. Half the fields are bare.

I dunno about what its like in Walworth, but I'm about 35 min south of the border and my dad sent me a pic today they have about 18-19 inches. -11 and more snow tomorrow they said, really nice to snow once I'm back at school.

Talked to a buddy who rode Northern walworth Co yesterday. He said in the woods is ok and along the field lines where the snow drifted is good. The open plowed fields were junk he said. But it looks like a few more inches of snow the next few days. Hope the wind stays down and it will make it better.

Not saying the right thing to do but riding the drift line can be fun.

I rode Kenosha yesterday. Even thought it was windblown there was plenty of fluff to make it a blast! Even the chisel plowed fields weren't too bad...

Rode from about 12:30 to 5:00 today.
Rochester to Lyons north to Tichigan then east to Dover and back to Rochester 80 miles . Most fields look to only have 5-6" on avg. ....others have more.
The woods and drift lines made the trip worth the time.
As the afternoon progressed we saw more and more sleds.
Not much to groom . Only trails groomed were Burlingtons.
I imagine others will go through the motions tonight to log grooming miles.
Hopefully we get the full 2"+ tomarow PM. Cloudy and cold will help preserve the trails for a bit but expect about 25% snirt for now.

Did I mention the drifts was FUN?...LOL

I rode yesterday in the vicinity of 142 & 45 in Kenosha county. Trails were quite good around 1pm. I can't imagine them getting too much better around here. Like someone else said, even the thin spots in the fields weren't bad. I passed a groomer by intersection 10 around 3pm. After three or four sleds went by you couldn't even tell the groomer passed. The snow was quite soft so it couldn't hold up.

Trails started getting more rough as people got out of work. Hopefully they groomed overnight to help things setup. Probably another day or two of decent sledding around the area.

Sorry for the late report here just got back from the UP. My brother and dad got out last night I got a report from them. They rode the loop from East Troy to Whitewater through the Kettle Moraine. They said most was good some of fields were a little rough where wind blown but other than that they were good. They also had fresh groomed trails in kettle Moraine as they groom fairly regularly. Most trails I passed on way home from UP looked decent from the road. I did see that Waukesha county near Mukwonago and Eagle on way to work this morning was recently groomed and looked pretty nice. We are supposed to pick up another 2-3" tonight with the clipper that is coming through and then a little more this weekend. I will get out tonight and tomorrow after the snow and report back. But as of right now I would say they are ride able.

I will report back as the snow flies tonight and after my ride.

I drove by some Racine County trails east of 94. They looked pretty good.

wonder if they are grooming tonight with the 3-4" we are supposed to be getting....

dare i say we may have some decent trails to ride this weekend?

walworth county has to be looking great by now. they are by far to most proactive trail system around. with more grooming and another 3-4" even if its fluff it should be nice.

i may go out tomorrow during the day/afternoon ill report back.

Did get out last night did a quick 20miles mainly to check on our clubs trails. Trails were decent and definetly rideable. Again I only rode the East Troy trails. Groomer did come through. Earlier in the day then we got some of that fresh snow on top about 2". Few of chisel plowed fields were little bumpy but they were covered and rideable. I would give them a 7 out of 10 right now. Gonna ride to work today and go for a ride with few people tonight. Will report back.

2 of my 3 weather apps. are calling for 4-8 & 8-12 inches on Saturday night and sunday morning.
JD don't see it on his map but his map only goes to sunday 7AM so we shall see.
This would really get us in the game if it pans out.

Which weather apps are those? I am not seeing anything like that on mine. I hope it plays out that way that would make things pretty sweet around here for a little while.

Rode from Ringwood, IL to Hebron over to Harvard, around Bigfoot to Zenda, WI and back to Ringwood. Not one groomed mile in the trip. With the three inches that fell yesterday, at times could barely find the trail except for the occasional marker. Was still riding!!
