Dude - still waiting for your scientific data on the Poo 800's - guess anecdotal, emotional evidence is all u got.

Dude tell me what company is not building a reliability kit for the liberty? the failures of the liberty 800 are well documented over the last 13yrs .great sleds but don't burry your head in the snow and think u don't need to do any preventative maintenance ie new pistons/check cylinder tolerances after 2 seasons.
it is what it is just like I sure chit will never start a season with out a full teardown of a cat primary and secondary and more likely than not replace all wearable parts or in my case toss driven in trash and put in a tied .

Everybody builds replacement kits - that tells us nothing. I'll repeat, since there's apparently memory retention problems here...number of Poo 800 piston failures, as a percentage of units sold, compared to Doo and Cat's same number. I'll be waiting. I'm out of this, since I know you got nothin. Cheers

"the failures of the liberty 800 are well documented over the last 13yrs" I'm glad mine is more than 13 years old then! That must mean I'm good to go!

You XXX007 (and I don't mean your name either)....you know dang well that number is available only to insiders at Polaris.

Why anybody on this board responds to anything this guy/gal posts is beyond me. Get's his/her jollies stirring the pot.

Hey guys let's get back to me and how I'm driving myself insane trying to figure out IF and what to buy!!! Again I'm not brand loyal. Love-hate relationship with all 4 manufacturers... I can't believe the cool sleds we have to pick from.. the technology available, 4 stroke 2 stroke track lengths suspensions ride comfort shocks gas mileage acceleration speed handling.. we fall in love with our sleds then they turn out to be way higher maintenance than our first high school cheerleader girlfriend.. we all need therapy, snow!!! And lots of it. Then we can go ride instead of hanging out on the snowmobile websites!!
Dang, now Polaris has big rebates and 0% financing like ski-doo.. now I am gonna be test driving new sleds till the snow melts!!! I'll let you guys know what I end up with. Hopefully not a padded cell!!

Saw M&M lawn leisure in Pine Island and Rushford have some blow out prices on 16 model polaris. Axys is the bomb. Switchback proS is a awesome trail sled. It even makes the new guy in our group look like he's been riding for years.

Hey dickmsp, sounds good to go out and ride as many different sleds that may interest you!

So many to choose from, will be interesting to see if any of the 2-stroke powered sleds win you over from the 4-stroke.

If you get the chance to ride a '16 Doo 1200 curious to hear what you think it.

Richard - we can't decide for you. You have been given so many opinions here now (IMO) it's up to you to get out there and ride. Either the 20 mile test ride route or the rental (my suggestion) route.

Good luck!

Yep and this also makes a (my) late model/low miles trade-in worth less money. :(

You will stiil make out on 16s soon to be a noncurrents on 17 release. Dealers have to make a buck somehow selling your old ride with other peeps considering a deal on a 16 non current too. Then the 17 Spring deal will be released as well tuff for dealers good for the consumer.

i will ride anything ---

as long as it is as reliable as my yamaha.

so when other manufactures have multiple people on the trail daily with 10k-15k miles on sleds ill switch over.
never seen a 2-stroke or other manufacture 4-stroke go half the distance of an averagely maintained yamaha.

i liked the idea of the ACE... but coming from an apex i jumped on it hit the gas and said who stole a couple pistons. Loved everything else about it and heard nothing but great thing about reliability.

rode a friends 900 ace Blizzard last weekend in the UP and was really impressed. 0-60 as quick as most people need, smooth but need to get used to the ITC throttle. great tech on these between the 4S, TS ski's and suspension.
