Citgo Sea and Snow

I looked at the sea & snow product information. It states that S&S is certified for JASO FC but it said it is recommended snowmobile engines where JASO FD is preferred. Is there much of a difference between FC and FD?

Seems like no one has had any engine failures as a result of this oil, but I'm trying to understand all the ratings info before buying it. $13/gallon vs. $36/gallon is hard to argue with.

The spec you might have been reading is outdated. Sea and Snow IS JASO FD and ISO EGD. Difference from FC to FD is Higher detergency requirement. I have switched to it, and so has other buds. You will get the Amsoil guys telling you that its just cheap oil and why put it in a $10k machince. Anyone who knows me will tell you I don't skimp and money is not an object when it comes to caring for my Truck, boats, sleds, etc.... But there is a differnce in "cheap" oil and "inexpensive" oil. Cheap is weedwhipper oil. Inexpensive can be oil that meets or exceeds all requirements of the latest tests and works as good, if not better, than the expensive stuff.

People buying Amsoil, I hate to tell you, but they do not Meet JASO FD and ISO EGD specs. They are only FC/EGC. So, the S & S is a BETTER oil for your motor. So if I was to spend $38 on a gallon of Amsoil, I would be putting oil is not as good as Sea and Snow. Besides, just because its synthetic doesn't mean its good, its just man made. I know alot of man made things that are not as good as natural..... sugar and splenda come to mind.
