we trade all the time....My cats have been great sleds some might say i am like Wayne and "brand blind" so here my take on the cat and poo deal....and I have had the luxury to ride both....2012 and 13 poo and 12 cat.....love my 08 m8 best sled for deep stuff TILL I rode the 12 poo I had the chance to sidehill and then go to top hill took same run net to each path (fresh snow) and will say poo has that sled dialed in very impressed so impressed I am jumping ship I never thought I like a Polaris they always had wide nose and seats just could ride them but now they really got the chassi together!!

guys I ride with out west come from Il and Indiana they buy Mt sleds every cpl years and leave them out in Jackson and fly they had m8 and doo for years all 3 them sold end of 11 season and bought new 12 cat...they guy coming off the smurfdoo was real happy the guy coming off 10 m8 was very disapointed and these boys can ride......all went poo after renting and trying.....

Wayne you need to open your mind a little your brand loyal is not good.....cat had the mtn led for good 10 years you judging something you never rode is crazy......just remeber you where on here for years saying that old 600 of your was best sled ever!there nothing better in steep and deep yet soon as you hit a new sled your tune changed fast.....just need broden horizons just like your bike you keep saying how much you love your bike and will never change I belive once you ride a new 103 you will change tune again I had same year heratage as you and cant belive how old tecnology they are and dont get me wrong I love the evo motor best motor ever TILL THE 103....
The motorcycle is a model loyalty. Would buy a new Heritage Springer with the 103 six speed in a heart beat. I do want to retain the Springer front end for nostelgia. Love the sound but not a choke and carb fan. Nice part is bike has been paid for for many years. Got my eye on a new street glide in Red metallic. Nice to hear from you!

HD has figured out how to make you buy more stuff!!! with that bike I keep finding more and more I need...hahhahah thought it was bad on last bike this one is 20 times worse.......Bike is like a dream you dont want to wake up when you get out riding the miles melt.......

oh and the Gizmo is the fix for polaris motor....poo wont admit it becuse they will have to goback to 09 and recall all sleds to fix.......look it up....

Looked it up.
Seems odd to me that there hasn't been any mention of this "fix" on here until now. I would have seriously considered, and certainly done more research on it, when I bought mine.
Now, this is all that's left. Thinking of buying it back to hang on the garage wall!

as far as the 12 m8 it is a pile of junk.
the 13 I was on was way way better but like I said not enough to make me want to drop the cash this yr. my 11 only has 1300mi on her.I did post about selling if I got the right money but then decided to put a few bucks in to her under the hood this summer.

if poo would pull there head out and build or buy a reliable 160hp 800 they would get all the mountain business. but they wont .
I cant buy a poo .me and Wayne are on 2 diff polaris paths.
his path all roses fuzzy bunnys
my path always always always a nightmare.
every thing I have owned from them has been junk starting with my 4x4 in the late 80s my ultra my xcsp that made it 3.5 mi before melting down my Virge ski all low mi deaths.
and it is just me cuz the ski my bud got the same one same day same dealer still going strong. my dad still has the same model 4x4 that lasted me 7mo u know just past that 6mo warranty.
the ultra was junk for every one. cant comment on the last 600rmk I had I got it used but was deff not a fan.

so if I go out and buy a new rmk the only thing that is going to happen is I will drop a skirt rune my season prob 3 guys day. cuz it will happen in the bottom of a huge steep bowl that we had to side hill a mile with no room for messing upto get to. then still have a 2 mi treck back to the trail.
all that bad juju that just happened to me will be converted to good energy for a cheerleader like wane and instantly harded there skirts to last 10k mi.
and all this will happen and we will be using a old beat down M to get it out of the woods and the driver of that M will then ask me why did u buy that thing u know u and poo are like oil and watter.
at that point I will have no choice but to pull the credit card call in the chopper and sit down and smoke snow bongs till the pain is gone and just enjoy the view of that pile of junk dangling from a nylon strap flying away praying the strap breaks

Ya know, that's an idea! would like to see pics when he gets it done. Your the second one to tell me about the street glide. One concern I am having is how much stuff bolt ons HD buys from China. HD claims EPA regs. on chrome plating in the US is insane. Just put brake pads on the front and went after market to get "The good stuff" The dealer steared me to the after markets.

depends alot how you shop.......18,000 to 25,000 depends on dealer and time year.....

