    Lessons from John

There have been many times when I intently listened to John's forecast when conditions were bleak as they are now. The one thing I remember that gives me hope for the upcoming season is his philosophy that when things were unusually steady(mild) as they are now they have a better chance of...

Anyone read "The Next Generation" article in Snowtech?

Kevin Beilke wrote a great piece about his grandson's first sled and trail ride. Reminds me of that time with my son. I'll never forget it and neither will he. Good stuff.

    Catalyst sold out?

I checked the AC '24 website at about 4pm yesterday to finally see the MSRPs for all models. I guess MSRPs don't mean squat when all Catalyst models were indicated as being sold out. The unobtainium syndrome continues in the snomo biz. This business model may work for the manufacturers but for a...

    Biggest year in modern snowmobiling

Ok sled heads. Tell me the most significant year in modern snowmobiling. It's pretty obvious to me . I'll post my opinion after a few responses

    Hillar radar runs canceled

As a member of the Bo Boen club do you know how much the insurance cost is to put on the event? Probably not. I have a friend who lives on the West bay and have been on the ice there myself this season. It's is not what you would call "good ice". Think about physics of putting that many people...

    To Scratch Or Not?

Had some heating issues once up by Greenland (late season). I bought some cable type scratchers at Pat's. Put em on and rode about half a mile. Stopped to check the skid and it looked like I was in the middle of an epic powder day. I'm sold on them. Unfortunately I lost one of them the next...

    Rockland and South

Took 13 to Bergland then 8 East to 3 South to 107 back to Kenton and Sidnaw then on to 109(the re-route is an awesome trail) and picked up 12 up to 13 in Greenland and back to Rockland. Had a hard time finding any bumps. Great ride. Thanks to all club members and groomers that made the trails so...

Is Trail 3 into Copper closed for the year?

I saw this today on the Keweenaw groomer report "Trail 3 from Clear Lk Junction to Copper Harbor is closed for logging." Anyone have any other info. I wanted to take my son up to Brockway this year.

    153 versus 146?

Just wondering how big of a difference there is between the 153 track and a 146 track regarding trail manners. Any opinions would be welcome and helpful thank you.

    Anyone been on 109 yet?

We'll be up there in a week and just wondering if it's any good south of the Superior Club grooming turnaround by the powerlines.

    Best snowmobiling memories.....chime in!

OK so I've got the fever with the cold weather coming down. It makes me think of choice rides from the not too distant past. My riding bud and I are coming down trail 107 on a Saturday around 2pm last year. I'm thinking ...."It's afternoon on a Saturday in the middle of the season the trails...

    What a storm!

Yes the rain sucks, but as a fan of weather this storm is impressive to say the least. Whenever a line of storms stretches from Corpus Christy TX to the Soo and beyond it is pretty incredible. Call me a weather geek but WOW!

    More snow in Texas!!??

My only trip to the UP cut short last week due to sketchy conditions. Now I wake up to see it's snowing again in Texas. The frustration has unknowingly played with my psyche to the point that I found myself looking at boats online yesterday and looking forward to the Milwaukee boat show. I have...
