When Sproles was available I held my breath hoped Da Bers would take him Sproles & Forte would have been difficult to stop in the Trestman check down system but no Bears went the way of the draft for a #2 RB....oh well. Hester surprised me he is looking very good as a Falcon WR & no equal as a return man & Da Bears Special teams just not special....lol ...look out Hester could have a big day. Why Hester is a better Atlanta WR is a darn good question just didn't happen with the Bears same with Greg Olson. Is Trestman a good coach?.... doesn't seem so with his NFL record so far & his mid game corrections not so good Panthers ate his lunch last week. Going into the Playoffs is all about peaking too soon & no gas left in the tank too late & you don't get there. Seattle just kept improving right thru the SB Broncos not so much & it showed.

Interesting Sproles got into this conversation. The Bears let Hester go to Atlanta and he is having a resurgent year there. Change of scenery for Sproles and Hester or different coaching? Part 2 - Don't you guys think that it is better to get off to a fast start and perhaps coast to a division title rather than fight tooth and nail only to be completely spent if you do manage to scrape into a wildcard? You go into the season with less injuries than you get along the way. There really is no time to 'mesh' or improve. You better kick butt early when and where you can. Like Seattle. All NFL teams have talent. Not all NFL teams have good coaches.

Its always nice going 13-3 and having the 1 seed, but lot of times those teams get beat. The team that gets healthiest and starts putting it together at the end is the team to be afraid of. I mean how many wild card teams have won the super bowl in recent years. Quite a few.

man u like the cool-aid bro..the bottom line is cuthead is the highest paid qb in the league and absolutely not worth mid level money..hes inconsistent and always will be..i for one am sick of it and will not waste another sunday on him..i didn't watch for 10 years until loser lovie came on board, and ended up wasting a bunch more sundays..he was so bad last week..happy feet, bad reads, nothing deep, all checkdowns..its pathetic..cutler will never make the playoffs let alone win one..done done and done

I wanted to quit reading when u mention cutler is highest paid QB in the league. That is completely false. Plus if you understood QB play you would know that carolina played a 3 deep zone ALL GAME, inviting downfield passes. Check downs is what was given to him and is the basis of the west coast offense. TAKE WHAT THE DEFENSE GIVES YOU. Ya know your excatly the type of guy that when jay throws down field and forces the ball you say why doesnt he check it down, and when he does that you say why doesnt he throw down field. Instead of evaluating jay as a QB u evaluate him with ur clear dislike for him. Darned if he does darned if he dont. He is on the verge of doing big things. Is at the final step. His mechanics are better. He takes sacks when he used to just throw it up. He will run. He just has to shake those final bone head pics. Any QB that throws the ball 45 times is gona have pics. Its how u do after the pic. Do you throw another one or lead ur team to victory like luck or russel wilson. His best play is yet to come, I ffeel. If a loss bothers u that MUCH. I wouldnt watch either. Its a game, a game that wont always go your way.

in a salary cap league, sproles was never on the bears radar. Cant have that much money tied up in RBs. Especially when forte is as good of 3 down back as there is.

Yeah Sproles wasn't a realistic pick up for the Bears. Their money is tied in the offense. I don't even want to hear Hester's name, he is the same, money had to go other places before he would have been paid (not that we couldn't use him!). The league is all about how you divy up your money. Look at Green Bay, they paid Rodgers so they had to release some good players to keep him, of course he is an elite QB so it was worth it.
I guess we have to remember how the Bears are built. They are built to score big points on offense with a defense that is built to just keep them in a game, not to dominate games or shut down the other team, that's not who they are. So you will see other teams put up points against this defense BUT our offense is intended to outduel the other team. That was the plan coming into the season.
So, this weeks game should be interesting. There should be lots of points scored. The Falcons defense is porous and the Bears better score at least 35 or they have underperformed. I am hoping our defense can keep them to low 30's and I would consider that a victory. Its all on the offense this week, again.

I agree its on the offense. The D has been good enough. Have forced 2 most turnovers in league. Offense needs to play well. It starts with trestman. He must be in jays ear about turnovers. Great coaching can hide a players weakness. Which I still think they are both learning from each other. Big game this week tho. I feel it will be the turning point, for the better or the worse.

Jay will have a big game. Marshall will be unstoppable. Hopefully the Bears D is terrible. I would love to see a epic shoutout.

Of course, I have Cutler, Marshall, and Julio Jones in fantasy football. Haha.

Just read an article that marshall was supposed to sit 4 weeks after he hurt his ankle week 1. Doctors said your not playing for awhile. He said he played on adrenaline and was out there simply as a decoy for bennet and jeffrey. The offense should change when he becomes himself, which sounds like he is pretty much healthy now.

What do you packer fans think about the dolphins game?

Miami is tuff in that hot humid climate. Plus all the squares are betting pack and sharps are taking dolphins. I bet its a good game.

nice bounce back game for bears. Needed that one. I wish u werent a bears fan. FYI bears are gaurenteed to have cutler this year and 2 more. So get used to it. Maybe jump on the cowboy bandwagon? Cant wait for cutler to string it together and shut people like you up, its so obvious he is the most comfortable he has ever been. He has bought in to a system for once. I know he had his short comings in turnovers. Final step to being a premier QB. Eliminate bad plays. Now string together. 2 more games and marques wilson....another weapon to add to the arsenal. BtW b marsh is back. Also liked how the new young linebackers played greene and Christian jones filling in for briggs, bostic, and dj williams. and fuller came to play as well. Unfortunately this is it for lance briggs as a bear. His salary could really be used in other areas.

Good win for pack. idiot play call ing at the end of the game IMO from the dolphins. The packers didnt stop the read option once and they dont run it the last series and give ball back. Not sure why. As soon as they punted was pretty clear rodgers was on a mission. Hes tough.

BTW mr poodan, where do the bears find a QB to replace cutler? That magic tree that produces elite QBs, right? Man I duno why ur not the GM of the bears. All we would have to do is walk down to the magic tree and pick a QB. Im sure you Would really do an awesome job.

ps im sure your the same guy who said keep mccown over cutler hahahaahha :p

It was a good game for the Bears. Its amazing what a defense can do when they play a mike tice coached offense. The team looked good in just about every aspect, now they need to keep it up. But this year in the NFL inconsistency is the norm. All you have to do is make it to the playoffs, not an easy task.
I thought I would come out of this game knowing more about the Bears but Iam not sure I do. Are the bears that good or Falcons just that bad. The Falcons have no excuse to play that poorly on offense against mostly backups. remember, backups are backups for a reason. But, I expect fill in players to play well also.
So, if Cutler can play consistent, that never comes easily for him, and the defense can play average as they have been they have just as good of a shot as anyone.