Dealers around here are all above MSRP and getting it. but not from me. I have 3 dealers to choose from and I will shop the snot out of it, till they give me a bike just to go away! (I wish).

well guys i have a 13 assualt with 1500 miles on it, only problems i had is a new wiring hareness, and a over priced belt. i love this sled. Ive ridden all the brands and by far this is the funniest sled ive ever ridden. like someone said they all have had there problems. So i have my fingers crossed that i don't have any issues with mine. i just gotta say thanks too everyones inputs on these issues, keeps me well informed.

p.s. i'd love to ride with some of you guys someday, im a iowa boy so don't get alot of backcountry riding in.

we need some good feedback form the XM owners. I sat on Doospunks earlier in the winter and just standing on it and trying to pull it over was somewhat easy. Are the 800etek doing well, have not heard of failures like the poo 800's

lenny I had a 12 800 etec, with 1700 miles with not one problem. But it was a boring sled, thats why i went to the assualt.

yea, the new 13's have that deal that allows the sled to turn over easier, nice to hear the 800 was solid for you

The new XM is VERY easy to layover and carve with, compared to the xp xhassis, the motor is pretty solid also, lots of power. It takes a little bit more time to get use to it when going from my Pro to the XM, but not much.

I love it that the group of the people I ride with, the 3 major two stroke MT sleds are represented. That way we all get seat time on all three, and can then give honest opinions about them.

When people try to give opinions about things that they have no experience with themselves, I take those opinions with a grain of salt.

I sure do like the Victory Judge motorcycle looks. Cant believe PR1 does not own a Victory.

you know,,,I didn't give much consideration for the doo's because OMDave has the prior chassis and that thing plain sucks. I mean it is a solid quality sled but carves worth a crap. My Mtn max is way better in that department.

Skylar, you rode doospunks xm ? what track length?

In our group we all have no problem allowing each other to ride their sleds. I have ridden a pro and 2 occasions, I owned am M but my skill level was lacking back than and I have came a long way since hooking up with Byrn71 and boondocker82. Someone mentioned that the pro does not flick over as easy on the initial effort and I did experience that on Byrns sled but never really spent enough time in the Mtns on it to get a solid feel of the balance point to hold the line but Bob sure figured it out fast. How about warrentys? I'll go to all the 3's websites and get details but any info off the top of your heads is a good start.

Yes I did. It was the 154. It is nothing like the XP chassis, I could not stand the XP Summit he had. The XM is 10 times easier to carve/sidehill with. Very nice. It is more rider forward than the Cat or Poo, but within 5-10 minutes I was comfy on it.

no way the HO is the only way to go and the 11M8 is the best they put out. that 08/09 was a dog with out a jug shim kit/ y/ and mapping.
I have not seen many HO go boom guys are pushing race gas turbos on the HO totally stock and running 3k and still not blowing or popping cranks out of index. O2 sensors going bad yes DD bearing going bad yes spider busting yes but that's about it.
U could not pay me to buy a 12 was thinking about a 13 but after some seat time did not have a big enough impact to make me want to spend the cash. and to top it all off I love to have a hood that opens in less than 10 seconds to much work to cook your lunch out of a new sled .

I'm just talking from a price standpoint you can get an 08 or 09 same great carving chassis for CHEAP, if you ride the yoop you don't need the power anyways and its got a rock solid motor that still puts out decent power. Just a poor teenagers opinion LOL

yea you do need the power in the UP. There is a few different styles of UP backwoods riding. You can shoot down the logging roads, power lines or the real aggressive rider will finds lines through the woods and in the hills. Often you find a line and run out of momentum and the track speed can carry you through to turn out. I gained some serious hp going with the triple pipes and could use more but way better now. Drastically changes where I could and couldn't go. The UP is a technical riders dream ride that most do not ever even think of. You'd have to see it to believe it. It's very exciting riding and difficult, not for the faint hearted or the guy who worships his sled.
