I like Tim in Indiana's route...except on the way back you could get off Lake Gogebic on he south end and take 100 a little east to 13 south to the Cisco Chain down to Bent's Camp...then work your way south to Star Lake to Sayner and back to St. Germain. That way you're making a complete loop.

I hear you about the FRs, but it seems everyone knows about those these days and they're rougher than the trails...LOL. I had heard that Gogebic Area Grooming was housing a groomer in Marinesco these days, but that doesn't seem to be the case as these trails are as bad as I've seen them.

For me, I had the Mod 3 prior in xxl and my Mission helmet is also an xxl and fits perfect. I was able to try on in person and purchase at Nielsen Enterprises in Lake Villa, Il. Pricing was same/similar as I could get it online.

Mission helmet is $470 w/o electric shield and $540 w/ electric shield at Dennis Kirk. It's a fantastic helmet, I've had mine for over a year now. No snot mask and works fine with or without the electric shield as has been mentioned in many threads on this site.

No different than always has been imo. Your always going to see less on the trails, you’re only going one direction. If you sat somewhere and watched both ways, you’d see twice as many, lol.

Why do you need to thaw them out? I have the same situation, never thawed them. Store with rear suspension on a stand to get track off the ground. Next time you ride, lift and drop the back end of the sled a couple times to break up any ice and should be good to go. Never had a problem in...

Don’t get the anti-electric shield in reading through this. I have the mission helmet with the electric shield knowing that if for some reason it quit working I’m still good. I had a mod 3 before that with an electric shield and carried the snot mask in my pocket in case the electric shield...

That stretch of trail includes a lot of swamps. Usually not groomed in early season until frozen up good.
