Yamaha's big deal this year is power steering. I guess if you cant get them lighter you offer power steering to make it seem that way. Obviously alot of brand specific comments on this post, the truth is ALL manufacturers have had issues with a particular model or engine in their line up. Has ski doo finally figured out their ring issue? If not all those mpg's don't mean much. How many remember the first F7's, they either were the fastest thing on snow or they blew up. I love it when people act like "their brand" never had problems.

My friend which owns and works on Polaris sleds was going to buy a new Yamaha and has a friend who has one and told him you don't want one for all the cost. He says you have to pull motor to change plugs and the oil changes you don't have to but is expensive.
I raced 2 this winter and beat both on my 800 Dragon in a 1/4 mile with no picks, but they have a much higher top speed on a lake than I do.
0 to 100 mph all that matters to me.
Have never been impressed with the 4 stroke Yamaha's, too heavy for me, lighter the better, but good fuel economy, unless you don't drive them fast on and off the throttle then its not much better than a Polaris, plus they cost $3,000 to $4,000 more than a Polaris and the used market on these sleds you get killed.

Urban Myth & Snow Tech

Already told you that is urban myth but don't really care everyone knows better. If your bud is pulling engine out of a Yamaha to change oil & plugs he is one unique dude that must luv wreching or likes pulling engines for some reason. So how do you guys feel about Snow Tech artical about what you should do to keep your Poo 800 running in top condition? Interesting read to say the least. lol :) You guys got 800 problems some worse..... some better but problems out of box would not do well with me on a new sled. Look at the Poo 800 side ways or use anything but fresh gas & it won't run right or blow. PIA in my book & unacceptable performance for any engine in this day & age. If you like Poo 800 fine with me but much better out of box 2s 800s out there for sure.

Thank you for "enlighting" me on the truth. All brands do have issues. I just can't figure out why I don't. No acting required. Maybe it's the maintance schedule I follow, maybe luck? Maybe a great dealer/customer relations? Maybe all of above. Riding tomorow and that my friend is sweet.

All of the above is true. I bought a 2005 900 fusion and will never again buy a sled the first year out from any manufacturer. I have since bought a 2007 dragon 700 and love eveything about it. This season after 4700 miles I fried one piston. I paid my $50 deductible for my 4 year warranty and while my sled was getting fixed my dealer gave me a brand new rush to ride. So what this thread started as the four year warranty in my opinion is a life saver. Customer/dealer relations is important as well it kept me on the snow and happy. I will be snow checking a retro rush pro r 800 in the next couple weeks from my dealer.

The retro Rush Pro R 800 is one of the best looking sleds Pol has ever put out. If it works as well as the protos it will be a home run for Pol.

The new Poos along with all the other brands had their finest Mtn. sleds at Jackson, Wy. for the world to touch. I touched them all. Snowing here pretty good.

I was referring to the fact that the Rush first came out last year and this year it will be offered with a 800 engine not too difficult to figure out. Actually I must correct what I said because when I bought my dragon it was the first year out also. I guess I hated my fusion so bad I was willing to gamble one more time and I am glad I did. Obviously the only comment that some folks will like on this post would be if we all said we will never buy Polaris again. Not gonna happen, you ride what you ride and I'll ride what I ride. Its your choice as well as mine, the difference is there are only a couple people bent on bashing Polaris on this thread.

You guys need to define bashing. Not agreeing with you & presenting supporting info to a given opinion that may be different from yours is not bashing or name calling. If you want to have a Poo only supporter club that pumps Poo sun shine all day... just clear it with with JD & go for it. In a public forum you hear from the the public & the freedom all opinions posted. I prefer some brands over others but like to hear everything, good ,bad & middle of road about all of the them. Hardley bashing in any way just voicing an opinion that is different in someways not in all ways from yours. I did post on release that I thought Poo had the hottest looking sleds in 2011 line ups & Retro was really cool. Someone else may think they are ulgy... so what?..... just a different opinion not bashing. I learn a lot from ezra the guy knows his stuff also not a basher & he calls them like he sees them. Get over it guys.....not a big deal to hear an opinion that is different from yours.
