I agree firecatguy, the m and crossfire chassis is the best out there. There light and nimble and cat also has the best graphics out of anyone by far. Hope they don't go with the look from the pic

Sort of resembles a xp, cat needs to push the envelope better than that. XP will be 5 tears old in MY12. I would expect skidoo to have a new model in 2013, further seperating themselves from the pack. Lets hope the new cat is light, the f-series tarnished cats rep as a mogul basher.

I was super happy with both of my fcats ate bumps right up faster u went the better it rode on top the bumps....u do know that cat has the twinspar chasi?

that ain't gonna happen. It's a really nice ride i hear, hopefully they hold up after a few years.

OK...just watch.........

They do ride nice....but for this much of the market >< that they've captured....it's been a failure of epic proportions for Polaris.

Im with dave if ground breaking ultamate ride why not on the whole line

Rush does not appeal to blue hairs never will cold ride & too far forward. Poo wants Rush to appeal to mass market but not working. IQ old in tooth & need another platform just not sure what & when. Rush wiil stay just like Yam Nytro stays enough to support bump market.

I agree whitedust, I don't think the rush is going anywhere but a new chassis might be in the making. possibly a heavier (OMG) chassis more like the cat twin spar with a 4 stroke is what i think they should do.

I got this off Dootalk

There's been a lot of talk about Cat coming with a DI 2 stroke this spring. Only thing is, supposedly Cat found a way to directly inject fuel AND air at the same time so then it can sit on a 4 stroke style bottom end complete with an oil bathed crank... No more crank bearings or seals to worry about... This could greatly extend the expected service life of 2 stroke sleds past what they were even before the EPA regs... Supertrax had a " hint piece " article about it a while back and there's chatter about it on HCS...Should be interesting this spring....

Not sure if the link still works but here's some "outline" style pics of the new engine you can zoom in on, at least a little...

Something else I just thought of, no need to worry about getting a bad batch of fuel either with the pressurized lubrication system it would be just like a four stroke. If your jets / now injectors I guess, got plugged up from some bad fuel it would just run a little crappy but wouldn't run so hot from being leaned out that it would burn down...

I suppose it would still be a two stroke so it would still fire twice as often and the rings wold still be sliding by the exhaust port but no more intake ports to catch / snag a ring..

acatzl550 was tellin me about that at school today, i call major bs on that one.

could be why they are moving the motor buid back to MN......good article from supertrax.....

Something looks different.:)

Good 1 .... I picked up on the DOO guys making fun of this. Looks very interesting to me. One of them infiltrated " articchat " and posted this on doo talk then proceded to proclaim how superior BRP is. I just chuckled, 1 thing for sure... If this is an AC " black project " I might want 1.
It will :
1) go fast
2) have an AC ( none beat you up ) riding chassis
3) be able to be tuned into a corner burner without battling the crazy inside ski lift.

Look at the front a-arm angle .

Looks very interesting to me !!!!

I know Polaris fans don't want to hear it...but the RUSH is an epic failure on all levels...even polaris's ace Cross Country racer (Cory Davidson) is not racing a a RUSH..he's running an IQ platform.

IMO..if you are going to ride a two stroke, you should be on a ski-doo..according to a review of the RUSH in snow tech..the ski-doo handles better, rides better, and gets better fuel economy....unless you are totally blind brand loyal to polaris I don't get why you'd buy one.

I have owned Cat, ski-doo and yamaha over the last 10 years..yamaha 4 strokes suit me well. Cat makes very good powder sleds..loved my crossfire..but if you really look at all of these models...and compare apples to apples..especially if your a two stroke lover..the cats and polaris's seem miles behind ski-doo....epecially for all you powder busters...I know many of you will never trade your m-series sleds..a legendary powder sled...no doubt..but they are soooooo old school compared to the doos...and heavier too.

IMO yamaha makes the best four strokes...though they have their issues too.
Definately not for everybody..but if you run mostly trails and forest service roads...I think you will really like them.

In your mind what two sleds were probably the biggest flops over the last 5 years?? For me it's the RUSH number 1, and the Nytro # 2 (and this is coming from a yamaha guy)..love the nytro motor..hated the way it rode and handled. I haven't ridden a RUSH yet..have had friends who have that are Polaris owners..2 riders (both have owned polaris only for 30 plus years), said they are going to ski-doo..keep in mind this is after one ride on the rush...what does that tell you??

I disagree that doo is the one to get for pow busting I am a cat cuy but have spent allot of time on a free ride and summit and hands down the cat is the most user frendly pow sled huge sweet spot for side hilling belly pan keeps the sled on top you lean and the sled rolles over.way more guys have gone from doo to cat than the other way around for pow sleds.now with the new body it may not be that way but the M has been the bench mark for a long time and still is just pick up a rag and no matter what brand the rag is testing the M is allways brought up as a comparison.I just wish they would come out with a 146.and no nun to bust off or chasi to twist and bend
