I was stuck in traffic today right next to Soldier Field and couldn't help but think of this thread! That stadium looks like a UFO from the outside. We need to change the name of this thread to Da Bears!

P.S. How could anyone live in this town with the traffic? It drives me nuts the 2-3 times a year I come here on business. Downtown is beautiful once you get there.

Come on Mark.... Chicago or Spooner...lol.... Yeah Solider Field is a freaky looking structure & Chicago traffic is a bummer but then drive around LA, NY, San Fran, Atlanta, Tampa, Miami & Chicago is a traffic treat in comparison. Detroit in its' hay day moved cars at 85mph during rush hour. I never saw a 2 car accident in Detroit always 6 or more spread out for about 1/4 mile. Chicago traffic much more sane. But agree Chicago for business & made lots of money in the area but I could never live there so always based out of small towns in WI.:)

The only time I go to chicago is for bears games. In and out. I duno how people actually live there. To deal with that much humanity on a daily basis would be maddening.

As soon as I close for the season (actually 1 month from today) I go directly to Chicago to get lost for a couple of days and decompress. Amazing city, always been good to me. But, this year we are going to Paulding and Bergland to go hiking, and for my girlfriend to meet Mike and Linda and Tim and Sarah. Seems they want to meet the person keeping me in line! If she's well behaved I will even introduce her to Tom and Becker!

After that...Chi-Town!

Thinking this is a cross roads game for both teams should be a competitive game. A W or L will mean a lot for the division standings & next game. Just don't think we have seen the best of Trestman yet coach MC not sure what he has left no surprise when he onside kicks his bag of tricks is getting old but Rogers can over come a lot if he gets hot throwing into an injured secondary.

I agree the team is buying in. Especially jay. He didnt buy in to martz or Tice and is why IMO he was boom or bust week to week back then. With that said if the bears dont get pressure on rodgers he could light us up. Was listening to the packers beat writer yesterday on Espn chicago and he said if you look back 2 years when rodgers had 6 pass recieving weapons to go to. Driver, jennings, james jones, cobb, nelson, and findley he could always find the open man and torch teams. Now only 2 are left and combining that with a poor oline is why he thinks rodgers and the offense is struggling. The bears have to make someone besides cobb and nelson beat them, plain and simple.

momoney was about to anoint them super bowl champs three days ago and now crickets. white dust had a level headed approach about it. still a lot of football left anything can happen. packers d still is junk though. if Rodgers don't play awesome we don't go too far.

One of the most interesting things I took away from that game was that Cutler had a personal best going of passes without an interception. He broke it at 103. Pretty sad if his record was going about 3 games without an interception.

Come to think of it, he was born in Santa Claus, IN so I guess he just like giving gifts away.

Not saying he lost the game single handedly, but as usual he didn't do anything to help them win either.

DA Bears are just tooooooooo inconsistent never know which team will show up and then there is the Cutler factor...Yes the guy has tons of talent but he will be better remembered for his back breaking interceptions. If I was Bears brass I would move the guy if possible for a Rivers or Roma & get me a young gun to bring up in a few years. Bears will be lucky to be 8/8 in the end.

Good luck finding a taker for Cutler! Who would want him?

what are you talking about? Never said anything close to that.

rodgers played arguably best game of his career gota tip your cap. 151 qb rating. Looked to be game of day going in to half time. Still wondering why mel tucker continued to only bring 4 rushers and giving rodgers all day to pick them apart. At least blitz someone sheesh. Cutler made a mistake inside route bounces right in goldy locks hands, can live with that. Marshall runs wrong route on other one. But of course cutler takes the blame. When rodgers is hot cant make mistakes like that. Bennet not getting in the endzone at half was huge. Nelson schooled fuller, think that will be good for him. Game had all the makings of a shootout as no one could stop no one, but 2 mistakes and thats the game.

To me Trestman was out coached, again, had ball control game plan but didn't have plan B fall behind shoot out game plan & got smoked by Rogers quick scoring strikes. Can't continue to play ball control when stung like that have to match point output switch up game plan ..seemed like Trestman quit accepted defeat. Bad coaching IMO.

Rodgers played great, but he played great because he had all the time he needed to find a receiver; The bears D needed to change something, ANYTHING. Rodgers has one of the best QB ratings when blitzed, and the Bears did try to bring pressure several times, they just couldn't get it done.
The offense MUST put up more than 17 points to win. With the weapons they have and the mediocre Packers Defense, the bears looked great in the first half and garbage in the second half, major disappointment. I don't care about yards, points win games. Cutler needs to be better and control his offense, there loaded with talent and I don't think have utilized it to their upmost potential.
Both teams are OK, I wouldn't expect either of them to be a major late post season contender at this point. But lets remember, great players WIN, and Rodgers has upstaged Cutler almost every time they have played.

The Bears opted against trying to manufacture pressure and instead relied on the front four to disrupt Rodgers.*

“We didn’t blitz a lot,” linebacker*Lance Briggs*said. “It was very simple. We thought we could get a four-man pass rush on a lot of occasions. But whether [Rodgers] was able to escape the pocket or whether he was standing there inside the pocket, he was able to pat the ball and look a couple of different ways and find somebody.”*

The Bears did bring different forms of blitzes or pressure.

The Bears "blitzed" on 10 plays, five in each half. In the first half, the five blitzes resulted in three incompletions, a three-yard completion and a 22-yard touchdown that was thrown to the opposite side of the field the blitz came from. Bears cornerback Isaiah Frey was simply beaten on that play by Randall Cobb, who got a free release off the line of scrimmage on a vertical route.

In the second half, the five blitzes resulted in an 8-yard scramble, drew a holding call and resulted in an incompletion, a three-yard completion and a three-yard touchdown that was also thrown to the opposite side of the field where the blitz came from. The Packers ran a rub route, and safety Chris Conte jumped inside — appearing to execute a “banjo” or exchange technique on his own — which left Cobb wide open in the corner of the end zone.

Personally I woulda blitzed more. With time like that any QB in the nfl will pick you apart, let along rodgers. He is great against the blitz but he is even better when you have 6 seconds to thro.

momoney I agree with you 100%. They had to do something different but didn't, couldn't or something. Poor coaching on the Bears part. They tried to replicate what the Lions did a week ago and that shows you the difference between the Lions front 4 and the Bears.
