Well, it was most likely the first day out for most boaters "here" this last weekend, and what a start to the season it was. We came across this cruiser on fire on our way back to the launch. Saw it on the news later that evening.... 10 people on board. The boat was approx. 40 to 42 feet. (All made it off ok). In the other pic, someone tried to launch their SUV unsuccessfully........... I've always said I could grab a 12 pack and lawn chair, and just hang out down by the boat launches all day. (This is one good reason).

that launch is a zoo way better non mapped neighborhood launch options with in 5 min of the one u are at.
BTW I motored over to check out that burner after seeing the black cloud.
u guys do Tonka a lot kind of a haul from oak grove compared to the river

Ezra - I'm familiar with Tonka. Grew up in Long Lake, and boated out there many years. My 2 previous boats were slipped on Tonka for 4 years, and I've been to both the public and low key launches. When you have a wife who refuses to take command at the helm or truck/trailer, with a 2 and 5 year old in the back seat, that launch works just fine, so long as one knows when to arrive and leave. (hauling out is a bit tougher, but it offers plenty of parking, 3 launches, bathrooms, and an area for wife and kids to get out and walk around if needed.). Either way........, we enjoy both Tonka and the River. Have done each for years. The River isn't as close as you might think to Oak Grove (In terms of where you can comfortably launch a 25 foot doing everything yourself.) I usually dump in across the 94 bridge on the north side, WI side. Depending on timing, it's always worked without much stress...

And Yes......., we do TOnka a bit more because of the shallows in Big Island (Family Side) Tried Boy Scout Island a couple times, but just didn't like it as much. We're on a black and white 25 foot Crownline. I know it's a needle in a haystack, but if your ever over that way, ping me or keep an eye out. We can crack a cold one. (I'm trying to talk the wife into letting me name this boat "Summer Sled", but she's not liking that to much!!

Nice boat Ezra. Love those Chris Crafts. Ours is a 248 as well. I'll keep an eye out for "Ernie" this summer. Hoping to get out there tomorrow if weather abides. Here's ours....

Worked for me. It's just scary to see someone operating something like that under the influence. Glad he only wrecked his boat and didn't injure or kill anybody in the process.

Yeah, his girlfriend is pretty lucky. She bailed just in time.
Looked like a pretty nice boat too.

Amateur hour at the marina what a circus. Some people make the 4th of July suck. If you got a Boat learn how to drive it. No shortage of hot chicks going by!
